Why Alexis & Bobbi chose Santa Fe

We love Santa Fe and need a home base to get our green chile fix. We chose South Capitol because we wanted to be downtown and walking distance to The Plaza and Canyon Road.

Beautiful Santa Fe Modern - Close Walk to Plaza
average rating of 4.9 based on 30 reviews

Clean & modern place not far from the plaza

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I stayed here during a New Mexico road trip. The property was clean and very modern while maintaining a southwest feel. There is also a great outdoor courtyard perfect for coffee in the morning.

It was a short drive to the plaza and some wonderful restaurants.

My only regret is that we only spent one night here as I would have loved to enjoy it more.

Good location and accurate photos

  • 4 of 5

It was a good location for us to explore Santa Fe, Los Alamos and the surrounding area. Modern appliances in the kitchen and a nice bathroom. Nice little walled-in side yard where grill and patio table and chairs were. Only inconvenience, if you have young kids, is the single TV is located in the Master bedroom. Otherwise it work very well for us.

Great Property, great location!!!

  • 4 of 5

The house is very nice and located only a 10 min. walk to the plaza. The house is stocked with everything that you could possibly need for your stay (spices, paper products, etc.). The owners are a delight to work with and provide tips on restaurants and things to do on their web site and in a notebook in the property.

The one negative thing that was an inconvenience for my wife and me was that there was just one TV and it was located in the master bedroom so if I wanted to watch sports and my wife wanted to watch "Chopped", I was out of luck unless I went into town to a restaurant bar. Although this was an inconvenience for us, I could see it being a big problem for families with kids because the only option for the kids to watch tv would be to take over the master bedroom.

I would seriously consider adding another tv to the second bedroom or living/family room.

Well-located, comfortable, airy, attractive condo

  • 5 of 5

After a longhaul & internal flight with 2 children, arriving at Bobbi & Alexis's condo was v welcome indeed. The condo was exactly as described & looked just like the photos. The whole place was warm, comfortable, airy, beautifully decorated & well-appointed. Gd parking. Extra touches like a hairdryer, TV, a wide selection of dvds & books, coffee maker, ipod dock etc made it feel like home. My only complaint was that the pots and pans had food stuck on them which was a little offputting but the condo was otherwise spotlessly clean.

Location-wise, the condo worked well . We walked leisurely to the centre of town in 15 mins & drove pretty much everywhere else in Santa Fe in under 15 mins. We could've picked up the free Santa Fe pick-up shuttle a 5-10 min walk away. There was good access to main roads heading north (highly recommend Bandelier National Monument) and south (Turquoise Trail was tacky, touristy and not worthwhile in a region packed with fantastic art and archeology). The immediate vicinity is quiet, residential & pretty with the early spring blossom. Must be lovelier still in summer. Not many restaurants or shops in the immediate few streets but it's only a 5 min drive (or not long walk) to a great bakery (Sage Bakehouse) & any number of restaurants (Tia Sophia's was fab for southwest breakfast; The Shed looked great but sadly the wait was really long so we had to go elsewhere; Santa Fe Bite didn't live up to its reputation; Backroad Pizza is ace!). For groceries, we thought Whole Foods was magnificent but also pricey. Preferred Trader Joe's. Also 2 large branches of Walmart a bit further away.

Bobbi was wonderful to deal with. Emails & questions (I sent many!) were replied to very swiftly and directions & instructions were clear (albeit that the contract and list of penalties were somewhat intimidating - luckily we never fell foul of any and I do appreciate landlords' need to protect themselves too). Bobbi was also faultlessly fair regarding a payment card fee the details of which hadn't been entirely clear at the time of booking.

Two points for visitors from outside the USA who may, like us, not be familiar with American rentals:-

1. A "full bed" refers to what UK visitors will know as a double bed (as opposed to single, queen or king).

2. Full payment is required a few weeks before the start of the rental period. Unlike Europe, you can't pay the balance on arrival.

Overall a highly recommended rental!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Initially we were skeptical of the "short walk to town and the railroad area" until we set out on foot. The way the streets in Santa Fe wind and circle everything seems farther away in the car. Walking was the way to go. Everything we needed for our stay was provided; hairdryer, flat screen TV, DVD's, books and a complete kitchen. I personally don't like staying in motels so I really enjoyed the privacy and enlarged living space of the condo. The only struggle we had was with the living room furniture. It is attractive but with down cushions it was so soft that sitting for any length of time became uncomfortable. Outside of that small matter we found the condo perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Santa Fe.
