Most importantly the bed mattresses were fantastic! We slept very well and had all that we needed! This is not a cottage, it's a beautiful, large, old home. We truly had a marvelous time! There were so many free activities at Skytop that kept us busy all day long. Go to the activities desk and get their schedule. Try everything! Perfect place for 1 family or for a family reunion with kids involved. A vacation spot that makes your life easy because it's ALL there for you! I refuse to list everything, but there have to be atleast 70 things to do. Give this place a try. You may want to go back every year!!!
Quaint and charming place for family retreat.
Convenient location on Skytop resort property. House is well provisioned and spacious .
Beautiful home with gorgeous mountain views
Skytop has a unique natural setting that is magnificent and relaxing.
Instead of beach every year it was a real nice change. So much to do. Great location.
Great place to stay in the Pocono's
We rented this home as a place for the family to stay for my daughters wedding at Skytop Lodge. The home is the last one on Fairway Drive just before you get to the main entrance to Skytop. The home is extremely comfortable with two working fireplaces, the back porch invites you to sit and relax for hours.:)...the heat worked like a charm too as the temperature began to drop during our stay. Perhaps the best surprise we had was within 30 minutes of checking in, the power went out in our area do to a car hitting a power pole on the main street...for us, the lights flickered for a second and the automatic generator kicked in and we were the only ones with power for the next 8 hours...very nice addition for that unexpected emergency. The bedrooms are comfortable with adequate storage/closet space. You are literally 2 minutes from he Skytop Lodge so it was very convenient for us. We are looking to return just on our own in the future!
Lovely home on the grounds of Skytop, PA
We were part of a two family trip to this lovely cottage on the grounds of the exclusive Skytop lodge. We chose Skytop because it is within 2 hours of NYC, and between our two families there are three teenagers who needed more than sitting at a lake, reading a book. The cottage is on the 15 tee of Skytop's golf course and because it borders the Lodge's property, we were able to use all of the facilities (swimming lake, boating lake, pools, game room, archery, tennis, crocquet, hiking trails, spa, driving range, golf course, Orvis trap shooting, restaurants, etc).We did bring bikes (recommended), fishing rods, and beach chairs and used them all. We had plenty to do throughout the week, with enough activities to keep everyone happy.
The house itself was perfect. It is clearly used for private ownership with everything being of the highest quality. The kitchen is small but perfectly outfitted with everything that we needed (even a lemon squeezer for the peck of lemons I brought!) Each bedroom was beautifully laid out, and had reading lights on both sides of the beds (being a reader, this is a big deal!). There are 4 bathrooms which completely worked with 7 people in the house. And best of all, the enclosed porch looks out onto the back yard and golf course. It was really perfect.
Although we are not golfers, we had a wonderful time, as there's so much to do. I would highly recommend this house for anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of Sktyop lodge (and the Poconos) but not pay the expensive daily rates. It's a really lovely home.
Orvis shooting and fishing Center on property. Adventure Center with climbing wall, geocaching. 35 miles of private trails; free naturalist tours; lake, 6,000 acres to explore
