You are most welcome to your home away from home at Red Gate Cottage. I hope everything you want has been provided for you, but if you need anything else (including information or assistance) - just ask. I'm here to help. Here are some guidelines to help make your stay (and that of the following guest) as nice as possible: NO SMOKING inside. Smoking is only permitted outside. You will find ashtrays in the mud room. FIRES – Turn off the gas fireplace when you leave the living room, and never leave the house with the gas fireplace on. OUTSIDE: Because of fire hazard, do not leave outdoor fireplaces unattended after making a fire. When using the chiminea on the deck, use only manufactured fire logs (such as Duraflame.) It's OK to burn small sticks too, but large firewood will cause clay chimineas to break apart. Fire Pit in lower yard – you can use any kind of wood as well as Duraflame logs. If you use the Tiki lamps on the deck, please extinguish them when you leave the deck. PARKING – Driveway accommodates 3 cars. Unlimited free parking on road. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS is eight persons. No RVs, campers or mobile homes may be parked on the premises for the purposes of extra sleeping capacity. TV, WIFI & TELEPHONE SERVICE – Cable TV and high-speed wireless internet are provided as well as unlimited long distance land line service. No outgoing calls outside the continental US. PETS – Dogs are permitted subject to restrictions and an additional fee. Cats are not permitted. The entire quarter-acre property is fenced and gated; however, dogs should be monitored at all times. Please don't allow them to dig in the yards or in mulched areas such as the playground. They must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and all other vaccinations. Thunder jackets are recommended if they are prone to separation anxiety or if they are afraid of thunderstorms. A thick quilt and a small throw are provided for doggie use. It's OK for them to get on the sofa and chairs (a sofa cover is provided.) No textiles intended for human use may be used as dog bedding. Dog owners are financially responsible for any damage and extra cleaning needs caused by their pet. Please clean up after your dog has been in the yard – there's an extra charge for doggie doo left in the yard. MAINTENANCE – Everything is in working order; however, some appliances or fixtures have their own “personality.” I can quickly tell you how things work if you let me know you're having trouble. Please report any difficulties to me by email for fastest service – email@example.com and call me too, at (828) 254-0196. I don't check phone messages often. There is a supply of bulbs for table lamps. All overhead light bulbs will be too difficult for you to replace so please let me know ASAP and I will come over and replace them for you. HOT TUB – Please shower before entering the hot tub. Colored towels (in master bath) are for use outside around the hot tub. No white towels outside, please. No children under the age of 8 are allowed in the hot tub. Children must be constantly monitored while using the hot tub. Make sure children do not get on the hot tub cover (it will break.) SINGLES UNDER 25 OR STUDENTS ON SPRING BREAK – not accepted unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. DO NOT REMOVE ITEMS FROM HOUSE (silverware, linens, furnishings, CD's, DVD's, games, etc.) PLEASE CHECK CAREFULLY PRIOR TO DEPARTURE to ensure that you have not left personal items behind. I do not return lost items. However, you may send me a pre-paid mailing envelope for your lost items (after you have verified that they have been found.) I will place your items in your prepaid envelope and drop it off at the post office. These guidelines are intended to ensure that all my guests (K-9's included!) have a safe and enjoyable stay at Red Gate Cottage. I sincerely want you to relax and have a good time. Please let me know if I can do anything for you.

Our Families favorite winter retreat
We have been here several times and love this place. The owner is friendly, accommodating, and generous. Great location for hiking, restaurants, and outdoor adventures. Easy place for the dogs to run and a safe place for the kids to play.
Asheville family Christmas
Property and location were great! Very convenient to all attractions. Personal touches were delightful cookies, wine, tree and fire pit ready to light! New appliances were nice but old ones were left outside at the front door blocking the porch swing. Make sure if you are uncertain about bringing your pet wait until you are sure to inform. I cancelled bringing mine 2 days prior and was still charged the pet fee. All in all charming cozy cottage!
A relaxing and beautiful stay
My husband and I, along with my mother-and-father-in-law, and our two little dogs came to stay for a few days for relaxation and a candlelight tour of Biltmore. The cottage did not disappoint and there was plenty of room for us all. The fenced yard for the pups was a huge plus! The cottage was well appointed, clean and cozy and the cookies (for us as well as the dogs!) was so sweet to come “home” to after a long drive. The area is quaint and quiet and it’s an easy drive into the city as well as to Biltmore. Would absolutely stay here again!
quiet, comfortable, great location
Family Vaca with dogs
It was the perfect size for a couple with two toddlers and two dogs. Cozy inside with with a fireplace and garden tub, beautiful rustic grounds with a firepit, jacuzzi, playground, wrap around deck, and fully fenced yard. The dogs loved it! The view of the changing leaves on the nearby hills is beautiful in fall. Would definitely come back. Wish we had more time to enjoy everything!
Cozy cabin. Exactly as advertised
