We stayed here for 10 days in July and absolutely loved the condo and its location. You can walk to everything easily. Close to the Pearl District and all the great food and parks it has to offer. You can quickly access the Max with a few minutes walk. You can watch the trains come across the bridge and the boats zip up and down the river. You have access to Riverfront Park right out your door.Condo has AC which was great since we were there during the record heat wave of 106 degrees. Many places do not have AC and we would have been miserable without it!! Huge TV which is always nice to have even when you are on vacation. The views of the river from the living room and bedroom were awesome. The Steel Bridge is such a beautiful bridge to look at. Condo is on the first floor, but is set up so that only one other condo needs to walk by your windows.Small grocery store on the property for small things you might need. Condo was neat and clean and felt like home to us. We will always book this condo when we come to Portland.
My husband & I have been renting this condo since Nov 2014 while we searched for a home to buy. The condo is wonderful!! A beautiful view of the river& steel bridge. It's a end unit so it's very quiet & comfortable. Wayne(landlord) is WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH. I love that the grill is right outside of your patio. You can get the max, bus, street car and no need to rent a car. We hate to leave. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Linda Abraham
We stayed at this wonderful riverfront condo in Portland for a month. We loved it. So much so that we looked on it as "our place in Portland" Still do. Wayne really goes all out to provide service and communication. His condo is well stocked with the essentials, fine linens, and a very comfortable queen sized bed. A+ in every respect.
Some things to know. The Steel Bridge provides constant entertainment. Beautiful night and day with traffic, Max trains and Railroad usage at every hour. I thought the inevitable clattering of rail cars on tracks and blaring of engine horns would be too much. It was not. Just the opposite, in fact. The Steel Bridge is owned by Union Pacific. Amtrak and freight passes by regularly. This experience was constantly fascinating.
With the Willamette River right out side, the river provides a parade of boats from freighters to kayaks to keep your view constantly changing. The large boats need the bridge raised to pass. Everything stops. The trains, the traffic, bicyclists and pedestrians all wait while the bridge raises, waits for the boats to pass, and lowers. We loved every minute.
Portland is accessible so easily from this location. We got 30 day passes from Trimet, highly recommended. We walked all over the city and downtown areas getting a huge amount of exercise and fun. We ate really well and we walked it off. We shopped and gawked and rode and walked. Rain or shine. Day or night. We had so much fun, learned so much history, and got to "know" Portland.
Trimet, all of it, buses, street cars and light rail, is a model of how public transportation is so important and useful. Max stations were within blocks of the condo, transfers to the growing street car system and thorough bus system easy, all with just a little or no waiting. We traveled Trimet and loved it.
Walking everywhere we went was easy, safe, and interesting. The Lan Su Chinese garden is just blocks away and worth visiting several times. Saturday market interesting and fun. Food carts are all over the city and mostly tasty. The main Library is a great resource. We went to plays, concerts (Pink Martini at Pioneer Square, for instance), movies (don't miss the Living Room Theater by Powell's), oh and did I mention Powell's? What a great city this is!
I was lucky enough to get this condo again this year. I've stayed here many times and I really can't think of anything negative to say about this condo. It's all positive. The landlord is so easy to work with and is so friendly. I'm allergic to anything you can think of and getting a condo with leather furniture is a plus for me. It's always clean, well supplied and the bed is very confortable. Great neighbors by you and this is one thing I have found with renting so many of these condo's is sooooo important. (Who the neighbors are) The view.....awww it's great. Couldn't wait to get up in the morning and have breakfast on patio. If you need a condo on the river you will never be sorry. Thank you Wayne for allowing us to stay at your condo again. You're the best. Linda
I am sitting here now and can't believe how great it is. Obviously location, but view is great, furnishings are perfect, owner was responsive and easy to deal with, can walk to everything, running and biking trail right out the back door. Cannot recommend it enough.
I stayed in this condo many times and as you can see. It's booked all the time. I can't even get in when I'm in town. Grab it if it's available. Great place to stay and a wonderful landlord. Linda Abraham
