Located on one of the many golf courses of the Canadian Lakes Resort area, this is a great getaway for Summer or Fall golf, Fall color tours and cross country skiing in the winter. Two World class golf courses and dining facilities - Tullymore and St Ives - are both 10 minutes away.
The home has been described as 'very cozy' and is family friendly. Fireplaces on both floors make this a great place to visit in the Winter time. The Canadian Lakes Resort area has all kinds of family activities and is a great place to visit.
Last minute Fall (non Season weekend, three day minimum) reservations are welcome! Call and we will make the arrangements. Discounted off season Winter rates are negotiable. Call or write to discuss.
My father built this home in the late 70's and lived here with my mother until he passed away in 2001. I purchased the home from my siblings a few years later and have enjoyed long weekend getaways here since then. It is not a cottage, it is a year-round home. I did not purchase it as a rental, but allowing people to come and visit has allowed me to help pay for some of the expenses, maintenance and improvements associated with the home. My hope is that some day I will be able to retire and move into the home.
Richard Berkfield purchased this house in 2004
If you have Friends or Family living in Canadian Lakes, ask me about the Friends and Family Discount! The rental clients we are looking for are golfers, folks coming up for weddings and family reunions.
FALL GOLF / COLOR SPECIAL: Enjoy a Fall color or golf weekend (Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon) for $300 plus $100 cleaning and linen fee. Check in at 4:00 PM Thursday, check out at 4:00 PM Sunday (Three night stay).
The area is very relaxing. Go for walks, bike rides, or play a little golf. The courses in the area vary from very easy for beginners to very difficult for the more advanced golfers. There are some great places to eat in the area or it's fun to barbecue on the deck and watch the golfers go by while you sip your drink at the table.
In the Winter park yourself in front of the fireplace and enjoy a good book while watching the deer walk by in the snow. Very relaxing.
My wife and I have been renting homes and cottages in Canadian Lakes for several years. This home is by far the nicest and cleanest home we have rented. The home is clean and comfortable. The setting is wonderful, the neighbors are great. When we vacation here we feel like we leave our home downstate to come to our "other home" in Canadian Lakes.
We wanted to escape the Arizona heat, thus we went in search of a quiet, clean, comfortable and enjoyable location. Richard's property was perfect for us. Everything was exactly as represented and illustrated. We did not lack for any amenities throughout our stay - everything we needed was provided. Richard proved to be highly helpful by providing us a steady stream of relevant information as to activities.
We took great advantage of the many activities at Canadian Lakes as well as the surrounding part of Michigan. We golfed several times, canoed with the canoe Richard provided and placed at a nearby boat launch, rode bicycles he provided, attended Canadian Lakes concerts, picnics, fireworks, went to the beach, used the library - well the list goes on and on. Clearly, we entirely recommend staying at this lovely home!
We rented this property for my son and his wife to stay in while visiting us at Canadian Lakes. They found the home perfect for their needs. It was spotless and well cared for. There was every appliance and device you could ever ask for. The front of the cottage offered beautiful views of the 6th hole of the Highland Golf course, as well as the deer and the turkeys which roam through the area. They slept well in this peaceful relaxing setting and comfortable beds. Communication with the owner was great and the housekeeper was truly a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this rental.
Our families enjoyed our stay in your home. The grandchildren loved the Turkey and Deer parading around without a care for humans in the area. Close to swimming for the children, the fishing was marvelous as well. The house was neat and tidy, the kitchen was well stocked. Very relaxing atmosphere in a serene setting. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a short getaway or a long vacation.
Located in central Michigan it offers a great area to travel for day trips.
We went to Lansing, Grand Rapids and Mount Pleasant and home that eve.
The area is a bit remote but very close to several great golf course's and many lakes.
The property is older but has been completely remodeled and is in great condition. The owner is very helpful and will work with you to make your trip a good experience. With a bath and bedroom on each floor it's a great couples choice.
This was everything we had thought it would be - on and near great golf courses, near fishing, near hiking, near Lake Michigan. The owner was an absolute pleasure to work with and provided anything we needed. I would definitely go back.
Great week with my whole family.
Home is very clean and has all of the amenities that a family would ever need.
Great view of the golf course and very convenient to all of the Canadian Lakes facilities
Would recommend this home to anyone, great place, great owners!!!!!.
