A French Country Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We drove up the mountain into this beautiful repose in the Highlands of North Carolina. Two stoic lions stood guard as we entered this beautiful French Country Chateau. Like entering a different country and time zone, the house and all furnishings spoke French. The river appeared to run under the house and all decks, upper and lower opened and viewed the peaceful river and forested mountains. The chateau seemed remote, and yet the grocery store and restaurants could be reached in minutes. The stay was peaceful and very memorable. Customer service was excellent. The property was perfectly maintained and pristine. I would highly recommend this property unless I intended to rent it again at that time myself.

Awesome and elegant mountain escape

  • 5 of 5

We have used VRBO and HomeAway often and this home is the best yet. You can book with confidence and be assured that the owner has represented the property accurately and everything is handled professionally. We found the lake setting with use of the kayak and canoe along with a dock and private grounds enhanced the vacation experience for our family (ages 8 to 83). The location is very close to Highlands but we felt as though we had traveled to the French Countryside.

The home has an excellent view of a lake and mountains.

It is close to a fun, quaint downtown area while also close

to hiking areas with waterfalls and great views. We also

enjoyed the pool table. I highly recommend this home!!

Amazing stay in Highlands

  • 5 of 5

This location was amazing. Worth every penny. Plenty of room with lots to do. The kitchen, pool table, and seating areas around the property of the house made it hard to leave during the day. Perfect lake location and very clean. We will be staying here again!

A Fabulous summer at La Chatelaine

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 months at beautiful La Chatelaine. It was a very impressive property with a "grand view" of Lake Sequoyah. The property manager met us on the first day and was very thorough on details we needed to know. The home was very charming with every amenity. A very comfortable home for everyone. Location was perfect to getting to town. And one of our favorite restaurant, "On the Verandah" was just a short distance away. We were able to take advantage of the kayaks and canoe down at our dock while there. A must for nature lovers whom enjoy the water. We highly recommend this property. We will be back again!
