About Blaise and Dina Miller, Owners

We are the Miller's (from left, Dina, Bryce [19], Brent [16], and me (Blaise). This picture is from August, 2017 when we went on vacation to the Low Country near Beaufort inf South Carolina. We rented a small cottage with a dock on a saltwater estuary (have gone there many times). In front of us is our "Low Country Boil" which was crabs we had just caught, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and corn. What a feast and great family memories, this was our last vacation before Bryce started at UGA.

The picture we used to show here was of our first Christmas at Serenity Ridge Log Cabin (2007) - it was undergoing massive renovations at the time - lumber was stacked everywhere and it was truly a mess inside, but is by far our fondest memory in our cabin. In spite of all the renovation mess, we had a roaring fire, listened to old-time Christmas music on the radio, and talked and laughed. Well, the mess is long gone and our cabin is now completely renovated, modernized, and quite spectacular. We love our cabin and hope you will too!!!

Why Blaise and Dina Miller, Owners chose Tennessee

Our search for a cabin crossed several states and a year and a half. We looked low and high, but could not find a place that 'wowed' us. When we found 'Serenity Ridge', there was no mistaking we had found our home in the Smokies! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do for our boys, from hiking to Go-Karts, so we will be able to enjoy for years to come. Our cabin is in the Arts & Crafts District, which is a quaint area with lots of small family-run artisian shops - you don't even have to buy, just go in and talk with the kind folks - they are very friendly people. On a beautiful ridge in a large-lot estate community with no other rental houses anywhere in the area, the location is perfect.

What makes this cabin unique

We are located in a residential estate neighborhood. No other rental cabins, so you won't have to experience the loud partying of neighboring rental cabins like you might in rental communitites. Our cabin is in a very private setting with the closest home about 300 feet through the woods. No traffic or noise, so is a peaceful and relaxing setting.

Notes:
With regard to suitability for elderly or infirm, there are 3 steps up to the front porch of the house with railings (see pictures). There is a bathroom and two bedrooms on the first floor, so an elderly person could stay only on the first floor and would not need to go upstairs at all, since only the master bedroom, bathroom, and game loft are upstairs. Our well-stocked kitchen includes items such as a blender, mixer, crock pot, and a waffle maker. We include two extra large Duraflame logs with each rental (October 1 through April 1). Seasoned split firewood can be purchase for a fee at the cabin. Free US Domestic long-distance is included on our cabin phone.

A first class home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderul time at Serenity Ridge. The cabin was spectacular and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We will have fond memories of our time in the Smokies for years to come. We highly recommend Serenity Ridge as a vacation home to anyone looking for a first class home away from home vacation. Thank you to the Miller Family.

Our family really enjoyed our stay here!! Beautiful place, beautiful scenery and views.

  • 5 of 5

There are 5 adults and 3 children in our family and we all fit very comfortably. The home was plenty big for us. The turkeys were an added bonus, I am sure if you held food in your hand they would eat from it. The hot tub was perfect and I must say all locations should have the hot tub away from the house.

The only thing I would recommend is getting memory foam mattress toppers for the beds. Also allowing the air to go lower than 71, for the hot natured folks. 😊

Very nice and relaxing!

We had a great time, everything we needed was there. And it was in the woods but close to the main attractions. The weather was beautiful and a lot to do.

Very quiet and secluded

  • 4 of 5

Accommodations were as expected. However really need to supply more wash cloths. One per person is not acceptable.

If you tend to get car sick the trip to the cabin could cause you problems. Very winding roads.

Owner's Response: I agree with you about the washcloths, I ask my cleaner to put out at least 2 per person. They may have been left in a location that you did not check, if you would have called me I could have walked you through other places to check. I would have had my cleaner bring some out to you immediately if I knew this was an issue. With regard to windy roads, this is the first time since 2008 any guest has mentioned windy roads either in a review or communicated to me. In my rental instructions, I do detail several different ways to get to the cabin. One of those is a longer, scenic way which includes windy roads (and the instructions do caution that they are windy roads), but this is just one way and not the preferred way to reach the cabin. Please know that our cabin is in the Arts & Crafts Community of Gatlinburg and the roads are easy to navigate to get to our cabin and are not as described in this review.

Gorgeous secluded cabin, away from all of the hustle and bustle yet close enough to do so many things! Very cozy, felt just like home by the end of the first day! Comfortable beds, relaxing hot tub, and serene surroundings make this the perfect choice for anyone heading to the area! We will definitely be repeat customers! Thanks! :-)
