Hyannis, Cape Cod: Sunny Seaside Cottage-3 min. stroll to the beach !

Bedrooms Studio
Space 634 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Open-plan 1st floor, sleeping loft, full bath, sleeps 4 adults & 2 children

Our quaint 1950's classic cottage, cozy and charming, was totally rebuilt as a classic Cape Cod Saltbox in 2017. On the edge of the ocean close to the Hyannis Yacht Club, it is ideal for 2 couples, a small family of 4, or singles. We remodeled the cottage to include a large loft in crisp, European style. It offers year-round amenities, WIFI, basic cable service, AC & heat. The sunny living/dining room features vintage antique and modern accents. Relax on the comfortable sofa that converts to a queen bed, or slip onto the loveseat to finish your favorite book. The corner desk is great for projects or checking email. The loft has a queen bed and bunk beds. The new bathroom is light and airy with a cathedral ceiling and skylight. The new galley kitchen has modern appliances and a stack washer/dryer. The lofty cathedral ceiling sports skylights with bright sun all day & a ceiling fan to keep the breezes flowing. The new sliding door extends the kitchen onto the sunny, private deck, with dining/deck furniture and gas grill.

Marine and Airborne Activities: As you drive over the Sagamore or Bourne Bridge, plan some time to ride bikes and picnic along the Cape Cod Canal. Whale Watch excursions from Barnstable Harbor or Provincetown will take you to Stellwagen Banks and Seal Cruises are available in Chatham to Monomoy Island. There are over 35 beaches to explore if you care to drive outside of Hyannis. There are 10 lighthouses to visit that span the 90 miles of Cape Cod with panoramic views and amazing history. Hyannis Harbor Cruises and Fishing excursions leave from the Ocean Street Dock along with the ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The Hyannis Yacht Club hosts the famous annual Figawi Race.

Parasailing, sail/motor boat, jet ski and kayak rentals fit everyone's ability and sense of adventure.

Skydive, take a glider or biplane ride at the Cape Cod Airfield only 6 miles from Hyannis. Or, fly a designer kite on the sea breezes.

Rainy Day Fun: Some ideas for rainy or cooler days...The John .F. Kennedy Museum in downtown Hyannis reveals how JFK, Jackie, John and Caroline spent their days on Cape Cod. The JFK Monument at Veteran's Beach is a short walk from cottage toward the Ocean Street Docks. The Cape Cod Maritime Museum near Aselton Park and the Ocean Street Docks offers interactive exhibits, classes on boat building, maritime archaeology and model making. Kids will love the ZooQuarium in West Yarmouth with local creatures and a chance to touch and feed farm animals. The Cape Cod Children's Museum in Mashpee teaches children and adults how to play and learn. See the works of historic and current Cape artists at the Cape Cod Art Museum in Dennis. The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will immerse you in Cape habitat. The Heritage Museums and Gardens with the J.K.Lilly Automobile Collection, world famous rhododendrons and spring bulbs, and antique carved carousel and folk will keep the whole family entertained.

Fall Relaxation:

Guests will enjoy a less hectic pace, brilliant foliage, birds migrating south, cool breezes and sunny days. Businesses and restaurants remain open and bustling with great offerings. Shop for the holidays, or spend them on the Cape in both our cottage and bungalow for a getaway trip.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This saltbox cottage was neat, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. It is located in the perfect spot to enjoy all of Cape Cod. The owners were very helpful and friendly. They were always quick to answer any questions and offered good recommendations including Tumi's (Italian/Peruvian) Restaurant, where we enjoyed the best meal of the trip. I would certainly stay here again.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your fall visit. Our shoulder seasons are more relaxed, have less traffic and still offer great ocean walks and sunsets. The migrating birds are amazing to watch and the fall colors will soon be here. Come stay with us!

Freshly renovated cottage very close to Sea Street beach in Hyannis

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is freshly renovated: there is a new Mitsubishi AC system, new washer and dryer, beautiful hardwood floors, and much more. The place is very clean and decorated with love and taste. Spacious living room, skylights and trim recessed lightening throughout the house create air and light. Queen size bed and bunk beds are located at the loft and bath - at the first floor. The cottage is not big but perfect for a middle aged couple (like me and my husband) or for a young couple with small children. The house is located on a quiet street with a private porch. It takes 10 minutes to walk to Main street with restaurants and shops and only 5 minutes to get to Keyes Memorial Beach (Sea Street Beach). We needed 10 minutes to bike to ferry and 15 minutes - to Craigville beach (it is better to drive to Graigville beach since roads are usually busy and there are no biking trails in the area).

Elaine and John were great hosts, very helpful and responded immediately when we had questions. We enjoyed our stay very much and are planning to rent this cottage again.

(I would only recommend to add a larger TV set to the living room).

Elaine and John - thank you!

The cottage was perfect for our family of 5. The location was fantastic, we could walk to the beach in minutes, and the overall location allowed us to travel up and down the cape with ease. We would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting and we would definitely come back!
