Unique, round lakefront home on quiet dead end road. Short walk on level lot from house to 75' of cleared stone beach frontage and private EZ dock. Room to moor your boat, fish and swim. Southwest exposure with spectacular sunsets. House has full glass windows for panoramic views of lake. Upper level has 2 bedrooms with an adjoining full bath. Kitchen/dining area and living room with a free-standing fireplace. Entertainment provided includes a new 48" HDTV with gaming inputs, DVD,stereo system and board games. Additional smaller TV's are located in both bedrooms. The lower level has 1 bedroom, a full bath, family room with sofa bed and a set of bunk beds, a small refrigerator and microwave, entertainment center with TV/DVD and air hockey game. Expanded cable TV & WIFI.
Exterior Amenities: The deck on the upper level has a table and chairs, a BBQ grill and a lockable children's gate at the stairway. There are only 2 steps from the circular driveway to the front door allowing easy entry.The lower level walks out to the level lot with no stairs to the lakefront. Near the lakefront there is a bonfire area, shaded picnic table and another propane BBQ. An additional charcoal BBQ is located outside the lower level. A hammock in the yard is situated next to the children's sandbox. Since there are no interior stairs between the levels, an intercom system provides communication between the levels. Electric outlet at the lakefront for additional intercom, radio, etc. Horse shoe pit and dartboard.
Area Attractions and Amenities: In addition to the lake itself, the Lake Wallenpaupack area has many attractions to offer. The house is located in a private community which is adjacent to the Lacawac Nature Preserve. Claws and Paws animal park is a 5 minute drive. There are many restaurants in the area, some of which are located directly on the lake and can be accessed by boat. Talen Energy (previously PPL )utilizes the lake for hydroelectric power, operates several campgrounds on the lake that sell gasoline and provide boat launching for a small fee. The campground stores also sell boating, fishing and food items. The nearest launch is a 5 minute drive at Ledgedale Campground. Additional support facilities such as food market, gasoline, laundromat, bank, post office, fast foods, liquor stores and restaurants are located in Hamlin (about a 10 min drive)
This property is great! Many amenities! Loved the dock, horse shoe and fire pits! We love to grill and there were many grills! Love all the windows and views of the lake!
There are many things that worked together to make this property the perfect vacation rental for our family.
First, the owners are a pleasure to work with and they are available for any questions you may have. Next, the location of the home is ideal. Lake Wallenpaupack is huge and there is a lot of boat traffic on the lake. However, this home is located in a cove that is not entered by most of the lake traffic. Although, it is a cove, it is large enough to be a lake unto itself and it is quite beautiful. The cove is quiet enough for safe kayaking.
If you have a motorboat, the Ledgeland Recreational Area has a boat launch that provides stress free boat launching for $8 and it is only about 10 minutes from the house by car, and 5 by boat at a slow speed. The dock has an area to safely secure your boat.
The dock is large enough to have many sunbathers on it at one time. For the fisher persons in your group, there are some big fish right off the end of the dock. We don't fish, but we saw them jumping.
The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are very nice. The front yard has a campfire area complete with chairs for your comfort. The owners have supplied just about anything you may need for your recreation including bikes, horseshoes, and a dartboard.
There are a ton of games and DVD's at your disposal and the porch is a great place to hang out and play Trivia Pursuit and any other game that you enjoy. The home is round and the energy flows nicely. The weather at this time was PERFECT for sleeping and everyone got some great shut eye time.
The town of Hamlin is about 15 minutes away and is very easy to get to. There are lots of great roads for adventure rides. We highly recommend this home for your family vacation. The home sleeps 8 persons comfortably.
This house is a wonderful lakefront home. Its in perfect cove that you can see all the activities of the lake but your nestled away. We have a family with small children and with this property your children can walk into the swimming area with it not being over their heads. They will love this. The new dock is great with docking for your boat. The house is very clean with cable television and Wi-Fi access so you wont miss a game or an email. This house has many amenities like horse shoes, fire pits, sandbox, and many grills located through out the property to cook anywhere. Also, air conditioners. The lake front area is great for lounging with great outdoor furniture at your finger tips for a very relaxing lake front vacation! The owners are great people to work. Never a problem. You are 10 minutes to town if you need anything or forgot anything. You wont be anything but relaxed if you rent this property.
This property is a beautiful place and very family friendly. It’s nestled in a cove in the best part of the lake. The entrance to the water to swim is great if you have small children they can walk in the water a long way without it being over their heads. They will love it. The new dock is also comfortable and wide enough to sit many people and enjoy the great sunsets & fishing. This house is lovely with all the amenities like at home you can wish for, along with a great deck and grills for dining outside. It’s a very comfortable and very clean house to relax and enjoy your vacation! The owners are a joy to work with for this rental, they are very kind people. We hope to make it back for many summers.
