We fell in Love with Hawaii the second we got off the plane 6 years ago. The fragrant air, the cool breeze, and the feeling of Aloha in everyday life. We share with you our Bus to explore the wonders Hawaii has to offer. Often we just take Daisy out for a sunset dinner just to reconnect to Hawaii and most of all each other!
The best part of staying with us is that you get a chance to really be up close and person to nature. Also you will have the coolest ride in town. Not a day goes by that someone isn't saying 'WOW THAT'S SO COOL!'
Thanks Daisy, Jill and Brad!
Wehad an awesome time and really enjoyed exploring the island.Driving the coast was amazing. Definatly stop for chocolate pis at Ted's Bakery soooo yummy!
Haleiwa was our favorite town and spent most of our time on the N.Shore. Driving up the east coast was beautiful.
Sharks Cove was the best snorkeling and blew Hanama Bay out of the water!
Thank you for the awesome memories:)
My week with Shoots was so amazing. We picked him up and Josh did such a great job going over the van and telling us all the best spots to camp. The van was well outfitted and had everything we needed to get us on the road after a quick stop to Safeway! Our first 3 nights we stayed at Bellow's Beach. This place is heaven on earth!! Waking up to the sounds of the ocean was great. We had great weather and really enjoyed just hanging out at the beach all day. There is a great local place to eat right outside the gate called Sweet Home Waimanalo Cafe + Market. They have the best curry wrap!! After our stay at Bellow's we headed up to the North Shore to stay at Camp Mokuleia. It was also a great place to camp. The people were so nice and they had hot showers!! We loved the North Shore so much. So much great food!!! My favorite was the Spaghettini. They had good pizza but even better mushroom ravioli. We got to see some surf competitions while were where there- wow that was cool! Camping with Shoots let us really spend quality time on the North Shore and it doesn't get much better than pulling up this sweet ride to watch the sunset on the North Shore of Hawaii!! I can't wait to do this again next year!! Thanks Hawaii Campers- Aloha
My wife was kinda on the fence about renting an old camper van. I have to admit I had second thoughts myself. Turned out that our week in Shoots was the the better end of our vacation. There's nothing like a week in Wiakiki but once we got out of Honolulu and spent our first night camping next to the waves, we knew we made the right decision. Finding cool spots to camp is a little tricky but turned out to be part of the fun. It's a different way to see the island for sure. We went everywhere, just not very quickly. Calling Shoots "slow" is the nice way to put it. That's the way it goes in a 30 year old VW though I guess. It's too bad nobody rents out newer camper vans. We would definitely do it again but I think about 10 days is all we could personally handle between hotel stays.
Shaggy was our home on wheels on Oahu. After spending a few days in hotels in Waikiki, Shaggy took us all around the island to see the real Hawaii beyond the tourist areas. Hawaii Campers provided everything we needed, except food. A quick stop at a grocery store and we were on our way. We used a campground as our base camp and took a different direction every day. Farmers' markets. Shrimp trucks. Beaches. Farms. When on a holiday, we are into meeting local people. Discovering unique places. Learning about the place we are visiting. Shaggy would also be ideal for anyone who is into surfing or hiking. Even for people staying in hotels, renting a VW van from Hawaii Campers is better value than a car rental because you can stop anytime, anywhere, make a sandwich or set out chairs to enjoy the view.
This was absolutely, hands down, the only and best way to see Oahu. Most travelers stay in Waikiki and with the exception of a few side trips, pretty much only see Waikiki. If you rent a van from Brad and Jill, you will see Waikiki if you want but SO SO much more. You'll be cruising next to locals, sleeping with the waves practically touching the van and you will probably never stay in Waikiki hotels again.
We rented Daisy for a week in March. Jill was 9 months pregnant and due to have twins any day. But that did not hinder the amazing customer service that they provided. Brad was beyond helpful and accommodating despite the fact that his wife was due any minute!
When we first arrived, Daisy wasn't quite ready for the road so we stayed a night in Tiki. The next day, we brought Tiki back and swapped her out for Daisy. Both vans were incredible but Daisy, we love you!!! Brad and Jill stock the van with everything you could possibly need for your vacation. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, lawn chairs, kitchen amenities, the works!
The vans are very well taken care of and run great. And the decor is chic and adorable. Nothing like you'd expect in a VW camper van. They are a home away from home. Your hotel and your rental car, all in one!
I could go on for days about the experience but all I can say is that there is NOTHING better than waking up, popping open the back of the van and seeing the ocean just beyond your toes. It was the most unique and relaxing way to experience the beauty of Oahu. As a young couple, we definitely felt the romantic aspect of cozying up in a van together.
We loved cruising the island and had no trouble finding camping spots. We even stayed one night in a hotel for a good shower but found ourselves missing Daisy!!!
It was unforgettable and we can't wait to go back. It's going to be our March yearly tradition. Thank you Brad and Jill for an amazing experience and congrats on the twins!!! Lindsay & Daniel
I rented Daisy as a gift for my bf. We live on Oahu and have traveled all over the islands but nothing has been more romantic than the weekend we spent with Daisy. We parked her right on the ocean's edge just past Sandy's beach the first night where we bbq'd while watching fishermen throw their nets into the water. We awoke to the waves crashing and a beautiful sunrise. We then drove her to Yokohama Bay where we again parked her on the ocean's edge and played in the beach and bbq'd and visited with the locals. The next morning we awoke to a beach all to ourselves!! Oh boy!! We spent the next two and a half hours thinking we were the luckiest ppl alive. We loved the van. We didn't need to bring a thing. Jill has thought of everything! It is super clean and very groovy! We loved all the cute dishes and furry pillows. There is nothing like waking up to the sound of the waves crashing with the one that you love! Buy some yummy food and you're good to go! Or you could stop along your way at some of the amazing places only Oahu has to offer(Ted's Bakery has a shrimp special that comes with a free piece of pie our of your choice that is onolicious! And my favorite shrimp truck located in Haleiwa is Mackey's, best breakfast on the island is Cinnamon's in Kailua(amazing crab cake eggs Benedict and carrot cake pancakes). You can take the van to Kailua and kayak to The Mokes and have a yummy breakfast at Cinnamon's! The opportunities are endless!
Dear Jill & Brad, My girlfriend surprised me with a weekend with Daisy back in April and we had SOOO MUCH FUN!! We live here and camp all over but having Daisy was a GREAT way to spend a fun and romantic weekend from one end of the island to the other.
The camper was wonderfully equipped with everything we needed for all the BBQ'ing and cooking that we did. We enjoyed candle lit dinners and being able to plug the ipod into the stereo to listen to whatever, whenever!
I am looking forward to renting Daisy or one of the other campers again but for longer than 3 days next time!!
Thank you both for helping my GF make my birthday one to remember!!
