Another excellent stay

  • 5 of 5

This was a terrific family vacation - the views are spectacular and the cabin is nicely furnished and well equipped. Yes, the driveway is extreme, but it's on the end of a cul-de-sac so parking at the bottom is easy for those that would rather pass on navigating the steep slope....but the view from the top is worth the effort! We do not venture out to the local restaurants - we plan our meals and activities around taking full advantage of the view, the hot tub and the local Bent Tree area. The cabin is well maintained and the owner is very responsive. There were a couple of items that required attention during our stay and he took care of those without delay and always kept in communication to let us know about the progress. If you're looking for a quite, scenic getaway in the north Georgia mountains, this is an excellent choice.

Majestic view!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed over the Memorial Day weekend. We arrived and as the others mentioned, the drive way is an adventure. It is very steep. You are located in the Bent Tree community which is gated. It takes approx. 15-20 minutes to get to the house. It is curvy narrow roads along some steep drop offs. I wouldn't drive through this at night. We saw a bear and her 3 cubs one evening at dusk on the drive to the house a few nights into our stay. It was incredible! Thank God we were in the car.

Pros : Very spacious. Comfy couches, pool table was fun, Bathrooms (3) were pleasantly clean, THE VIEW!!!! We really enjoyed having our morning coffee on the porch. The birds were singing, weather was perfect. Great communication with owner. We had a hard time getting in, he was very prompt on helping via phone and email. He was also nice on our concerns.

Cons: Bedding and towels were dated. (I spoke to the owner and he said he was going to update). The french doors in bedroom did not lock. We had to tie wire around it to secure it. We contacted the owner about it. We went at the worst time due to tic season... Yes, tics!!! We pulled off several from our dog and child. Owner side he will try to fix. I am on antibiotics now because I have a bite bullseye on ankle. There wasn't any clearing for walking dog. We had to drive to an area daily to walk our pup.

I would rent house again if owner fixes these issues. He said he was planning on it. I would normally give 5 stars, but because of these issues I gave 4. I would have given 3 if owner wasn't so prompt on communication.

Owner's Response: Thanks Kristine. Just to clarify, the ticks are in the woods not the cabin. Arrow will be out this week to put a granular application on the area immediately surrounding the cabin.

fantastic secluded home with great deck and mountain view

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a place in the mountains with plenty of space and great views, you will not be disappointed. I would absolutely stay again next time I travel to North Georgia. We had two families of four stay there, two adults and two kids each (8 total), with plenty of room. Driveway is definitely steep and if it is icy in the winter, a car is difficult to get up the driveway. Otherwise, not a big deal. Owner is very responsive as well.

Beautiful and relaxing stay in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed staying in this secluded mountain house. It was beautiful and the view was beautiful. The quality of the house and everything in it reflects how much the owner cares about it. We will be back next year in the fall time again!

Fantastic home!

  • 5 of 5

This home is absolutely beautiful! Plenty of space, the views are breathtaking and the home is big enough to accommodate large groups. I would definitely stay there again!

The only downfall I can find to the home, the drive way is beyond STEEP. Manual transmissions need not apply lol. And your legs will definitely get a good workout!
