Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming house in Tavira. On sunny days, some of us enjoyed sipping wine under the lemon tree, while others caught some rays on the rooftop terrace. Having three full bathrooms was a big advantage, as was the washing machine and dishwasher. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare our own meals at home (with groceries from the nearby store), when we were not out and about enjoying the many wonderful Tavira restaurants. We had a few unseasonably cool days, so it was nice to have heating throughout the house. The proximity to the town center allowed us to easily return home for a rest break during the day. We walked, drove, or took an Uber to easily get around. Some highlights of our week included a full-day wine tour, horse riding in the Ria Formosa, a sunny afternoon at the beach on Tavira island (we had it to ourselves, almost, in April), a fado concert, a visit to the camera obscura, the castle gardens, and enjoying the fragrance of the fresh lavender strewn all over the Roman bridge for the Holy Week processions. Truly a magical trip, and we hope to return again to further explore the charming town of Tavira and enjoy another glass of delicious Portuguese wine under the lemon tree.
