Why Megan Edwards chose Middle River
Crimora Mine Retreat is unlike any other property... Just listen to our renter's comments! The pictures you see just don't do the scenery justice. Once you step foot in Crimora we guarantee you will want to come back again and again.

So much fun to be here for a few days! Enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks and canoe and basketball. The grill was great. So was the hot tub. Wonderful escape with lots of space for distancing!
Great for our group!
This was a great getaway for our party! We enjoyed the house and all it's amenities as well as the surrounding wineries! Megan was communicative and easy to work with and I would highly recommend this house to any group :)
We've been renting places in the Shenandoah Valley area for many years for an annual college reunion. The Crimora Mine Retreat was easily the most secluded, most scenic, and best all-around place we've rented. As others have said, this place has it all.
Highlights included taking hikes right from the house without having to drive somewhere, having lunch down at the boat pavilion on a sunny afternoon, and cooking in a very nice kitchen.
For 10 guys, it was a little cramped sleeping-wise, but the 7 beds would accommodate most family groups. There were a couple of amenities listed that need attention/fixing, but Megan was immediately responsive by text with any questions or concerns and I'm sure those will get sorted out soon.
In short, "retreat" is a great name for this place. The seclusion and quiet here is wonderful. You won't regret a decision to stay here!
30th birthday for my wife
Beautiful home, and property we had a great time. Very detailed home a lot of high end finishes and plenty of room. Great people to work with, highly recommend. Thank you again for making it a special weekend
The perfect cabin
This property has everything you’d want in a cabin: a lake, privacy, bonfire, game room with foosball/billiards, good views, hot tub, etc. We went during the winter which definitely cuts down on the amount of activities you can do, but there are other activities you can do (slopes for skiing/snowboarding at Massanutten, Grand Caverns, breweries) and the house itself is awesome. The instructions they have for the house are clear so I didn’t need to reach out to them too much but when I did they were very responsive and helpful. The house is well stocked with supplies (towels, cookware, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.). I would definitely come back here, it checks off every box for what you’d want out of a cabin.
Crimora Mine Retreat is a vacation log home completed in the fall of 2007. The cabin is nestled next to the Shenandoah National Park on 150 acres of woodlands which includes a seven acre lake for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking and many walking and hiking trails.
Other Activities: kayaking, canoeing
