Why Paul Michau chose Caribe Point

What makes this House unique
Good road access, private and peaceful but close enough to the major grocery store and restuarants in French Harbour
Pool / Spa
Sports & Adventure Activities
My husband, daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at Seagrove Retreat in February of 2018. I can not say enough wonderful things about the property. It was stocked with water toys and many other amenities. Franklin and Tommy were wonderful and could answer and assist us with anything we needed. We took advantage of hiring Rosa to cook for us three nights and her authentic food was delicious. We hope to return next year!
Beautiful seclusion. Excellent staff.
It is an hour trip to town so plan well on the way in.
Cutest place ever!
We just left..sadly one of the best places on the Island! We arrived to a ton of rain..the most they have seen in 20+ years. Still we made the best of our few days here. Paul the owner was on location for his own time down. He was such a great host and had ideas of things we could do each day. He took us to lunch and to the Jam farm..(Free jam tastings). Showed us around a bit. He and Tommy also took us up in the boat through the mangroves and stopped at Hole in the Wall. There are kayaks to do this also. Would be a little trek to get there but amazing adventure! The second day again a ton of rain and Franklin the other care taker took us on a tour of the island. Despite all the rain and local flooding we had such a great time!
There is a dog Cinco who is the sweetest boy ever!
We enjoyed the hospitality tremendously! Mr Paul loves to share his place. There is a main house you can rent also which is beautiful! Full wrap around porches on both houses.
Thanks Mr Paul for such a wonderful time! Hope to return without rain to enjoy all the amenities!
The very best "get away from it all" vacation
We stayed for one week, Feb 2017, in the casita/boathouse and had a fantastic time!!!
The house is lovely; spacious, clean, all kitchen utensils needed you will find there and the beds are comfortable. From the terrace you can relax and enjoy the sunset every evening. Lots of equipment is included in the rent like several kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, fishing and snorkelling equipment. Just use it and have a great time! Paddling in the mangroves is an experience, this way you can visit the famous Hole in the Wall restaurant. This one is the only nearby restaurant and the only one you can reach without using a car. A car is definitely recommended to go shopping, visit restaurants and so on. Since the road is steep and in bad condition, especially after rain, with lots of holes, bumps etc. we recommend a AWD/SUV.
Bugs… no worries, make sure to bring some insect repellent, use it constantly and you want have any problems with mosquitos. Security, we felt very secure all the time at Seagrove.
There are a few people working on the ranch, all very helpful and service minded. They can help you get some fresh lobster and fish, very nice!
Unfortunately, we did not have the possibility to meet with Paul, the owner. But all communication before, under and after our stay at Seagrove was great, always with a quick response.
To summarize, this is the place to go if you are looking for a “get away from it all vacation”. We especially recommend it for couples looking for something rustic.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful week at Seagrove Retreat.
So many activities from kayaking (singles/doubles with paddles provided) , great snorkeling nearby (gear provided), paddle boards, swimming in the pool or off the dock. Which is always refreshing.
Junior, Franklin and/or Tommy (care takers, who are the best!) can arrange most anything you need. From shuttle to and from the airport, to stopping by a large grocery store, and boat taxis. Call Marvin for a boat trip down the coast line (highly recommend this) , or lunch at Hole In The Wall for lunch or other places.
Spend your happy hour fishing from the deck of the casita or dock. Mostly small fish so for us catch and release, but much fun.
Early in the morning you will see the school bus boat pick up children and a fisherman came by the dock to sell us lobster.
Seagrove Retreat is peaceful and quiet, always a breeze so sitting on any of the decks provides a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. The houses are tastefully decorated and furnished with all your needs. All was well maintained and clean.
Make sure you stock up at the grocery store as Seagrove Retreat is in a beautiful secluded area, with a rocky road and steep hill to get in and out. There are a fair amount of stairs on the property, we just viewed it as daily exercise.
The owners Paul and Julie are delightful and will answer all your questions.
Looking forward to our next trip to Roatan and would definitely stay here again!
Leave behind the electronic white noise machine!
The sound of the lapping waves will lull you to sleep.
Don't worry about typical island issues: there's a generator if power goes out, there's always Junior, Franklin and Simon to answer questions, help with the internet, your "lender" phone and watch over you. Yes, you'll have to look for the starfish every morning and keep tabs on the sea urchins that clutch to the sea wall, and yes you'll have to figure out how long it takes to kayak to the reef, but you will not want to leave. Our stay was planned to be one week but we loved it so much and we enjoyed our time with Paul so much that we stayed both weeks at Caribe Point. Not daunted by the mountainous terrain ( we domicile in Colorado now) our rented 4 wheel drive Nissan handled everything wonderfully ( we have a suggestion for care rental too if you're interested). We're relocating to the island and if planning holds will be back there during our transition. We can't thank Paul and the boys enough for sharing their Paradise and making us feel we belonged. Avanti!
We are 10 miles East of French Harbor off of The Jonesville Point Road. We are in Caribe Point bight and close to a famous mangrove kayaking channel
