Marenisco Cottage Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)

The Lake Gogebic Vacation Home is geared for today's lifestyle with the conveniences you would expect to find and more. Our home is very well-equipped and maintained, and is located on the West Shore of beautiful Lake Gogebic, the largest inland lake in Michigan's Western Upper Peninsula. The home is on several acres lot with 400 feet of lake frontage and includes a dock and boat lift (2500 lb. weight restriction) as well as a nice swimming area. Enjoy magnificent views of the lake from the comfort of the home or outdoor deck. Patio furniture and a charcoal Weber grill are also included. No reason to share a bed as this is the perfect place for 8 people to each sleep in their own separate bed, everyone can have a bed for themselves, if desired. Main floor bedroom has a queen bed, upstairs has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed the other with two twin beds, lower level has been updated in one large open bedroom with one queen pillow top bed, two twin beds and a new full sized sleeper sofa. Snowmobile enthusiasts will appreciate the direct access to trail #1. In 2015 we expanded and widened our nice long driveway to fit snowmobile trailers and boat trailers with a T-shape. Need more room for parking trucks and large trailers? We have additional parking nearby, inquire on availability. Call our office for details on accommodations for larger groups with our rental next door, Mallard Cove VRBO #570602. We welcome all outdoor enthusiasts that love the wilderness and beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Don't forget bug spray, we get some mosquitos, it's the Northwoods after all.

About Arlene Schneller

This is our second vacation rental home that we built on Lake Gogebic next to our other lake rental Mallard Cove VRBO#570602. We take great pride in well-managed properties that guests with family and friends enjoy year after year by returning as repeat guests. We believe in comfort, upkeep, cleanliness and most important, happy guests! We travel and stay in other VRBO rentals and have been in the vacation rental business for many years, we know what we like and what our guests expect.

Arlene Schneller purchased this cottage in 1995

Why Arlene Schneller chose Lake Gogebic

This property became available right next door to our other rental, Mallard Cove VRBO #570602. People have rented both units at the same time for reunions and weddings, it's ideal for vacationing families, fishermen, hunters and snowmobilers, being on trail #1.

What makes this cottage unique

Lake Gogebic is the largest lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We like the relaxed feeling, the lake is so big that it's impossible to feel busy or crowded. We love watching wildlife, deer, eagles and loons. Lots of amazing outdoor recreation with one million acres of Ottawa National Forest, the Porkies and spectacular waterfalls. It's centrally located to all the places we enjoy. A nice floor plan and the waterfront deck views are nice too.

Excellent Location, Spacious and Cozy Property!

  • 4 of 5

The property was in good condition, and the location was just perfect. In terms of cleanliness of the property, it could be better, but overall, everything was tidy and neat. We had more than enough room for 6 people and we enjoyed our stay here.

Property was perfect, right on the lake and had a nice big driveway for our trailer. House was clean and everything worked great! I hope it's available on our next trip.

Relaxation and Fun!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Teal Wing on Lake Gogebic. It is by far our favorite lake and this was our first time at Teal Wing. Everything was beautiful and clean. You cannot beat the view it offers and the convenience of the boat lift. We felt right at home (probably wishing). We hope to be back. The decking needs some work and we wish there had been fewer bugs, maybe next time!

It is called Teal Wing for a reason - ducks!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves Teal Wing on Lake Gogebic!! We try to get back every summer for at least a week of relaxing on the lake. The views from the home to the lake are stunning. Our favorite morning activity is to read on the dock listening to the gentle waves. We see ducks and ducklings every evening and morning as they move down the shore. We pick up a pile of groceries on our way in and just hang out. The lake is clean and good for swimming, or fishing, or water skiing, or kayaking. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pans and sharp knives so cooking is easy. The basement is great for rowdy teenagers. Lots of comfortable beds and linens. Lake Superior, Porcupine Mountains, Bond Falls are all close by and gorgeous. And if you have a family retreat in mind, book the next door property, Mallard Cove, and then you have two lovely homes with plenty of room for everyone.
