Tucked away on the shores of Conway Lake in the Mt. Washington Valley, this attractive new lodge has its own small beach/lake access steps from the house, with a canoe, kayak and paddleboat, plus wooded grounds available for guests’ use, (bird watching!). Comfortably furnished with antiques and appointments of western décor; the multiple decks look out over the water. There is a special
"T-pee" addition which houses the queen sized bed and it own bathroom and TV. This room has been used by several Honeymooners! The open living/dining/kitchen area is also on the first floor, as well as a small bathroom with shower.
Second floor has the double bed (antique spool bed) and twin bedroom and the second bathroom. The TV room is also on the second floor - View from TV room and double bedroom are quite spectacular!
Secluded and private setting but 5 miles from outlet shopping galore and wonderful restaurants, tourist sites, etc. Also in surrounding area is athletic club & yoga, antique stores, Water Park, Museums, Storyland, Fryberg Fair (in October), Exquisite Foliage in Fall; Horseback riding, Six ski resorts with summer activities, and summer sleigh rides.
Also on the property in an authentic log cabin which has a year round rental (they have their own beach and dock off the back of their house). Owner has home also on property which is used on some weekends - but the beach is exclusive to the tenant. (Owner may walk across beach to access pontoon boat)
Sorry No PETS. Limited to Parties of 6 - no exceptions.
We live in Boston which we love but it is a busy city life and we love to get away
on weekends to our special NH getaway! We raised 3 children in Boston and
in our lake front house, and even though the children are grown and live far away, they try to get to NH as often as they can. We all have wonderful memories of the lake and we continue to make new memories.
David & Karen Parker purchased this house in 1976
We found this property while staying with friends at their nearby home. We fell in love with the property and bought it in June 1976 when our second child was an infant! We have made many many changes and improvements over the years, and
are very content with the finished product.
This property is very unique - it sits on a little peninsula with a lovely beach and views. To one side is a wonderful marsh where fish breed, and my son discovered turtles, beavers, bull frogs and insects! It is situated in a tree forest off a dirt road but within three miles is North Conway with restaurants, outlets, bars, indoor water park - anything you might want - or Not!!
From the isolated location away from busy streets, to being right on the lake there isn't much negative to say about this place! However, there were some little issues. The kitchen being small wasn't an issue, but the awful seats at the table were. Half of the seat can tip over if you sit on it too close to the edge, and in general, they are just dangerous and not comfy. We had to replace them with much more realistic chairs during our stay. The door on the fridge also needs to be fixed. It was leaking condensation as it seemed the sealing was broken around the door. The bathroom in the master bedroom smelt moldy and the sink was very small and looked dirty. The bed in the master also wasn't as comfy as I was hoping. Not ideal quality for a master bedroom. Lastly, the bed in the upstairs room facing the lake needs a new frame. You couldn't even turn around without it making an awfully loud squeaking sound.
Other than those few little things to nitpick, the place was gorgeous and we'd love to go back. There was plenty of room for our family in the cottage. The distance from the main road made us isolated and away from the typical Conway traffic, yet you were still a very short ride to the center of town. Their were hummingbirds that would fly right up to the windows! Beautiful loons made appearances right in front of our beach. We even saw the parents feeding a chick! The downstairs and upstairs bathroom were spotlessly clean. Their was plenty of room to park up to 3 cars in the front driveway. The porch in the master bedroom was a very cool feature. The beds upstairs were very comfy. And the 2 kayaks were an awesome addition. Overall a perfect lake house in a perfect location.
If you think a lake is a lake is a lake, you've never visited Conway Lake. It's pristine surroundings take you back to 1965 (even though I was born in '76, but you get the picture) and the lake remains relatively undeveloped except for the few areas of houses along its 10 mile circumference. The house is well equipped and even has some interesting historical relics that make for good conversation. The owners live next door and are very nice; they are usually there on the weekends so its good to have them around in case you have any questions or need help as you start your vacation week. We went to Attitash Ski Resort during this last week of their "summer" season and it was awesome because we were the only people there and thus - no lines whatsoever. The mountain coaster rocks. Two thumbs up!
This was such a beautiful, special place. We can't wait to come back to this house next year. The cozy decor, comfortable deck, the lake, the fishing, the kayaking and the sound of those loons. Magical!
What an amazing abundant home on Conway Lake. This home is so deeply nourishing on so many levels. It was so beautiful to have time with the family to relax, meditate, swim, and have fires on the lake, while being nestled in this beautiful home and lakefront. The loons were so active and came really close to us in the water. Truly a wonderful place to have quiet, special time with your loved ones. The owners are so kind and thoughtful to every detail of making your vacation truly special like you are their family.
The house was very beautiful and accomedating for my family and our needs. The area is remote and peaceful! The kids enjoyed the lake for a swim. I mostly enjoyed the lake for boating. We would recommend this rental to our family and friends!
There are no negitives to say about the property and the experience with the owners. Only suggestion my family and I agreed on is in regards to the dinning area. The seating and table were uncomfortable (mostly the table). The outdoor table and chairs were easier to use. Other than that it was a fabulous vacation for us and we look forward to another stay in the near future!
My family of six rented this great house for the last week of July 2011. This was by far the best rental house that we have ever rented for vacation. The house was very clean and had all of the ementities needed. The lake was super clean and and we spent many hours swimming from the float and sunning on the beach. It's a great place to kick back and read a book or two, or just take a nap.
I reccomend this house to anybody looking for a quiet relaxing week with the option of traveling a short distance to the White Mountains, Shopping and golfing on North Conway.
This House lies in the Mt Washington Valley with unlimited recreational possibilities from hiking, biking, swimming, river rafting, antiquing, outlet shopping, live theater in No Conway and Tamworth, train rides, world famous Cog Railroad to the top of Mt Washington.
