Of special interest to our many visiting fishermen and hunters is the “Hideout”, a separate building specifically for tying flies, storing gear, or housing hunting dogs in the onsite kennels (available upon request). If you have a houseful and someone wants to 'rough it' a bit, the hideout even offers a sleeping loft and fireplace.
While here visit nearby Yellowstone National Park, soak in Chico Hot Springs, see Livingston’s many art galleries, savor fine dining at a local restaurant, fish one of the area’s many rivers or take a guided rafting trip, hike a wooded mountain trail or grab a horse and guide for an authentic trail ride...the opportunities are endless!
Come and join us for that unforgettable vacation!
Wow, what a wonderful spot! The home and setting are gorgeous! The home is comfortable and well appointed.
Four college friends got together at the house and we could not have had a better time! Being on the bank of the Yellowstone river, close to Yellowstone National Park, horseback riding, and hiking, made our stay just wonderful! We had not spent more than a day or so all together in 35 years since graduation. We could not have chosen a better spot. The trip involved several 'firsts' for a couple of us, a first hike ever and a first horseback ride ever, for the two from New York City. It was a vacation none of us will ever forget! Because of the fun we all had, we are definitely going to get the group together somewhere on a much more frequent basis! Two thumbs up this vacation rental!!!
Our family of 9 - ages 7 to 75 had a great week at the River House. The setting on the river is pristine, very accessible with ever changing views of this scenic area. We spent alot of time floating the river, catching some Brown Trout and relaxing on the expansive lawn area. The boys had a few football games out back. Easy drive to Yellowstone Park for a day's sightseeing. We loved Livingston and had a morning of strolling the galleries and shops.
The kitchen was well equipped - we did big breakfasts every morning and grilled most nights. The house was clean and set up for us on arrival.
We were not aware the owner's home was next door on the property. Very much enjoyed meeting Fred Paoli and his story of the history of the property.
A truly relaxing and wonder spot for a family/multi generation vacation.
Many thanks, susan meade
The Riverhouse on the Yellowstone is really nice. It is cozy with 4 full bedrooms and right on the river. The house is in like new condition. The setting is beautiful and there are nice outdoor sitting and eating areas.
A great choice for family or four person group. The setting is marvelous. V ry comfortable and easy. A little old on the house and a little dark, and kitchen a bit sparse in terms of cooking stuff for a group of four. Overall a great place.
Everything about the property was exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations. The property was clean and well maintained. I was fortunate to meet the owner and enjoyed his hospitality. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to going back next year.
The house had everything we needed, for 4 couples and a child. We all of loved it there, and no one wanted to leave ! The location was perfect. The Yellowstone River is at your doorstep. We loved sitting outside by the river, either on the boulders, Adirondack chairs, or picnic tables. In the daytime, we watched fishing boats go by, or watched the deer in the grass across the river. To say that the sunsets are beautiful is an understatement. The fishermen in our group did not catch anything in front of the house, but that could be because of their lack of experience or that it was late in the season. They enjoyed spending their time trying anyway! Livingston is 15 miles away, which is relatively close, and that’s where the nearest gas station, grocery store, gift shops, and restaurants are located. We enjoyed some restaurants in Livingston, hiking the nearby Pine Creek Falls, touring Yellowstone National Park, and going whitewater rafting in Gardiner. As for the house, we liked that each of the bedrooms have direct access to outside, either to a patio or a balcony. Tips: Yellowstone Valley Grill is a very nice restaurant, worth going to, and is popular, so reserve it at least a week ahead of time if you want to go there. We rented inflatable kayaks from Rubber Ducky River Rentals and really enjoyed floating down the river. Hint: there is a grocery store across the street to buy any beverages you need. Tip: The next day, two of us bought river tubes at the Ace Hardware for about $15, and had someone drive them upstream, so they floated downriver right to the house. If we had thought of that earlier, we would have spent more time floating on the river. There are two shuttle service companies that can move your car from your departure point to your destination.
Excellent location, ideally situated with easy access to Yellowstone Park, Several hiking trails, excellent fishing guides, horseback riding trails, river rafting, near by ski resorts, great near by restaurants, and much more.
