This beautiful newly-renovated two-bedroom condo is located only a 10 minute walk from the Plaza and is central to all activities in town including the Rail Yard, Canyon Road, and a short drive to Hyde Park Road which leads to the Ski Basin.

The condo is situated inside a private compound with no drive through traffic. There are two off street parking spots available to you directly in front of the house.

Inside you can enjoy the traditional New Mexico charm of the diamond plaster walls and the kiva fireplace. The art collection that hangs throughout the house is a creative mixture of antiques and contemporary art by local artists. A large sectional sofa surrounds the kiva fire place in the living room to socialize or relax around. There is a writing desk off to the side to work on.

The kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and all the tools needed to prepare a meal for friends and family. From the kitchen door you enter to the private yard surrounded by coyote fence and a large elm tree. The yard has patio furniture and a bbq gas grill for outside entertaining.

The master-bedroom has a custom made Cal-King bed with an extremely comfortable mattress system modeled after the Montage Hotel and is accompanied with luxury linens. The guest bedroom has a comfortable full size bed with an antique vanity. The bathroom is new with an antique vanity and a deep soaking tub.

Location is perfect, but please get some decent furniture

Let me preface this by saying I'm in my late 50s, so someone younger who is not suffering the vagaries of aging might not care, but the living room furniture is much too soft and low to sit on or get out of easily. I had to bend forward and place my hands on the floor in order to get off the sofa, which was not pleasant. The dining room chairs are hard wood, no cushions, so there was literally no place for me to sit. I met a friend from college for a weekend in Santa Fe and we spent most of our "down time" in the master bedroom (which is where the tv is) which is nicely appointed,, with good reading lights and a fluffy, warm duvet. There's a shelf full of books, too! The second bedroom (where I slept) had a wooden chair instead of bedside table and a lamp with a pitiful low wattage bulb , so any reading in bed was impossible. Maybe if the bed were placed next to the vanity it would solve this problem...

The kitchen was relatively well appointed, including a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. There was coffee and a coffee maker, but no coffee filters. The bathroom was clean and lovely, although a couple of towel racks or a hook on the back of the door would be a welcome addition.

Overall, the place was clean and visually pleasing and the location was unbeatable, but uncomfortable for these aging bones. Younger folk would likely be able to look past these minor discomforts and enjoy the quiet, lovely space.

Great location, but uncomfortable

The location of this unit is excellent. It's an easy walk to the railyard district, canyon road, and the plaza. It's also a great spot from which to go farther out in the car.

Unfortunately, the unit itself is uncomfortable. The mattress has huge ridges and valleys and the couches and chairs in the living area are nothing more than glorified pillows. Obviously, both are unpleasant and provided no restful retreat. The kitchen table and chairs were our primary sitting area.

The kitchen is very short on useful amenities. Very few dishes and pans. Worse yet, the knives are extremely dull and as ineffective as they are unsafe.

The bathroom was quite adequate as was the layout of the unit and the outdoor space. The unit was also wonderfully quiet and peaceful.

Once inside the property is lovely but warm in the summer

This is a lovely home with a full kitchen, great bathroom and shower, and 2 bedrooms. We stayed there in early July and, with the outside temps in the low 90s during the day, the house, especially the bedroom, would not cool down. There is a portable a/c unit in the living area and ceiling fans throughout the house. Another a/c unit in the master bedroom would be a great addition and probably solve this issue. As is, we would not stay here again in the summer.

Santa Fe Gem

Tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil neighborhood, only a short walk to the plaza, this home is gorgeous and has all the things you need to make your stay easy, restful and enjoyable.

The architecture the owners have added to this home is unbelievable. The walls are soft, smooth plaster all in white, with tile on the floors. Obviously they must work in design and or architecture because this home is fine in every detail. The couch in the main room is a great place to lounge, read and relax. The beds were very comfortable. The fenced in courtyard was so nice and we spent time outside in the shade enjoying the quiet.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to cook, but since your in Santa Fe and close to some of the best New Mexican food in the world, that would be silly.

The washer and dryer are very convenient.

I highly recommend renting this home.
