My wife and I have owned and managed this unit since 2008 - we have nothing but 5 star reviews.

At this height you can keep the drapes wide open all day; enjoy your privacy and the view. There is no pool noise at this level. Unwind and admire the soaring views from your well furnished balcony during the day and enjoy a memorable sunset seafood feast in the evening. All exterior walls facing the ocean in the living area or the Master Bedroom are a continuous run of nine foot high floor to ceiling glass with glass doors. You have an unobstructed panoramic views from virtually anywhere in your condo!

The Master Bedroom features a King Size bed, ceiling fan, two nightstands with lamps, one large chest of drawers with mirror, and television with DVD player. Fine quality pillowtop bedding and custom bedcovers and linens are provided. Close the light blocking designer curtains at night and enjoy that well deserved morning snooze. Adjoining the Master Bedroom is a double sink Vanity area and an oversized closet.

The closet is large enough to let a small child have their own little room. The vanity adjoins the tiled Master Bathroom which features a corner Jacuzzi garden tub and shower.

The tiled Living area features a sofa and loveseat combination with a cool and colorful lime green finish. The sofa converts to a comfortable queen size heavy-duty, commercial grade, sleeper bed. Enjoy the option of the light blocking designer drapes. An entertainment center has a television, DVD/CD system to play your favorite CD’s and beach music. High speed Internet ethernet access is available(subscription rates apply).

The Dining area has a full size dining table and six chairs with overhead lighting. There is a kitchen bar nearby that seats three.

The beautifully decorated Guest Bedroom has a Queen Size bed, ceiling fan, two chest-style nightstands each with lamps, one large chest of drawers with mirror, and television with DVD player. Fine quality pillow top bedding and linens are provided. It adjoins a full sized bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The guestroom window faces north and has an panoramic view of Lake Shelby.

There is a bunk room with two twin beds. Please note: A few units in Lighthouse are advertising one bedroom units with bunk rooms as two bedrooms. Compare wisely. A bunk room is really not a suitable space for adults but it’s a cute little room your kids will absolutely love! It is furnished with two twin beds and a television with a DVD player. The twin doors close to give the space some peace and quiet. It even has an exterior north window with blinds.

The kitchen is fully stocked. All fine quality china, glassware and stainless steel flatware is provided with service for up to eight guests. Everything to prepare a quick snack or a gourmet dinner is right at your fingertips. There is a double stainless steel sink with disposal, dishwasher, electric stove with cook top, microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, toaster, can opener, blender, pots and pans, steak knives, and assorted serving pieces. There is a large pantry with plenty of shelves and cabinet storage galore!

There is a large laundry/utility room at the entrance with a full size washer and dryer. For your convenience an iron with ironing board, broom and vacuum cleaner is provided. This room is an excellent storage area for coolers or beach toys.

Your condo is a professionally decorated work of art. You will be pleased with the unique and tasteful decor, comfortable quality furniture and wall art. The walls are a warm butter yellow color. The unit is professionally cleaned between each guest.

There are three pools on the property. One is a 'zero entry' fountain pool. The other large pool nearby is for swimming. The third pool is a seasonally heated indoor pool.

Check out the Fitness Center. Relax in the dry sauna or work out on the treadmills, cross trainers, and weight machines. There are two outdoor hot tubs.

The Lighthouse Condominium proudly stands on the property where the famous landmark Lighthouse Motel once stood. It is only a few frisbee throws away from The Sea and Suds; the only “over-the-beach” seafood restaurant-pier in the area. Don't miss the all-new Hangout Beach bar. Go north on Highway 59 you will find Lulu’s, owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister, Lucy Buffett. Jimmy has been known to make guest appearances.

Lighthouse is located just a few miles away from Supermarkets, Wal-Mart and Target. Our goal is to have you as a frequent guest. Your satisfaction is our top priority.

My name is Howard Wadsworth, you will probably be dealing with me on the rental. My wife Annettee and I have have been married for 28 years and have two beautiful girls, ages 16, and 12. We are from Auburn, Alabama, in east central Alabama just four hours north of our famous white sand beaches. For the past 31 years I have owned a jewelry business specializing in loose diamonds and fine diamond jewelry and Annettee has been selling local cable TV advertising for the last 23 years. We both love to travel with our children to the beach or to our lake cabin nearby.

We bought our unit at Lighthouse because we knew it was going to be the premier location to spend precious vacation time. It is built on the site of the old Lighthouse Motel. So many guests want to return to their special beach with their children and grandchildren. I have been impressed with the loyalty and sentimental feelings so many of our guests have have with this particular strech of sand. It is truly a special place to so many. My wife and I both frequented the area before we met and always referred to the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area as 'the beach' .

We have many happy memories there and we feel at home there. We know the good restaurants where the locals eat and the special places to visit. I'll be glad to share these with you. The area has a unique feel and truly is a place where everyone feels at ease. It's quaint but not stuffy, fun but not too rowdy. If you are looking for a family atmosphere or want to kick up your heels a little, this is the place! The new Motto for the City of Gulf Shores says it very well: 'Small Town, Big Beach'

What makes this condo unique

Very few vacationers have the opportunity to enjoy a penthouse view on such a spacious balcony. Since no one can see in, except the sea gulls that fly by, you can enjoy your privacy with the drapes wide open all day! At this height you can still hear the waves and feel the wind but not hear the pool noise. My favorite thing to do at least once every trip is to visit the local seafood grocery. We have them prepare steamed cajun shrimp and gumbo with all the trimmings. We enjoy this special meal on the balcony overlooking the gulf from eighteen floors up and toast the sunset!

Let me start by saying that me, my daughter, and my mother stayed at your condo July 23rd through July 26th and it was wonderful. It was my daughters first trip to the beach and she was impressed. She is 5 and thought the bonus (bunk) room was the neatest thing. Before we left to come home we were already making plans to come back next year. The condo was nice and the furnishings were great. I left feeling like I got what I paid for, and some. I looked at lots of condos on line before choosing yours, and the decor is what sold me. I noticed you had a place in Orange Beach also. I've never understood why people took a week when they went on vacation but I do now. Three days is not enough time to do everything we wanted to do. Thanks to you and your wife for having such a wonderful place for us to come to and making our first vacation something we can look back on and look forward to each year.

Beautiful condo with a beautiful view!

We had a fantastic relaxing time at this condo. Very clean and it provided all the necessary items in the kitchen! Howard was very easy to deal with and we are grateful that he allowed us to stay! Thank you for a well rested beach filled vacation!

AMAZING CONDO

MUCH IN NEED OF SOME R & R, I JUST SPENT FOUR WEEKS IN THIS WONDERFUL CONDO. THE VIEW IS FANTASTIC. THE CONDO HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED FOR COOKING AND RELAXED LIVING. ONE OF THE CLEANEST CONDO'S WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN. HOWARD IF ABSOLUTELY GREAT TO WORK WITH. WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT!

Fall Break

This condo was fantastic! The pictures really do not do it justice! Our kids loved the bunk beds and I loved waking up to a spectacular view of the Gulf. We watched dolphins playing on 3 separate occasions from our balcony. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and plenty of space to move around without being right on top of each other. We have a family of 4, but this condo could have easily accommodated more people. We ate out almost every meal because there are just so many choices within a few minutes of the condo, but the kitchen was well stocked had we decided to have a home cooked meal. The outdoor pools were very cold, but that is to be expected in October. My kids are 2 and 4 and they loved the fountains in the zero entry pool, although I didn't let them play in them much because of the temperature. The indoor pools were nice and warm when the kids had their fill of the sand and salt water. I will definitely being saving this property to my favorites and making plans to return!!

Overall Great Stay

The room was wonderfully decorated and there were adequate supplies so that other than food you shouldn't need to go out for anything. The only problem we encountered was when washing some clothes from the beach the dryer simply would not dry them. After hours we noticed the dryer was getting extremely hot and having seen something similar happen before I surmised the dryer hose was full, which can cause a fire. When we pulled out the hose we got over 4 lbs of debris from it, which was bad and should have been something the maid service should have occasionally taken care of. After that it was fine and everything else about the stay was WONDERFUL. The owner was very easy to reach and accommodating and provided a wonderful property for us to stay in while at the beach.

Your stay was at the end of the busiest rental season since we have owned our unit. This would have been caught during the season ending deep clean we do each year in October. By the way we replaced our housekeeper with a more efficient crew. I will let them know the dryer needs to be checked on a regular basis. I appreciate you letting me know. I'll look forward to hearing from you again!

Great choice for beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the beach in Gulf Shores. The condo was beautiful and well kept. The owner and housekeeper were very pleasant to deal with, and the property was well stocked for all our needs.

Great place for a winter break!

We stayed in this unit for the month of February and had a great time. The condo is spacious and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. The king bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We loved the large balcony and the views from the 18th floor are amazing. The owners are very easy to work with. We had to have work done on the lock for the door and the owner had it taken care of immediately. The amenities at The Lighthouse are very nice. This was our first visit to Gulf Shores and we would definitely stay in this unit again if we returned. Good restaurants, beautiful beach, great condo to stay in.....priceless!
