Of special interest to our many visiting fishermen and hunters is the “Hideout”, a separate building specifically for tying flies, storing gear, or housing hunting dogs in the onsite kennels (available upon request). If you have a houseful and someone wants to 'rough it' a bit, the hideout even offers a sleeping loft and fireplace.
While here visit nearby Yellowstone National Park, soak in Chico Hot Springs, see Livingston’s many art galleries, savor fine dining at a local restaurant, fish one of the area’s many rivers or take a guided rafting trip, hike a wooded mountain trail or grab a horse and guide for an authentic trail ride...the opportunities are endless!
Come and join us for that unforgettable vacation!
Everything about the property was exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations. The property was clean and well maintained. I was fortunate to meet the owner and enjoyed his hospitality. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to going back next year.
The house had everything we needed, for 4 couples and a child. We all of loved it there, and no one wanted to leave ! The location was perfect. The Yellowstone River is at your doorstep. We loved sitting outside by the river, either on the boulders, Adirondack chairs, or picnic tables. In the daytime, we watched fishing boats go by, or watched the deer in the grass across the river. To say that the sunsets are beautiful is an understatement. The fishermen in our group did not catch anything in front of the house, but that could be because of their lack of experience or that it was late in the season. They enjoyed spending their time trying anyway! Livingston is 15 miles away, which is relatively close, and that’s where the nearest gas station, grocery store, gift shops, and restaurants are located. We enjoyed some restaurants in Livingston, hiking the nearby Pine Creek Falls, touring Yellowstone National Park, and going whitewater rafting in Gardiner. As for the house, we liked that each of the bedrooms have direct access to outside, either to a patio or a balcony. Tips: Yellowstone Valley Grill is a very nice restaurant, worth going to, and is popular, so reserve it at least a week ahead of time if you want to go there. We rented inflatable kayaks from Rubber Ducky River Rentals and really enjoyed floating down the river. Hint: there is a grocery store across the street to buy any beverages you need. Tip: The next day, two of us bought river tubes at the Ace Hardware for about $15, and had someone drive them upstream, so they floated downriver right to the house. If we had thought of that earlier, we would have spent more time floating on the river. There are two shuttle service companies that can move your car from your departure point to your destination.
My family and I had an awesome time at the house. The river was steps away, the mountain hiking was a few minutes drive. We are planning to come back nect year.
This being our 4th visit to the riverhouse and every time is just as delightful as the first. The housekeeping deserves a big thumbs up, the place was immaculate! The flower garden was beautifully kept and blooming in all its glory. The wildlife is so fun to watch. The best part of course is that beautiful Yellowstone River and those awesome mountains. Fishing was good and easy access to the river. Livingston is only a few miles up the road with nice restaurants, art studios and shops. Chico Spring, which is only a few miles also is a must to visit. God willing we will visit next year!
We found the River House to be the perfect place for a summer vacation base. Everything was comfortable, clean, well-thought out in making things easy for guests, and equipped with everything we needed to feel at home - plenty of towels, cookware, outdoor seating to enjoy the Yellowstone River and Big Sky country, and even local wildlife-watching. The owners and caretakers answered all of our pre-arrival questions swiftly. This place makes you want to stay "at home" (although Yellowstone National Park is an easy drive). There is lots to watch on the river during the summer!
Our family of 16 had a wonderful time staying at your house. Everything we needed was at the house. House was in great shape, neat and clean. Beautiful view of the mountains and river. Enjoyed sitting by the river everyday having a cup of coffee or cocktail. Our children bought inner tubes and went floating on the river right by the house. Great place for a vacation. Recommend it to all. Thank you so much for having us.
Excellent location, ideally situated with easy access to Yellowstone Park, Several hiking trails, excellent fishing guides, horseback riding trails, river rafting, near by ski resorts, great near by restaurants, and much more.
