Cute 3 bedroom home in Angola By The Bay only 15 minutes to Lewes, Rehobeth and Cape Henlopen State Park. Community pool, tennis, basketball, baseball field and playground are only a short walk through the woods from the front door. Community includes a marina where boating privileges can be arranged and 2 crabbing docks.
The house has 2 master suites each with a queen size bed and a third bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a stacked washer/dryer, skylights in the kitchen and a bright sun room in the front of the house. Ceiling fans throughout, central air-conditioning and the best outdoor shower in the world. Address: 23044 Linden Way Lewes,DE 19958
The house had all the bases covered. Comfortable, convenient with a well appointed kitchen my wife refused to use. Great restaurants in Rehobeth and Lewes.
We just spent a week with our daughter and her family in this beautiful home. We were surprised how big, it was on the inside, because the picture deceived us! It was clean and bright. Each bedroom had it's own bath, and we liked that the bedrooms were separated from the living area. We (the grandparents) took the back bedroom where it was very quiet. Kitchen was well stocked. We love Angola by the bay and will be back again!
This house looks unpretentious in the pictures but is a gem of a place to stay. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated for a beach vacation. The house is walking distance to the pool and recreation center. You are welcomed to take part in the complex's family activities...bingo, crafts, etc.
There is a nice outside shower at the rear of the house and a clothes line to hang your damp swim suits and towels. A/C works great and/or ceiling fans keep the home comfortable even on the most hot and humid days. The sun room is a spacious/comfortable place for the kids to play and living room/kitchen placement allow parents to monitor the children in comfort. WiFi worked great and since we had so many people streaming/using it, I was impressed. We also enjoyed the Bose radio to listen to music in the evenings.
Traffic at the beach can be trying, but once you are home at this house you can relax and enjoy the quiet. Nice veggie stand located in view of the entrance to the complex, ready for you to get fresh fruit and ice for your day outings. Home is nestled in a quiet area surrounded by woods and corn fields which you will appreciate after being stuck in the beach traffic on Route 1.
Bring your bikes and kayaks because you can easily use them here. Home is on a cul-de-sac and young children can ride in circles, to their heart's content, and stay visible from the house.
JD Shucker's was a nice place to eat, close-by, pleasant maritime decor and priced reasonably. Small local bakery is located across from the restaurant and bakes all its own items...a nice, unpretentious place for breakfast.
Take a trip to Hopkins Farm Creamery, the ice cream is fantastic and the kids can learn where their milk comes from...worth the trip. We also enjoyed the Pirate Of Lewes Expedition for the kids....great thing to do with the under 10 year old set.
From the street it looks really small, inside you find a decent kitchen - two living areas and 3 very private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. You have to drive to get anywhere, but it is a short hop to either Lewes or Rehoboth. On Route 24 (only a mile or two away) we found the Grog Shop (spirits) and JD Shuckers with some nice craft beers, good service and an abundant seafood menu. Other shopping (groceries) is out on Highway 1. We caught about 3 dozen crabs at the crab dock (there are 3) at high tide, we went kayaking in the creek (launched at the end of Elmwood) took some nice walks through the community and had an all around great time. We took our shoes off at the door as the whole place is covered with light tan carpeting!
This home was like walking into what you imagine your own beach home would look like!
The kitchen had everything a cook could think to want .... We had family visit and enjoyed crabs and spaghetti outside on the picnic table and it was not a challenge to prepare in a well stocked - well naturally lit kitchen. Every room is thought out and given a homey feel ! The location was manageable but there is congestion getting to the other beaches so having Cape Henlopen there was the attraction we went to most... Great bike trails ! We will be back ... Thanks Dan and Pam
Great place to explore the region. Neighborhood is wooded and secluded, but close enough to be at the beaches in 15 minutes. Also great for day trips to Baltimore, Annapolis and Wilmington. House was a comfortable place to relax, and especially good for families with teenagers of ages that need their own bedrooms. Community is a great place for walks, and has good amenities. Owners are well-organized and responsive. I agree with other reviewers that the house is much more spacious than the photos suggest. If business or leisure bring me back to the area, I would stay here again. Nearby Cape Henelopen State Park is well worth a visit, and beer lovers will enjoy Dogfish Head.
This home is somewhat off the beaten path (i.e. Coastal Highway that gets so jammed up with traffic) in a private subdivision (gated entry) in a private cul-de-sac. In our opinion we had roughly equal access to places in Rehoboth (outlets, Rehoboth boardwalk, etc.) as it is to Lewes (public beach, Cape Henlopen). Grocery stores (Food Lion) is quite close by, as is a small general store. Most striking is that the house has quite a lot of space - 3 nice-sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, each with their own (if rather small) bathroom. The kitchen is totally adequate (although no dishwasher, so be prepared) and stocked with more kitchen plates/cups/silverware/other utensils than most other rentals. The family room has a comfortable couch, and a nice TV (with a fair cable package). The sunroom adjoining the family room has good space as well. There is central A/C and overhead fans that kept it very cool in the summer. The wifi (which I consider essential in a rental property these days) worked without a hitch.
The development has a nice swimming pool (but only open 11 AM - 7 PM) with an additional kiddie pool, has lifeguards, and is right next to some nice tennis courts and basketball courts.
The owner was very responsive and easy to work with, and had all the needed information to make getting in and out easy. The location makes drives to the beaches just a little longer, of course (usually by about 15 minutes relative to places closer to more expensive places on Coastal Hwy). However, that was a small drawback and meant the vacation was much more affordable.
We love the Delaware beaches (even after we moved from Delaware to Ohio), and having a place that is affordable and spacious for our family of 6 (4 kids under 10) makes me think we can continue to schedule a trip like this every year (although I doubt the weather can ever be quite as perfect in August as it was for us this year!).
This is not a good location for tourists without a car (although most places in Delaware are not!). Access to other beaches such as Ocean City, MD, Bethany, and Fenwick is just as good or better as anything else in the Lewes, Rehoboth area, so it opens up all sorts of possibilities for your vacation.
