My husband and I live and work in California and visit his home town, Las Cruces, as much as possible. We love to eat good food, drink good scotch, entertain, watch football (Go Cowboys!), love the arts, and visit with the family.
Patricia Ramirez purchased this house in 2007
This was the first house I saw when we were looking to buy a home. I loved it but I never imagined we could actually buy it. We saw several other houses but this house was beautiful, had a view of the Organ Mountains and was in a quiet neighborhood. There is great shopping and history in Mesilla along with hiking trails close to home.
I love the house for its unique style. High ceilings, tile floors, lots of windows at the back of the house, huge walk-in closet, double sink, jacuzzi tub, quiet area with a beautiful view.
My husband and I are planning to relocate to Las Cruces. This home is exactly the type of house that we wish to purchase. It was everything that we expected and more! We love the open floor plan and the southwestern architecture. We were saddened however to find that the neighborhood pub UMP88 had closed during our visit.
We highly recommend this home should your travels take you to Las Cruces.
My wife and I stayed here in October and November, 2014, and loved it. This was our first VRBO and we were a little hesitant but it all went fine. I love the classic NM architecture with Viga beams, arches, niches, and lots of tile. I enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods of Picacho Hills and studying the Southwest style architecture and landscaping. We hate to leave and would like to return again next year.
My wife and I spent a month at this location and liked it very much. The property was spacious, modern, and well maintained. All the comforts of home were present in the fully equipped kitchen, large living room with fireplace and entertainment center, and a gorgeous master bedroom and bathroom suite. Everything was clean and well supplied when we arrived. The owners were great to work with and very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the great views of the surrounding mountains and city lights from the back of the home.
It has been our privilege to have spent the past two winters in this beautiful home. To wake up in the mornings to breathtaking sunrises and to see the blazing coral of the sunsets reflected off the Organ Mtns. can not be described. The pictures don't do justice to this gorgeous and immaculately maintained home. On winter evenings it's so nice to cuddle up next to the gas kiva fireplace and watch TV on the big screen. The Master BR is huge and has a flatscreen TV w/ DVD and comfortable leather sofa. The Master bath has an enormous tiled shower, separate jetted tub w/ lots of candles, double sinks, separate little room for the commode, and large dressing area closet. The granite countertops throughout are the most beautiful I have ever seen and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare gourmet meals on a built-in stainless gas range. I loved having the pantry and there is also a good sized laundry room off the kitchen. The floor plan is split for privacy from the guest bedroom/bath and the office. The office has wifi, sofa and even a futon should you have extra company. If you like to hike, Picacho Hill trails are just up the road and there is a hike/bike trail along the Rio Grande very near by. The historic town of Old Mesilla is very close and has some the finest dining and shopping in Las Cruces. White Sands Ntl. Monument is less than an hour's drive and the snow white dunes are spectacular. The owners, Patricia and Rico, are wonderfully cordial and attend to any need immediately.
We stayed here for 3 months with two small children (ages 6 and 2) and it worked out very well for us. The house was clean and as described. The location is a quieter neighborhood of Las Cruces with nice views of the mountains.
It was a pleasure working with the owner to rent this property and have no hesitation in recommending this.
We stayed a week at this house and enjoyed it very much. The location allowed us to do many day trips: White Sands National Monument, Old Mesilla Plaza, Highway 28 to Stahmann's Pecan Farm and Zin Valle Winery. The view from the patio of the Organ Mountains at sunset was beautiful. The large, open kitchen, dining, and living room area with the high ceilings and skylight was especially nice.
Picacho Peak Trail is a great hike!
