Wonderful house!

  • 5 of 5

Having read the other reviews, they have summed this house up perfectly! The photographs really don't do it justice. It is extremely comfortable with wonderful outdoor seating areas. The kitchen is well appointed, the beds are comfortable, the neighbourhood is quiet and we loved the architecture and stylish furnishings. Margaret was excellent to work with. We were very disappointed not to be ale to stay longer. Highly recommended for beautiful Santa Barbara.

Beautiful, comfortable home from hone

  • 5 of 5

I love this house and I wish it was mine! After a long flight from the UK to find this waiting for us was fantastic. It only has two bedrooms but is actually very spacious, the master bedroom upstairs is enormous with a very generous sitting area. It is very well furnished, lovely comfortable sofas, big dining table, beautiful bits of artwork around the house. The owners obviously love and cherish this house and you can tell, it is not your average holiday let. We have travelled a lot, often renting holiday homes which we much prefer to a hotel room for long stays and this house has to be one of our favourites. Everything was beautifully clean and welcoming. Margaret, the owner, was a joy to to correspond with, all during the booking process she replied immediately and made everything so easy. She made sure we could get into the house immediately on our arrival, no having to pick up a key from a managing agent In another city, which has happened with us before! I felt that I would have been able to call her at any time with any query and she would have responded immediately. The house is located in a very quiet and peaceful residential area, tucked away but very easy to find (Margaret gave excellent directions). We walked into town a number of times, about a 20 minute walk. Some of the highlights for me were having breakfast looking out over Santa Barbara with the sea glinting in the distance, sometimes looking down onto the 'marine layer', which to us Brits is fog, feeling smug because we would be sitting in beautiful sunshine, and relaxing on the terrace, on a comfortable sun lounger with the fountain tinkling and just soaking up the beautiful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this home and we would certainly return. Thanks Margaret for an absolutely perfect stay.

A Touch of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We had been looking forward to visiting Santa Barbara and relaxing in this beautiful home- well, the reality of this experience exceeded by far all my expectations. It was heaven!

Perfectly located, charming beyond words, spotless, beautifully maintained and decorated right out of a magazine. The views!! Front of the home is the ocean. Ocean views during the day were amazing but at sunset the views took my breath away. In the back of the home was a private courtyard- a true oasis. Surrounded by the aroma of lemon and orange trees is the bubbling fountain, the Mexican Tile, and as you gaze into the surroundings, one hears the church bells chime. Yes- Paradise!

Inside the home is a top notch kitchen with first rate appliances, great dishes, silverware and gadgets. I was impressed how well stocked the kitchen was.

The bathrooms were again lovely- very large, high ceilings, with alot of natural light.

The only down side- was having to leave this home. I will be back soon!

Wonderful home and gardens

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this conveniently located home. The house catches the sun throughout the day and the living room fireplace a wonderful retreat in the evenings. Margaret went beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was comfortable. We will be back.

Lovely Santa Barbara Spanish Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Jody and I want to thank you, Margaret, for allowing us to use your wonderful home this past weekend. Both the indoor and outdoor living spaces were in excellent condition. The living room was warm and inviting, the kitchen was well-appointed, and the master bedroom (with its cozy sitting room) was decorated with a lovely touch. It felt as though we were living in a “home” of our own, rather than simply a “house” for rent. Needless to say, because of your hospitality, we had a wonderful time in Santa Barbara.

During our stay in Santa Barbara, we had planned to engage in a variety of activities – shopping at Paseo Nuevo, La Arcada, Santa Barbara Public Market, and Coast Village Road in Montecito; visiting the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and Santa Barbara Mission; and eating at several of the ethnic restaurants scattered throughout the city. But, once we arrived at your home and saw the beautiful patio with an amazing view of the valley below, we opted, instead, to spend a large portion of each day relaxing on the patio – a leisurely breakfast in the early morning; reading our favorite novels in the late morning and early afternoon; and enjoying a selection of cheeses and cured meats purchased from the local cheese shop (C’est Cheese; in particular, their prosciutto is terrific) in the early evening. Throw into the background a little James Taylor and Carole King singing their favorite songs at the Troubadour and life doesn’t get much better than that!

Rest assured that someday soon we’ll be returning to Santa Barbara, and when we do, we’ll be sure to “tap” you on the shoulder to see if your house is available! Once again, thank you for your hospitality.

Beautiful mission home in the hills

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful 2 bedroom home in the hills. The feel of the house is that this is a home, not a rental house. There is wonderful artwork all over the house, the furniture and decor is mission style. We had breakfast everyday on the large patio with a water feature. There is a great view of the town and ocean from the main bedroom balcony. The home is situated minutes from the grocery store and 10 minutes from just about any where in Santa Barbara. The owner was very responsive to the few questions we had upon arrival. The home and grounds are very well kept up. We were in town for a wedding. In addition to the wedding a highlight for us was attending a concert at the Santa Barbara bowl. We enjoyed the town and this home. It was a perfect for 2 couples.

We would definitely stay here again if we travel to Santa Barbara again.
