|Minimum Stay||2 - 5 nights|
This two level mahogany and sandstone villa is located directly on the Caribbean ocean. The villa has two master suites with double sinks with another top level bedroom and bathroom. There is a large second level deck that overlooks the ocean, with a comfy hammock and seating for four. We have a two-person kayak available for your use - just ask our onsite caretaker to bring it out for you!
The lovely pool is shared by the four villas of Los Encantos, Villa La Jolla is Villa #1 on the oceanfront.
There is a terrific grocery behind the property that will provision the villa ahead of your arrival - look up Mata Grande Grocery on Google.
Scuba, fishing and snorkeling galore - tours will pick you up at the Los Encantos private pier. The local guides will barbeque the 'catch of the day' on the beach, should you wish.
Close enough to San Pedro town, but still private. San Pedro can be accessed via regular water ferry, private water taxi, golfcart or bike. And, there are nice restaurants and bars that are a short stroll up or down the beach from Villa La Jolla.
Villa La Jolla is a comfortable, welcoming private home from which to start your Belizean adventure. Ours is not your choice if you seek 'state of the art kitchens' or 1000 count bedsheets. If you want somewhere you'll feel comfortable in which to live and enjoy, we're your choice. If there is anything you need or would like, our onsite caretaker and our on-island management company, Caye Management, will assist immediately. Caye and their terrific staff are a phone call away to arrange tours, golf carts rentals, bike rentals, water taxis, restaurant bookings - anything you wish.

All questions welcome! And, thank you for your interest in Villa La Jolla at Los Encantos.
Keywords: Directly on the Caribbean, this large custom-built house, two levels, three bedrooms and 3 baths, is your gateway to adventure and relaxation.
We wanted a retreat on the ocean, close to diving and other water sports and we found a perfect place here at Los Encantos! We go into San Pedro town regularly, but often enjoy staying here and barbequing or simply relaxing.
Sally purchased this house in 2005
We are close to San Pedro town but far enough away that you have your 'private Caribbean'. All dive shops and snorkel and fishing guides will pick you up from our private pier, shown in the photo. Restaurants and bars are a walk up or down the beach.
Villa La Jolla at Los Encantos is a private home, one of four homes that comprise Los Encantos. It is located directly on the ocean, with nothing impeding your view of the beautiful Caribbean from nearly any spot in the house.
We offer you the use of a local Belize cell phone during your stay. You can add minutes to the cell phone easily. Also, we have a 2 seat kayak for your use. And, two bikes to use.
We enjoyed our stay. The home was perfect for our family, enough space for everyone to spread out while enjoying the common areas as a family. Cleaning every other day was perfect and we truly appreciated the help with laundry during the week! Thank you for the fresh water, a must when on vacation. The assistance in getting an excursion was also very helpful. Safes in the rooms are a plus, we always felt safe and protected. The trip logistics went off without a hitch. Wi-Fi to boot! I have nothing but positives to provide. Thank you! PS - we loved little Toby!
Our stay at Villa La Jolla blew away every expectation. The property itself is much more breathtaking in person over the photos. The salt water pool, is the perfect place to relax, or a stroll along the sandy beach with the tide going in and out revealing buried shells and crabs along your walk. Los Encantos, is about 4.5 miles north of town, which makes it a bit away from the "action" which was exactly what we needed. You can shop in town or at a couple of stores north of the bridge. There are now several restaurants near that are available to you via water taxi or golf cart.
Our family of five, used the three bedrooms. My daughter (5) stayed upstairs and my parents in the downstairs room with a king and us in the other room with a queen. The bathroom was spacious, large closets for storage, and a very well appointed kitchen. The porch is a terrific place to rest. Four chairs, plenty of tables for munchies and drinks, and a hammock to sway in the breeze. We cooked in several times, grilling fresh fish, shrimp, and on occasion pork chops. The BBQ was easy to light, after the locals shared their coconut husk and driftwood techniques. We used the local picnic table shared by the four Villas. We used the kayaks to enjoy floating around the reef and Nevia and Harley (caretakers) were wonderful. They take immaculate care of the grounds, raking the sand daily before 7...Nevia cooked one night for us and it was delicious local cuisine. By far the best chicken, rice & beans on the island and the cutest little coconut pies.
They have a small dog, Toby, that keeps guard over the beach and warns off strangers. There are also several locals that come by bringing goods to you. We saw a vendor with breakfast burritos, fresh shrimp and fish, local tapestries, a fruit & vegetable cart (great prices -- Nevia can tell you which days they come), and more.
Caye Management was also a terrific partner on the trip. They arranged our transfers from San Pedro and answered all of the questions we had quickly and thoroughly.
We can't wait to return to paradise! Book here now!
Our family very much enjoyed our vacation at Villa La Jolla. Exactly as described.
The home is located just a short boat or land taxi ride from San Pedro but you feel like you're on a private island. The four large villas on the property are spaced around an amazing salt water swimming pool and surrounded by a beautiful garden of palm trees and carefully raked white sand.
The sunrises each morning are spectacular and one morning, when the seas were calm, I saw a pod of at least 6 dolphins slowly swim past just 10 feet from the end of the pier. My favorite place in the entire villa is the double hammock on the second story porch that overlooks the beach. The home itself is beautifully furnished with a fully stocked kitchen including a purified water dispenser.
We scheduled several dives with Caribbean Breeze Tours in San Pedro and were able to take short boat rides from the dock to some of the best diving locations in Central America.
The caretakers, Harley and Nevia, live on the property and are wonderful people. Sally, the owner, and Trish and Mary at Caye Management went above and beyond to make sure our stay stay at Villa La Jolla was wonderful.
If you’re looking for a tropical paradise to recharge your batteries, this place is perfect!
Exactly as advertised, we so enjoyed the location and the privacy of Villa La Jolla. We especially liked its location right on the Caribbean ocean. The tours that we took picked us up at the Los Encantos dock and returned us there. Couldn't have been nicer!
Like most of the other reviewers, I can't say enough good things about our experience here. The house was impeccably clean, comfortable and looks exactly like the photos. The beach is pristine and the pool is great. The caretakers who live on the property are very sweet and helpful. Really nothing I would change about our stay. One tip I'd give other travelers, it's imperative you get a golf cart unless you plan on staying at the house the entire time.

Local guides and dive shops will pick you up from our private pier and take you for a day of adventure: snorkel, fish, SCUBA, beach barbeque. Also, day trips to inland Belize and Mayan ruins, cave tubing and jungle tours are easily arranged through our on-island rental management company. We have a caretaker and housekeeper that live on the property - ready with answers to any questions. All the privacy of a home, within easy reach of San Pedro town and other adventures.
A note about getting around on the island. We prefer going by water - private water taxi or Coastal ferry - or by bike or by foot. Some of our guests have rented golf carts and our on-island rental manager can assist you with that. Having said that, the road for the golf carts is a little rough. And, golf cart rentals tend to be expensive. You can always rent a golf cart after you arrive.
