Stylish and cosy 2 room appartment in the center of Amsterdam!
Only a 5 minute walk to the Vondelpark, the Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijks-museums, Concertgebouw, Leidseplein and the Canal Belt.
This convenient and comfortably furnished 2 room apartment (55m2) is perfectly located on the border of the Jordaan neighbourhood and Old West. It has 1 bedroom and a large living-room & kitchen.
The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you need (fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils) and there is a large dining table with 4 chairs. Relax in the inviting sitting area with TV and DVD, wireless internet. The peaceful bedroom with double bed is very quiet at the back of the apartment for a restful sleep. There is no washing machine, but there's a laundry 20m from the apartment.
The location is very convenient as you can walk everywhere.
Tired of walking? There are also tram stops to all corners of the city right in front of the apartment. 100m away there is a bike rental shop called Bike4u.
It's a vibrant and buzzing neighborhood full of every kind of shop you can think of! There are lots of restaurants on the doorstep, cafes and several local bars. It has a hip atmosphere and lots of young artists and creatives live in the area.
The Hallen is the hotspot in Amsterdam with place to eat, cinema and culture centre. The Hallen is only a 2 minute walk.
The daily Ten Kate market (except Sunday) is only 100m from the apartment and you can stock up with fresh vegetables, fish, flowers and much more!
Plaese note that smoking is not allowed in this apartment.
Located on the 1st floor, there is only 1 flight of stairs to the apartment. This is the perfect place for a relaxing stay in Amsterdam for a couple or a pair of friends!
Public transport to all city directions just in front of the apartment.
After scouring the internet tirelessly for inexpensive vacation rentals, including Airbnb, close to Amsterdam's sights and affordable, Marijn's home fit the description.
Marijn's apartment is situated near bus stations and trams for easy public transportation. However, because it is so close to some of Amsterdam's main attractions; i.e., Museumplein, Dam Square, De Pijp, De 9 Straatjes, De Wallen, Anne Frank Huis, etc., I ended up walking almost everywhere. You can practically walk to most sights within less than 15 minutes which was rather convenient.
It was also nice to come back to a spacious place, which in Europe for an affordable rate is not always easy to find, with all the essentials. There is a living room area with a TV and couch, large windows for those who prefer natural light, a bathroom with shower, dinning room area, kitchen, and bedroom. The place also comes with Wi-Fi. Although the Wi-Fi was down for a day, I notified Marijn and he contacted the internet service provider to quickly resolve the issue.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Amsterdam for 3 nights. We loved this apartment. Marijn was very friendly which made the booking process smooth, and his directions for getting to/from apartment from Schipol were greatly appreciated.
The apartment was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed (coffee, utensils, kitchen paper etc.). It was a great spot for people watching too!
The area is really chilled, with lots of places to eat and drink nearby. We spent most of our time in Vondelpark with a picnic because the weather was so amazing and it's a 5-10 minute stroll from the apartment, but there is no shortage of places to visit regardless of weather. We tried out De Foodhallen too, which is an indoor food market just around the corner - it sells a variety of food and drink so would recommend trying it out.
We'll definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family and we will undoubtedly be staying here again too!
After coming directly from our microscopic VRBO in Paris, we thought we had hit gold with Marijn's apartment! Lots of space to settle down and make ourselves comfortable. Marijn was so accommodating and pleasant to deal with. His instructions on how to get to the apartment by tram from the train station were clear and easy. No need for a taxi. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we might need, including welcoming tea and coffee. Very clean and comfy, and nicely decorated. There were only two things I found slightly inconvenient. The shower head must remain low, and the spray must be controlled, so that water does not spray all over the sink and bathroom floor. The other challenge was the bedroom. The bed takes up most of the bedroom and is against the window wall so the "inside" person has to climb over the "outside" person. Plus there was no shelf for the "inside" person to put glasses or book, and the pillows were very thin. But the mattress was a queen size and very comfortable. So really only minor issues that can be easily accommodated. The bedroom overlooks backyards so is very quiet. Great for sleeping. But the street front is alive with bicyclers, trams, businesses, bakeries... The living room area is a nice place to sit and people watch. With the tram right at the corner to anywhere in the city, we found the location very convenient. The restaurant we absolutely adored was Balthazar ( a five minute walk from the apartment) which has great reviews, but needs a reservation at least a month in advance. Another close-by inexpensive restaurant with wonderful food and staff is Jacketz (baked potatoes stuffed with everything). We picked up pastry-breakfast each morning at the bakery across the street on the corner. Wonderful and friendly. I recommend buying an all day tram pass and taking advantage of this great mode of transportation, almost like a hop on, hop off bus. I think it breaks even after 3 entries. The other thing I would recommend is to buy Anne Frank House tickets on line (very few are allotted but it saves the 4 hour wait in line). Plan your Amsterdam trip around whatever tickets you can get for your trip. The tour is not to be missed. Also getting the Museum Pass in advance is a huge time and money saver.
My husband and I stayed at Marijn's apartment for one week during our honeymoon. We really loved this apartment. First of all, it is very spacious (which is not common in Europe). There is a large living room and dining area, one bedroom, and a nice sized kitchens (with plenty of dishes, pots and pans). The owner also provided us with some necessities like olive oil, salt and pepper, tea, etc, which was very nice. The best thing about this apartment is the location. It is located near plenty of cafes, bakeries and all kinds of restaurants. It was also very easy to find as it is right by a tram stop. We ended up walking almost everywhere since the area is so nice, but there are also multiple tram stops right near the apartment. My husband and I felt very safe there as well.
The apartment was very clean and all the appliances/amenities worked perfectly. Overall we would definitely stay here again and recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay in Amsterdam.
Thanks Marijn for the wonderful stay at your apartment! We hope to come back again someday!
This was my first time using VRBO, so have to admit I was a little nervouse. Everything turned out GREAT! Marijn was really prompt and helpful with all communication and the apartment was perfect for our stay. We were close to everything we wanted to see/do, but not in the middle of tourists either. Marijn was not available when we arrived but made easy arrangements for us and visited as soon as he could. He was very helpful in answering my questions and had a great binder of info for guests. The apartment is close to 3 tram lines and has both markts and restaraunts close by to make your stay easy. Deinitely recommend this location and host!
My husband and I stayed here for four nights, and after a month of travelling in Europe we were amazed at how large the apartment was! Marijn was very nice and helped us with directions and suggestions for restaurants and activities. He had stocked the apartment with coffee, sugar, tea, etc. which was great and the kitchen was well equipped. The apartment is a great location and we were able to walk almost everywhere, except for when it rained and we wanted to get somewhere quicker. If you didn’t want to walk, there are a number of tram stops directly beside the apartment. The wifi was very fast, and the separate bedroom had a comfortable bed and black out blinds. There is also a very large kitchen table which was very nice to eat and drink at (especially with the rain on our trip). The stairs leading up to the apartment are extremely steep (although we noticed this in a few places in Amsterdam), which may be difficult for some. That being said, it is located on the first floor so there are not too many stairs. We would be happy to return to this apartment if we are in Amsterdam again!
Within walking distance from the Vondelpark, the Van Gogh museum, Stedelelijkmuseum and Rijksmuseum and the city centre. 20 minutes walk to the Anne Frank-house
