We are both United Methodist Ministers and purchased our home for future retirement and occasional weekends away from our flocks! We have enjoyed sharing our home with guests who have equally enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings as well as available recreation close by.
William Davidson purchased this house in 2003
We have always loved the mountains and have found Massanutten Resort to the be the most economical and accessible ski resort in Virginia
This house was simply awesome. We loved every moment we spent here. Nobody wanted to leave. Great location with a lot of outdoor activities. Can't wait to book this property again for the winter.
My best friend and I decided to take our son's (and one of their friends) on a boys' vacation to Massanutten. While I own at this resort, there was no availability for the week we wanted to go. I found this house and it was perfect! The amenities and location made this a preferred property in my mind! The home is large enough when you want to send 4 children to a room (for getting on your nerves), yet cozy to enjoy each other's company without being on top of one another. The pictures do not do this home justice! The owners make it easy to check-in/check-out and even leave a pool pass and pamphlets for local attractions on and off the resort. We had a wonderful time and will definitely rent this place again in the future!
This was a perfect spot for our family to celebrate our daughter's graduation from James Madison University!! The house is lovely - every convenience we could have wanted and situated in such a beautiful setting!! It was wonderful to get away from the graduation crowds and celebrate in comfort and luxury. The location and the lovely cabin made these unforgettable few days even more so.
Thanks, Bill & Cheryl for opening up your Mountain Oasis to our family!!

This property was perfect for our family for a graduation celebration. The first floor bedroom and bathroom made it a good choice because grandma and grandpa didn't have to climb the stairs. We were able to get outside to use the deck- there's a creek that's only about 20 feet from the deck - and we cooked out on the gas grill. Since all the restaurants were really crowded for graduation weekend, we avoided the restaurants and cooked several meals at the house; the kitchen is well-equiped with cookware and small appliances. The carpets were new and very clean, in fact the whole house was very clean. And the owner was very easy to work with.
I've never rented a cabin/lodge before, so I don't have anything to compare this residence to, but I was completely satisfied to what it had to offer. First of all, if you are skiing at Massanutten, you couldn't find a house with a better location. It is literally a 2 minute drive to the ski slopes, and less that 5 minutes to everything else the Massanutten resort has to offer (waterpark etc).
In terms of the resort itself, the inside is beautiful. The biggest concern we had was if it had a big enough common area for all of us to relax in, and it definitely does. The living room has a high cathedral type roof, which makes the living space seem even bigger.
The house was clean and well kept, and had a couple of great amenities including a fireplace in the living room.
All in all, if you are looking for a convenient location as well as a sizable common space, go ahead and rent this lodge.
* Civil War battlefields and museums, national parks, caverns, wineries, as well as antique and specialty shoppes are close by, ** indoor/outdoor water park with wavepool, slides, and more! *** Best in the East!!
