Located on Sister's Creek, this beautiful 3BR, 3 bath home is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. This is a very private, relaxing home that is fully furnished, right down to the snorkeling gear! Upper level consists of master suite with 2 queen beds and attached bath and a 2nd BR with king bed and full bath. There is a large living area and fully equipped kitchen with island.
This level is all glass facing the water with a screened-in porch the entire width of the house (and 180 degree views). Sunsets over the water are spectacular! Lower level has separate entrance with 2 twin beds and a full bath.
Private 35' X 19' boat slip, tiki hut, outdoor furniture and dock shower. Walk 3 blocks to Sombrero Beach (the most beautiful & popular beach in the middle keys) or relax under the tiki hut with a good book. Fully lighted seawall makes evenings a pleasure to relax while fishing or star-gazing. Minutes from stores and restaurants, yet peaceful and quiet!

I can't tell you how happy we were with this property. This was our first time renting at VRBO. The agent Bonnie was so helpful and realized we were new at this and was so easy to work with.
We got to the property and the outside was well maintained. We all went to the back yard to look at the dock. We could see fish in the water and manatees over by the mangroves. We decided to unpack. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a 3rd bedroom downstairs. All of the rooms were neat spacious and cool. The kitchen is very modern and easy to cook in. The livng room is spacious with two couches and a big lounge chair.
Plenty of room so we didn't get into each others way. The patio is screened in all around and my parents were able to sit in comfort and watch us fish.
Ok on to the fishing. We caught a lot of snappers right off the dock. There were tarpon right off the dock that were hitting dead ballyhoo and we were catching 4-5 foot nurse sharks that my kids loved to catch and release. Lobsters right below the dock. Yep couldn't catch them as it wasn't lobster season but they are there.
We also saw numerous sting rays and a few moray eels right off the dock and 1 cool looking octopus. The ocean is about 300 yards from this dock. You could not ask for better placement of the property. We had manatees come up right in the boat slip to drink from the hose as we were washing off the dock.
To sum it up Beautiful property inside and out. Very friendly owner who called us when we had some questions about the fishing initially before we booked. She is super at communicating and very nice to deal with. Bonnie the agent is the same way. Easy to work with and got it done for us though we did not have much time to get it booked.

Our family of 5 had a fantastic stay at Sombrero Palms. The location is perfect. Easy walk, bike or kayak to beautiful Sombrero Beach. Close proximity to restaurants and grocery store. The setting and views sitting on the screened porch or out by the seawall are spectacular. Loved watching the boats and dolphin traveling Sister Creek. Immediate boat access to the Atlantic, 5 min run to Sombrero Reef and 5-7 minute run to the Gulf side at Knight Key Channel. Easy boat access to multiple restaurants. Great mangrove snapper fishing from the seawall. My kids had a blast fishing and kayaking Sister Creek! Home is very well equipped with quality appliances for all cooking needs and quality linens. We will DEFINITELY return to Sombrero Palms. Thank you for hosting us at your wonderful home!
This is our second year at Sombrero Palms, this beautifully located home on Sisters’ Creek. We’ve already planned on two more months in 2015. The location is exquisite and perfect for watching boat, dolphin and manatee traffic navigate through to Marathon Harbor. The porch is a perfect viewing spot or quiet area for reading, game-playing or sharing an evening cocktail. We caught enough fish off the seawall for dinner, and also a variety of eels, crabs, lobsters, and we watched so many more interesting species swim past. The kitchen is well-equipped for any type of cooking with more-than-adequate appliances and dinnerware. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!
My husband, parents, sister and I stayed here for the Christmas holiday. It's a beautiful property with a wonderful view and location--close to Sombrero Beach and a short drive to the local shopping/dining areas. It's a great spot if you enjoy fishing and water sports or just looking out over the water. There is a lovely screened-in porch to sit outside.
However, there were a few problems with our stay that I feel need to be addressed.
First, the linens and towels are quite old--some have stains and rips or are fraying. We aren't fancy people by any stretch, but finding a huge brown stain in the middle of a towel is a little gross. The first night, we also noticed a fresh, crusty stain on one of the bed coverlets--I'm optimistically going to say it was tomato or spaghetti sauce. We also had a stained queen sheet--when tried to find a new one in the linen closet, there were piles of twin sheets and a couple of queen-sized ones, one of which was ripped. They are all quite thin and worn.
Also, if you love to cook, this may not be the place for you. There is a serviceable grill outside, but inside, the kitchen is pretty outdated and looks like it was furnished by going to lots of garage sales. The hand mixer, blender and skillet date to the late 60's (we actually looked the models up online out of curiosity). The hand mixer nearly died on me when I was making a batch of Christmas cookies.
There are about 30-40 teaspoons, 10 forks and 6 butter knives (none of which match), so you may find yourself washing up knives and forks on a twice-daily basis if you're serving. There are only two real drinking glasses (old pilsners from a bar). The rest are plastic, much-used cups (some look like they came from a Furr's cafeteria) and a set of wine glasses which someone probably bought for their stay. Plates are all quite mismatched.
The dishwasher threw grunge onto all the plates and utensils from the very first night, no matter how much we pre-washed in the sink. It looks like the filter was clogged--we tried to clean it, but had no way of removing it. There are also warning notes everywhere about not overtaxing the fridge (which is at least 30 years old) or the AC. Given the very high dollar amount we spent to stay for a week, it would be nice to have functioning kitchen appliances, decent (NOT expensive, just clean and newish) linens and kitchen items. We told the rental company about these problems, but never heard back to hear if they were addressed.
Quiet location on a natural waterway. Convenient to the Gulf and Bay. We didn’t catch many edible fish, but had a good time trying. Good snorkeling at Sombrero Reef. Overall, a very relaxing vacation in a comfortable home.
MY FAMILY AND I STAYED HERE TWO YEARS IN A ROW AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOME TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THE WATER ,SUNSETS, AND THE REAL BEAUTY OF THE KEYS. SITUATED ON SISTERS CREEK WHICH GOES FROM THE ATLANTIC TO THE GULF THRU SISTERS CREEK TO BOOT KEY HARBOR AND THE SEVEN MILE BRIDGE. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR FISHING OF THE DOCK (TARPON,SNAPPER,GROUPER),OUR PICS OF THE MANATEE ARE STUNNING RIGHT AT THE DOCK!! THE HOUSE IS PERFECT WITH ALL THE AMENITIES. LARGE MASTER BEDROOM WITH FULL SGD TO THE WATER,FULLY FURNISHED SECOND B/R. DOWNSTAIRS WAS GREAT FOR THE BOYS THAT WANTED TO FISH FOREVER! THE UPSTAIRS IS GLASS ALL AROUND WITH VIEWS THAT NEVER END!! THE BEACH IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND GREAT TO SWIM AND RELAX ON.
Located on Sister's Creek (a natural waterway, not a canal) and the fishing from the dock is tremendous. Three blocks from Sombrero Beach, the nicest beach in the Keys! Note: All tenants must be over 30 years of age, except children of renting adults. WE DO NOT RENT TO STUDENT GROUPS ON SPRING BREAK.
