The Tree House is located on one of the islands only natural canals. Lush vegetation surround the home making it the perfect spot for just 'getting away.' Stroll to the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico just steps from your door. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Gulf. A small dock area can accommodate a small boat with a boat ramp at nearby Lovers Key State Park. It's truly a place to relax and unwind.
Something for Everyone in Ft. Myers Beach: Shelling and Kayaking at Lovers Key State Park are just a bike ride away from the house. Sanibel Island is world famous for its shelling beaches. Enjoy nature at Ding Darling Nature Reserve and Corkscrew State Park or take a nature/shelling cruise to look for manatees, dolphins and the beautiful shell of the Gulf of Mexico. Grocery shopping & movie theater are less than 1/2 mile from the house. Attractions in Ft. Myers Beach include miniature golf, shopping golfing, nightly live music, para-sailing, hiking and bird watching. The selection of restaurants in the area is fabulous...and there's so much more!

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation. Thank you Mimi Little for your hospitality.
The treehouse is located in a nice quite neighborhood. We loved having our morning coffee in the screened porch over looking the canal. Thanks again Mimi Little!
Great place to stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the "treehouse". We rented the lower space which is perfect for two people. The location was quiet and close to the beach. We used the kayaks to visit the bay which is just at the end of the canal. Mimi was a wonderful host! We enjoyed chatting with her and watching the progress on her paintings.
Loved our stay at the Treehouse
We stayed for 3 weeks in Jan. 2018. The information online matched what we got. John and Mimi arrived the second week and they live on the top floor. You really do not know they are there. John had great advice for places to visit and was very helpful in lending us his pickup to take the kayaks to Lovers Key park (it is only 4.5 Km away). It was great fun to kayak around the meandering waterway and looking for wildlife. The beach is literally a 3-4 minute walk from the house and you can go for many miles on the white sand gulf beach. There are great sunsets so be sure you head over with a drink to watch them.
I really loved getting up in the morning and taking the chair down to the edge of the property by the canal with a coffee to just watch the birds and read. There are bikes to borrow but I also loved to walk and explore the neighbourhoods. Publix grocery shopping is a short bike ride away or you can walk which we did many times. You are mid island so close enough to enjoy the bars is you want be far enough away to enjoy the quiet both on the beach and in the backyard.
The picture online seemed to suggest the sleeping area and kitchen are one big room but they are not, they are two separate rooms which is quite nice. LOVED the screened in porch with ample room to chill and relax.
If we are back in the Fort Myers area we would not hesitate to stay here again.
What we would do a second time
- bring bike helmets
- everything else was provided so that is really all we would do differently.
I have truly loved staying in the "Tree House" located just a short block from the Gulf. It's a very comfortable setting, especially the large screened porch with ample seating. My kitty absolutely loves all the wildlife to watch. Although the AC is rather loud, it's truly a special place. I've already stayed there several times and the owner Mimi, as well Geri (neighbor) are always very gracious. There is even a carport and a couple bicycles just waiting to be enjoyed. I hope to go back next year!
cozy, comfy and close to the beach
We LOVED staying in this sweet little apartment, on the ground floor of the Treehouse. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was lovely, and the kitchen area was cheery and stocked with all the right stuff. The AC unit was loud; but after using it the first night for a bit, we didn't need it anymore - the ceiling fans sufficed. The best part of this place is the screened-in porch: it's huge and comfortable and surrounded by wonderful tropical vegetation. We loved drinking our coffee out there in the morning, and eating dinner and playing cards out there at night. Fun to listen to the birds sing, the squirrels chatter and the occasional coconut plop into the canal. Mimi (the owner) is so easy to talk to and wonderful to work with; and her artwork adds warmth and beauty to the beach decor. The neighbors John and Geri were super friendly and helpful upon our arrival (and departure). Geri showed us the ropes, answered our questions and gave great tips and suggestions. The short stroll to the beach was the best!! We loved grabbing beach chairs from the storage room, and walking to the beach to watch the sunset every evening...Spectacular. Another awesome perk of this place is being able to use the Kayaks to explore the bay area! We loved the little journey through the canals to the bay and mangroves, where we saw osprey and herons and other birdies; and on our last morning, we paddled among the dolphins - pretty magical. This location was a wonderful home base. We loved the beautiful 30-40 minute drive across the Causeway to Sanibel Island and Ding Darling National Wildlife Preserve. Six Mile Cypress Slough was another high-light. And Lover's Key State Park is gorgeous and just a few minutes down the road. The shelling on Fort Meyers Beach and on Sanibel Island was fantastic. And though we didn't check out any beach-side dining, we loved the two places we tried that were within walking (or biking distance) from the Treehouse: Beacha Pizza, and Truly Scrumptious (awesome biscuits and gravy). Fort Myers Beach was the perfect place to relax and celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. The Treehouse offers such coziness and convenience! We fell in love with the place and can't wait to return. Thanks Again!
Comfortable beachside condo
We really enjoyed our recent visit to Fort Myers Beach & this was a great little condo for our visit. It was perfect for a vacationing couple & was the most reasonably priced unit we found. Late night arrival & late departure checkout were no issue with these agreeable owners & we really appreciated it. Our favorite part about the condo was enjoying the huge screened-in porch overlooking the canal. We enjoyed our morning coffee with the breeze from the overhead ceiling fans...very relaxing! The interior cooled quickly from a window ac unit (a little too noisy for us to run while sleeping). An interior floor fan did the trick of keeping us comfortable. I liked the floor fan so much I bought one like it upon returning home. The unit was only a few steps from the beach, which was simply beautiful. Can't wait to return this fall. Thanks!
