We had a wonderful week in this apartment. It really is every bit as good as the pictures. From the view of the Hudson out the kitchen window to the views across to the Lincoln Centre, and back to the centre of Manhattan. Day and Night was an everchanging, beguiling, enchanting city landscape.
Our host was very welcoming, the apartment spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, and for Manhattan very quiet.
We absolutely lucked out in finding this place! I was very worried after reading warnings on NY apt rentals but this was absolutely legit. I took my elderly parents to stay here with me and it was perfect. Spacious, clean well furnished apt with great views of the skyline! Everyone in the building was super friendly and the shuttle to Columbus circle was a great bonus. It was lovely to walk over to Lincoln centre to see a show or people watch at their free concerts. James was easy to work with and answers any questions. Will definitely return to this quiet sanctuary of NY. I must add I slept on the pull out couch for 6 nights and it was comfortable. It would be comfortable for a couple but maybe not for two friends as it slants a bit up at your head so I slept diagonal. Bedding was great as was all the furnishings!
My wife and I stayed at this apartment for 9 days over the July 4th weekend. Simply a wonderful, relaxing place.
We enjoyed our drinks on the balcony and watched fireworks across the Hudson River in New Jersey. We watched the Empire State Building's tower flash with the red, white and blue. The views are spectacular, 33 floors up!
The chairs and sofa are comfortable, the bed is great and the linens all pressed and welcoming.
We made our breakfasts in the kitchen which was outfitted just right for our needs.
You can walk to Columbus Circle for shopping at Whole Foods or go to The Met.
We fully recommend this place and will be staying there again on our NYC trips!
My wife and I spent nearly two weeks in this attractive, nicely furnished and decorated apartment. A comparable suite in a hotel with separate bedroom, large bathroom, living room, kitchen, and balcony would cost about $300 more per night. Why not spend the savings on restaurants (we went to at least a dozen), Broadway plays (three), movies, museums and other attractions?
Lincoln Square is a short walk and has many excellent restaurants (Lincoln Square Steak was a favorite). There are three groceries and two wine shops within two blocks; laundry facilities are downstairs.
The Hudson River is in view from the balcony. A short walk west, then north to 68th Street, takes you to a walkway down to the River. At the foot of the walkway is Pier i Cafe, a pleasant waterside restaurant.
James was a very accommodating landlord. All in all a highly recommended lodging.
My wife and I went to NYC to visit our daughter (who lives in Brooklyn) and to see some shows. The apartment is comfortable (air conditioning works very well) and beautiful (especially the view from the balcony). It is also very conveniently located, with Lincoln Center (where we went to two performances) essentially next door. There is a subway station only a 15 minute walk away, so it is very easy to get to Broadway (where we saw two plays). Coming home from Broadway was only a $10 cab ride (not including tip). There is also a grocery store just around the corner that stays open till 10 p.m.
What really made our stay special was how wonderful a host James was. My wife and I have had very good luck with VRBO both in the US and Europe. But, James was, by far, the best host we have encountered. The apartment is very well stocked with coffee, sweeteners, condiments, towels, toiletries, tour books and maps of NYC, and numerous other items that made us feel truly at home. There were even umbrellas, which were very helpful during the deluge we encountered one day.
We are already planning our trip back to NYC next year, and will definitely stay there again. We highly recommend this wonderful place.
We stayed here in July during the recent hot weather. We loved it! James was very responsive to any questions. The view was amazing and gave us a feeling of space and peace when we got home. The air con was efficient, kitchen well stocked and lots of touches that made us feel at home.
It was very convenient to everything and we would definitely choose to stay here again and would recommend to our friends.
