About Thomas Byrne
I purchased and restored the nearby Thomas Harrison House (VRBO 198445) in 1991. As my interest in the area grew, I purchased and restored the Thomas Blades House as well as the Washington Melson House (VRBO 229963) and John Bruff House (click on link).
Thomas Byrne purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Thomas Byrne chose Saint Michaels
The proximity to the beautiful harbor and to almost everything in Town, the architecture and the historic character of the area.

Really liked the house. Great amenities and comfortable. Would suggest a Twin or trundle bed in fron/kids bedroom.
My son ended up on downstairs couch which was fine. Double bed was fine for my daughter.
I would go back to property.
This was our second time my wife & I stayed at Tom's home, this time over Thanksgiving with our dogs (thanks for letting us bring them again). The location of this property could not be better! One block off the center of the main street and only half a block to the waterfront park. Park the car & hang up the keys, you can walk to everything this quant little town has to offer. The location is the key to this lovely appointed cottage. Adjacent to all that Talbot Street has to offer and with Carpenter Street Saloon practically next door - a great bar for breakfast, lunch or dinner with entertainment and very friendly locals. The house itself is perfect for a romantic getaway for two. Tom makes it easy to access and everything you need is included. Bicycles, screened in back porch, BBQ, nice linens & king sized bed. We could not recommend this property more. If you looking to stay in St Michaels don't look any further. We'll be back soon.

If you want to be able to see and enjoy St. Michaels, and not get in your car, this is a perfect location--we enjoyed walking to the museum, to dine, and shop. The cottage was clean, nicely decorated, and well appointed. We really enjoyed the screened in porch. Thomas was a great host--we had a minor problem with the cable and he took care of it immediately--very responsive. We will definitely consider this location again when going to St. Michaels.
Lovely historic cottage in great location
My husband and I stayed in Tom''s cottage for 3 nights. The house is clean, comfortable and roomy- especially for 2 people. Tom was very responsive when we called regarding an issue with the tv. He came right over- fixed the problem and gave us a detailed history of his historic home . We will definitely be returning !
Perfect Prep! Great Location!
Extensive and accurate information in advance and plenty of tourist information in the house. House very clean and well-equipped. Loved the short walk to survey the waterfront from Muskrat Park.
Perfect location...adorable house...great porch!
This house fit our needs perfectly. It's a block from Talbot St. and 2 blocks from the Marina. The house was very clean and quite a lot of space for a two bedroom. The front part of the house is the older portion (built in 1840), the back part is newer with an updated kitchen and everything you need. The porch is great, screened in with a fan. We enjoyed our evenings and mornings there. Only downside are the beds. They could be a bit more comfy (might want to bring your own pillow) and the sheets could be a little nicer. They weren't bad, just thin. Otherwise it's a great house! We would definitely return!
