Ample one bedroom apartment located in Hotel d'Hallwyl, a national classified monument
designed by Claude Nicolas Ledoux in 1760. Two exposures in addition to sky lights give the apartment much natural light. Large common area with exposed wood framework, generous
exterior terrace and superb central location near the Musee Picasso, Pompidou Center, Place des Vosges and many contemporary art galleries and shops. A beautiful 'cour pave' entrance to the edifice, wide staircase and a large elevator makes the building extremely practical. Exceptionally located with easy access to public transportation and all major points of interest.
OUR NEIGHBORHOOD: Our apartment is located in the Haute Marais (3rd Arrondisment). We are 3 blocks from the Musee Picasso in one direction and 3 blocks from the Pompidou Center in the other. Musee Carnavallet, Place de Voges, Musee des Archives, Musee de la Chasse are all within a 15 minute walking radius from the apartment. The apartment's location is truly unsurpassable wether you are in Paris on a vacation or for business. We also have 2 nearby streets which are well-known in Paris for there food shops, Rue Bretagne and Rue Rambuteau. In addition to several great neighborhood restaurants. Our objective is to provide you with an authentic Parisian experience.
OUR GUESTS: Most of our guests are American who in many cases are familiar with our design company, Casamidy. The apartment
is a one bedroom. For the moment we do not allow small children as the apartment has some fragile decorative
objects. We have a one week minimum stay requirement as a courtesy to our neighbors.
BATHROOMS AND ELEVATORS: Though the building dates from 1760 it was gut renovated in the 1990's. We count on a very large modern elevator
and secure entry systems. The apartment is located on the top floor and is especially quite because of the large front courtyard and large rear garden which buffer the street noise. The apartment has a guest toilet in addition to a large shower and separate toilet within the master bedroom. The apartment has many skylights which are automatically operated for ventilation during the summer. We have dyson fans available but do not have air conditioning.
Located in a beautiful Hôtel Particulier, very quiet street and building. Charming entrance and staircase, as pictured. And the apartment is as good if not better than photographed. Perfect balance of old and new. The bathroom is particularly good, i.e. new, great shower, not always easy to find even in a hotel. We discovered the small terrace after seeing it in their book of houses!
I would buy an apartment in this building!
Have already recommended this apartment to too many friends.
We loved the Marais neighborhood, just far enough away from the crowds, and had lunch at Cafe Charlot and Les Comptoir des Archives.
I've spent a lot of time in Paris for work and for pleasure so it was time to take our visits to the next level. My husband found Casamidy for us on the internet and when we arrived: wow! It reminded us a lot of our apartment we had in New York City down on Jane Street: top level and very cozy. The decor is a mix of shabby chic and the owner's own interestingly crafted metal modern pieces. We instantly felt at home and loved the fact that when we felt tired, we simply went down stairs, got our baguette and pates and a bottle of wine and stayed inside for the night.
The space is airy and bright with lots of windows and a view of the Pompidou's roof. The outdoor dining area is perfect for checking weather and eating outdoors on a warm day. Everything was clean, dust-free, and comfortable--including the bed, which is always a risk in an apartment type situation. The bathroom and kitchen are small but clean and serviceable and the heat was very efficient on cold October mornings. The best part was the owners have set up a cab service that is all done by phone and computer so you don't miss having a doorman call you cab for the airport at 4 in the morning. A totally enjoyable apartment and we've told everyone we know to stay there.
My husband and I stayed in this beautiful apartment and could not have been happier. I am an interior designer and my husband is a creative director so the careful design of this space was not lost on us. The owner paid great attention to detail mixing old and new so that the space feels totally comfortable and yet stylish. The location in the Marais is also fantastic as it is walking distance from the Pompidou Centre as well as many cafes, restaurants, and great shops.
We would definitely return to this charming home away from home.
My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous apartment for a week in April and couldn't have been more thrilled with our temporary home-away-from-home.
The historic building opens to a private courtyard followed by a stately and beautiful staircase. The apartment itself, on the building's top floor, is large, spacious, and drenched with fabulous natural light from the numerous windows and skylights, which we frequently opened to take advantage of the lovely weather and fresh air. The living, dining, and sleeping areas are wonderfully open and the decor is nothing short of inspirational -- especially for someone (like me!) in Paris to hit the marche aux puces. It is exceptionally designed while being comfortable, and made staying in as much a vacation as being out and about in Paris.
The kitchen is fully equipped, which enabled us to eat in and prepare dinner from what we picked up at the several boulangeries, patisseries, and markets located just a block away. The queen-sized bed was extremely comfortable and the large, sky-lit walk-in shower was fabulous -- two very important traveling perks! And perhaps best of all was the apartment's lovely terrace and its gorgeous Paris-rooftop views, which really made our stay exceptional.
Located in the heart of the Marais, the apartment is surrounded by shopping and hip bars and restaurants. It is close to several metro stations, is just a few blocks from the Pompidou, and is an easy walk to the Ile de la Cite -- perfect for sightseeing.
My husband and I had a lovely stay in this beautiful, historic apartment. We can't wait to return!
Perfect web site title as this was a home not just an apt. Aside from being an historic site and the wonderful decor, it is only one street from the Metro. The markets are many and my French wife took
the opportunity to use the well equipped kitchen . Aside from the phone there is a computer . For Paris this was a remarkable two
weeks in large part due to the apt.
An exceptionally well-designed, spacious apartment on a quiet street in an historic Hotel by Claude Nicolas Ledoux. Bedroom and living spaces were comfortable and beautifully designed. Plenty of storage and closet space. Bathroom with shower (separate toilet and powder rooms) was clean and sky-lighted with plenty of hot water. Kitchen was cozy, but well stocked and easy to use for breakfast and light meals. We stayed for a week in October and loved every minute despite a stream of seven rainy days. Still managed to enjoy the unusually large (for Paris) terrace for a few meals inbetween the raindrops. We are already planning a return trip.
