Relax, unwind and enjoy a great view!

  • 5 of 5

I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful condition of the house, with it's tasteful decorations. We were very comfortable, and the Master Suite had a temperpedic mattress which my husband was thrilled with. Both daughters had their own bedrooms which were comfortable as well. The deck was made for sun bathing or relaxing. It was hard finding the place at night as my GPS could not pinpoint the location, and the mailbox number was one digit off. Be sure to get emailed lockbox instructions, we had to play a bit to get the correct combination. You leave payment for the cleaning person on the desk when you leave. Joe keeps the place neat and clean. We made sure to keep the screen doors shut at night, so that the neighborhood cats did not chase any furry visitors inside. We liked the location, it was not as hot in Waikoloa Village as it is down near the beach, so evenings were very pleasant and not too hot, just comfortably warm. It was wonderful being in a home where you could truly relax and cook your own breakfast in the mornings. I liked the location as were were only 50 minutes from Hilo if you took the Saddle Back, about 12 min. from the Beach Village, very close to a local market with great food selections, 15 minutes from Hapuna Beach. I loved the kitchen, it had a great ambiance. We would often go out on the deck and enjoy the sunset! I would not hesitate to stay here again, thank you Joe!!

The best value in Waikoloa! comfortable, clean and homey -we will be back!

  • 5 of 5

ALoha - our family of 5 will definitely stay here again. The PLUSES far exceed the negatives. Pluses: BIG furnished home with well equipped kitchen and ample living room space. Easy access to beach stores golf etc....smoking view of the ocean and lots of stars at night. We are an active family that spent our days exploring the island or at the beach. We would used the well equipped kitchen often - setting up breakfasts, picnic lunches and awesome dinners. We felt at home here ! The price per night is insanely affordable for what you get. The yard is in "transition" and wasn't a big deal as the huge deck was all we needed to spend our outside time on!. The owner is transitioning to a "dry" yard for easier maintenance so we totally understand. The past negative comments doesn't make any sense. WE found this place to be perfect for our needs and ur Hawaii vacation.

It was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. If you come to Hawaii to stay in the "yard" than don't stay here. If you want a comfortable, relaxing "home" to stay in while saving lots of money to spend on activities or nice bottles of wine - then stay here. We were lucky to have found it. Again - you can't beat the price for what you get! Thank you Joe - we will be back next year!

NEEDS MAJOR TLC

  • 1 of 5

This property should not be rented out until major concerns are addressed. Pictures are old and dated. Trees obstruct the view. Cleanliness of carpets shades and deck are a 0. Barbecue should be trashed. Mattresses need to be replaced. Bad staining. Ant mice and lizards are a big problem. Not a very good experience. I have nothing good to say about this property. As a renter I should not have to run around for propane, get the t.v. and Wi-Fi turned back on.(bill was not paid).

Best Value on the Island

  • 5 of 5

WOW what a place!!!! And such a great value. My "neat-freak-relatives" were green with envy when they saw this place. Where are you going to sleep 6 adults, in very comfortable beds, in a large house, for the price of one, 450 square foot, mid range hotel room? Nowhere else on this Island. This is not a condo, this is a house, and a house with a great view and some privacy. It is decorated and furnished more like a house than the typical VRBO. The view is fantastic, and the house is so well equipped. The Appliances are top of the line. We watched sunsets on the deck every night. We stayed for 4 nights to extend our time on the Island at the end of a family vacation. Joe, the owner was a joy to work with. The onsite help greeted us and she was very helpful. This is only 15 minute drive from the best beaches on the Island and we saved a fortune by providing our own breakfast, lunch and some dinners. Car rental was very cheap for our full sized car (http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/). This is also much closer to the Volcano side of the Island where much of the tourist stuff is located. The entrance to the new saddle road, that goes over the center of the Island to Hilo, is less than 10 minutes from here. And it is now a smooth highway. We also got some great trade winds. This makes it much cooler at night than staying down in Kona, where there are no good beaches. I highly recommend this gem...you will not be disappointed. the pictures do not do it justice. Next time we are coming back with friends.

Fantastic Views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it! It was our first trip to Hawaii and first time booking arrangements via the VRBO website. We were extremely pleased upon opening the front door and finding everything as depicted in the website pictures. There were no surprises. The home is furnished beautifully, very comfortable and functional. The house is on higher ground and the wrap around porch has breathtaking views of the mountains and sunsets. We even hosted a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding and prepared all the food in the well equipped kitchen. We would love to return one day. What an amazing memory!
