Live in California and have enjoyed this home for many years with family and friends. Skiing, boating, fishing, golfing etc. Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Pinecrest Lake. My son was on the Dodge Ridge race team for years and they have a wonderful program for children. The area is very family oriented and peaceful with wonderful local people and vacationers.
JoAnn purchased this cabin in 2002
close to fishing, hiking, boating, golfing, camping, canoeing, motorcycle riding, skiing, antique shopping, etc.
drive less than 10 minutes to get to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort or Pinecrest Lake.
Our family and another just finished our stay at the cabin. Lots of space, comfortable beds, great family room. Only about 10 minutes or so to dodge ridge skiing. We didn't have to deal with lots of snow near the property so not a problem for us. Mia's restaurant is about 5 minutes away when you finally get tired of cooking in. Climbing the steps prepared us for the slopes. Owner was pleasant, informative and responsive. We recommend this place to anyone checking it out.
We stayed here for a couple days to ski at Dodge Ridge, which is a short drive away. JoAnn was nice and easy to deal with. The cabin was comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. The driveway is very steep and there is no garage, so if it snows or gets icy you'll need chains to back up down the driveway or park at the bottom. Also, there are about two flights of stairs to get up to the front door so you'll be a little out of breath by the time you get up there. The appliances in the kitchen are rather loud, and the gas oven gave off an odor when used. Overall though, the cabin was nice and we enjoyed our stay and it was a good location for Dodge Ridge.
We had a great family getaway here after a big snowfall. The kids had a fabulous time sledding, both next to the cabin and at the huge "public" hill about 2.5 miles west on 108 (check it out!). We're not skiers, don't know how far it is to good skiing, but we did go to Leland's Snow Play (inner-tubing hill). Kids enjoyed that too, but very crowded!
The cabin is very clean, very nicely furnished, comfy and warm. Fully stocked kitchen with lots of staples in place made it easy for us to make the food we like. (For serious coffee drinkers like us, the very small coffeemaker was a slight frustration.)
Joann is helpful, a great communicator, and easygoing.
I would have been grateful for a little more guidance to local shopping, eating, attractions, etc. I had to figure out on my own that the Twain Harte Market is a nearby, well-stocked grocery store with plenty of gourmet stuff to satisfy any Bay Area foodie.
Excellent experience overall, I recommend it.
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at this cabin and it was such a treat--a great location for skiing! The cabin is extremely clean, comfortable beds (yeah!), well stocked kitchen, modern appliances, clean carpet, big TV, and nicely decorated. There is a wood burning stove with plenty of cut wood (under a well protected tarp so its dry!). By far this is one of the nicest and most comfortable cabins we have stayed in and will certainly return!
I grew up in this house we moved out in june of 2000 it was by far one of the best homes I have lived in and wish we never had to leave it so many memories there.
Nice cabin-great for families within easy driving distance of Dodge Ridge. Lots of room both for sleeping and other activities in the cabin (Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room areas). Owners were very accomodating when a few glitches came up and helped us fix them ASAP.
Very comfortable--We had a great time.
For icy days--need to have salt/sand on stairs to help from the sliding-shovel alone did not do the job.
