Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent 11 days on Oahu, 8 were in a much larger house in Panaluu. We loved that house however it was but creepy as we killed a centipede, 2 huge 2 inch long roaches, millions ants and saw a huge rat. That being said, half of our group went home and spent the final 3 nights in this condo. It was so clean and bug free that we overlooked any shortcomings. The fry pans are very worn out, the non stick surfaces are flaking off which isn't safe to use. The bed was comfy and internet was great, easy to connect to. We walked to the beach at the resort and we're asked to get out of the lounge chairs. The man told us we have our pool and chairs at the condo, and they have theirs at the resort. This was very rude and made us feel like we were in second class on the Titanic! So I loved the condo but the resort can leave a bad taste in your mouth. We went some other beaches that were nearby and stayed far away from the resort. I highly recommend Haleiwa Joe's in Haleiwa for lunch or dinner...absolutely fantastic food!!! Thanks Trish for making our last few days memorable!

Owner's Response: Glad to read the guest’s comment: “..I loved the condo…” and didn’t want it to get lost in problems they had with a PRIOR rental they secured from another rental owner and hotel staff by the hotel pools. I have no connection to the larger house in Punaluu these guests rented. I own just the one condo that the guests moved into for their final 3 nights. I have regular treatment for the “bugs” common in Hawaii and am glad to hear the guests saw no bugs/rodents in my unit. Thank you for calling to my attention the need for a new set of pans – this is something I do on a regular basis but it appears I was a little slow this time. As to the problem the guests had with the hotel – the resort is large and each section have their own pools and accompanying furniture as it would be difficult to have enough available for all guests at hotel, guests houses, and two sets of condos by each pool. I always advise that my guests are welcome to use all hotel facilities except for the pools and tennis court and the condo association has 2 pools (and our pools are heated for night swims and hotels are not) and 2 tennis courts. Of course this doesn’t excuse any rude comments from hotel staff, but I have no connection with hotel staff however if I had heard quicker I would have tried to follow-up with hotel management. However my guests are welcome at the outside restaurant next to their pool for lunch, a drink and watch the surfers go by and all their 6 restaurants, golf courses, and rentals of bikes, horseback riding, and other such excursions and are welcome to arranged these at the hotels excursion desk. The excursion desk will have additional suggests for you. So come and enjoy all the amenities that available for you. Aloha Trish

Beautiful condo, fantastic vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about Hawaii! Once we got out to the condo, we found it to be just as the pictures and reviews had indicated; clean, comfortable and very homey. So nice to be on vacation and not in a hotel. My kids loved the heated pool!!!

Turtle bay was also very family friendly and the beach was very calm for the kids to swim in. The area was very quiet and the balcony was so nice to sit and have a cup of coffee on each morning.

If you have a family and you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to call "home" away from home, Trish's condo is a great choice!!

We will be heading back to Hawaii next year, not certain back to Oahu, we may get out and explore another amazing island, but when we do come back, I would definitely rent this condo again!!

Epic Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the condo for 8 days/7 nights. The condo was clean and Trish provided very detailed directions, so it was easy to find. We loved being within walking distance of the beautiful Turtle Bay Resort. The condo made packing easy, as it allowed us to pack lightly and wash our clothes/beach towels each day. I highly recommend Ola's Restaurant at Turtle Bay Resort for dinner. The food, atmosphere, and service were amazing and they even put a special table for us closer to the water. The town of Hale'iwa was so much fun, featuring the famous Matsumoto's Shaved Ice. Kailua Beach (Google Maps: Kailua Beach Park) is very much worth the drive. It was our favorite beach with crystal clear blue water, fine white sand, paddle boarding, kayaking, and nearby tiny islands easily accessible by paddle board. The only thing I'd say regarding the condo is that it was comfortable for 5 people. I do think that it'd be a stretch to sleep 7 comfortably unless a couple of those were small children. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the condo and we'd definitely stay there again. The condo was fully stocked with all that we needed (not including food, of course). Thank you, Trish, for providing us with a lovely place to stay during our epic family vacation.

Owner's Response: I am so glad my guests enjoyed their stay and thank you for the great review, the nice things you said about me and for the many suggestions you provided for visitors to see and do while here!. And I believe it is comfortable for 6 guests however 7 does push the window something I share with larger guest groups who inquire. The seventh person sleeping accommodation is on a portable futon but I like to have the option open for those willing to be more cozy and especially for those guests who envision being out and about visiting our beautiful island for the majority of their stay. Aloha and I look forward to your stay at my condo.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

The condo was in a great location in the North Shore - close to famous food trucks, Haleiwa town, Polynesian Cultural Center, Shark's cove, grocery stores, jogging trail, Waimea Bay/Falls, and eateries (especially loved Ted's Bakery). Condo was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. Kitchen was fully stocked with necessities (you provide the food, of course) and the area was nice and quiet. Trish provided helpful information prior to our arrival, the condo was easy to find, access was easy, too. We enjoyed our stay in Turtle Bay.

Amazing Unit

  • 4 of 5

The pictures shown is exactly what you get, an amazing unit, home away from home. This unit was perfect, close walk to beaches at Turtle Bay Resort. 2 Foodlands one in Laie and one in Pupukea. Rented a car for the 10 day stay and toured the entire island of Oahu with the exception of the Waianae side of the island. This was my third visit to the island and wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. This whole area is very quiet and away from all that commercial Waikiki. I never met Trish as there was absolutely no issue's with the unit and this being my third time to the island I would have no questions to ask her. I did email her and told her that the unit was amazing and she responded back immediately that she was glad we liked it. My only issue was having to leave and return to the cold, blistery winter up in Canada. We all had a wonderful vacation, the unit was exactly what we expected and when I go back in a few years again hopefully, I can stay here again.
