This has been our family's vacation home where watched our children enjoy the lake every weekend in the summer as they were growing up. We also have a home next door and want to share this house with others.
Dawn Allen purchased this house in 1985
It is a fun place to make memories and just hang out and relax.
This house house a wonderfully flat lot that is steps from the dock/water. It has a beautiful shade tree that allows you to relax on the deck and view the sunset.
My group of 8 plus my dog stayed in this home for an extended weekend. We had a great time! The house is older but suited us just fine. There are 3 bedrooms and a tiny room off of the family room with two twin beds. This suited my group just fine. When at the lake, we prefer to spend as much time as possible outside! The dock is wooden and in good shape. There is a paddleboat for your use, which we had fun fishing out of. We caught 4 catfish off of the dock, which as great! The water is about 6 ft deep off of the dock and we also utilized the trampoline. The area was fantastic! We enjoyed how calm the water was and that we were able to cove out, ski, and tube. The only down side of the home was that there weren't enough bath towels provided and there was very little to cook with in the kitchen. We reused towels and went and bought new pots, pans, mixing bowls, and skillets. Overall, the trip and stay was great and we have no problem coming back again! The owners were very polite, flexible, and easy to work with! We would definitely stay again.
We took our 3 kids two in their 20's one 16 year old and each brought a friend as well as our teenage nieces and nephew for a total of 10 people. We loved the place and had a great time. Although the house isn't super fancy it is VERY clean and comfortable. We prepared and ate all of our meals at the house and everything we needed to do so was there including a grill (both a gas and a charcoal we used both on different days). The days we were there the temperature was near the 100 degree mark and the A/C still was nice and cool in the house (we stayed at a different house before and the a/c couldn't keep up and that was miserable). The dock was awesome for swimming, and just hanging out and talking at night. We also fished but didn't catch anything (I'm guessing we were too loud). Also, the owners were very responsive, I had a couple questions when I was there so I text messaged them and they responded with in minutes with answers. They were great. We are going to make this a yearly tradition and will stay here from now on, it was wonderful! Perfect for us, highly recommend! Sidenote- If you need to rent a boat/ jet-ski while your there call Coconut's and ask for Jeremy he is the Manager, super cool guy and he totally took care of us on a several day rental of a pontoon.
Home was comfortable and had a wonderful lake location. Two well dock was great with boat lifts and swimming from dock was wonderful. Back yard was wonderful for our dogs. I would recommend this home.
We do an annual family vacation at the ozarks with my parents, my brothers family, and our family. We won't be returning to this property as it was a bit cramped for our families and overall the house is in need of updates.
I will start with the positives because there are many great things about this property. The fenced yard, dock, and water trampoline were absolutely amazing! The property sits in a very nice quite cove with just enough activity to keep you entertained. We brought our own boat and rented a jet ski overnight. The owner to the house next door came to his house friday and saw us struggling with the lift. Turns out he owned the rental as well. He was great to come over and help us work the boat lifts so we could properly put our things under cover and care the rest of our stay. The owners and family that helps manage the rental are very nice.
The dock was large and a great place for swimming, floating and overall water fun for all ages! We also have a small dog that got a sense of freedom with the fenced in back yard. We don't have this at home so we walk on a leash when outside. He was in heaven!
Now the downside of this property. It simply needs updates and I might even suggest a new cleaning company. From simple things like the bedding not appearing washed and with stains and lots of wear. I would a suggest bringing your own bedding. There is also NOT a washer/dryer.
Stairs to upstairs master very steep and narrow. Not great.
The kitchen while it had many of the things you need, it definitely didn't have service for the 10 the house says it accommodates. Several dishes were put away dirty.
We had one small maintenance issue. The ceiling fan in the bunk room was hanging. We took a picture and immediately sent it to the owner letting them know we weren't comfortable sleeping in the bed under the fan or using it. The cleaning people had also notified them and they left a message with their maintenance company. This was on Wednesday. Maintenance showed up on Friday afternoon. Didn't make us feel like we were a priority.
Overall the house is in need of remodeling and update of window treatments, supplies, bedding, etc. I would also suggest to be mindful of the size of the house while it can accommodate 10 it is cramped. Everything is very small. Our
families made it work and spent much of our time outdoors. We were also lucky enough to have beautiful weather and didn't need to be inside.
My husband and I, daughter and son-in-law and their 2 daughters had a 4 day stay here. What a nice place. The fenced yard was a great perk since we had 3 dogs along. You could walk right out to the boat dock to fish, use the peddle boat or swim. Putting the boat in was convenient, being just a few doors down. It had everything we needed and was roomy enough for all of us. We had a great time and would recommend it.
My husband and 2 grown daughters had a great time. We spent our days floating in the lake and jumping on the trampoline just steps from the house. Our dog had the time of his life and found out he could jump off the dock and swim over to the steps on the seawall to get back on the dock and start all over again. We brought our boat with us and the owners were there upon our arrival and helped us get situated. It was wonderful to be able to walk out the door and have easy access to our boat. Since we were able to use their lift all we had to do was a quick wipe down to our boat after pulling it out just a few houses down when our vacation ended. Loved that we could walk out and hop in the boat and go whenever we wanted to.....really enjoyed the boat rides at dusk. The girls had a great time wakeboarding since the home is located off the main channel and boat traffic is at a mimimum. We ate at Coconuts which allows you to bring your leashed dog and Captain Ron's had really good food and a great atmosphere also. We used the grill also a couple of nights and the kitchen had everything we needed including a crock pot that we used a few times also. I already miss having my morning coffee on the deck and the view of the lake!
