Located in historic Fort Greene, Brooklyn this large and comfortable apartment is centrally located to everything that makes this one of the most charming neighborhoods in New York City. Within blocks of the internationally renown Brooklyn Academy of Music, home of The Next Wave Festival, including the Harvey Theater and the Rose Cinema (a complex of four movie theaters inside the Academy's main building), Long Island University and Hospital, and Pratt Institute in the opposite direction. Fort Greene is also proud to be the home of the Mark Morris Dance Group. The apartment itself is on the ground floor of a brick Italianate townhouse on a tree-lined Landmarked block, built before the American Civil War in 1859. You will enter through a private entrance into a large, open living room, dining room and kitchen.
Former president of the local neighborhood community organization the Fort Greene Association. I wish you a pleasant stay.
Paul Palazzo purchased this apartment in 1998
Fort Greene Garden in the heart of Fort Greeen Brooklyn which is the most vibrant and friendly neighborhood in all of New York City. You can have the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and then come home to your own quiet retreat of friendly restaurants, bars, cultural institutions, and street life. Don't just visit New York but make friends in Fort Greene.
Roll out of bed to your corner bistro and if that doesn't suit you visit the Farmer's Market or Brooklyn Flea on Saturday. Stroll down our tree covered streets and stop into one of our friendly shops and restaurants.
The pictures just don't do this apartment justice. The place is just amazing inside. Well designed, well furnished and just chalked full of style. The owners certainly didn't skimp on amenities. From the thick and fluffy white towels to the great quilts and down comforters. Even the bathroom fixtures are amazing. There is plenty of room for storage in the closets and just every little thing you need is there as if you were home. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking utensils you'd need and some you didn't know you needed. This Fort Greene apartment is close to quaint places to dine, grocery stores, laundromats and parks to relax in. The owners are so helpful when it comes to recommending things in the area from restaurants to taxi services (which we appreciated greatly - Myrtle's was perfect!). Paul and Allen were available for questions and never hesitated to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. I highly recommend Fort Greene Garden to anyone planning to stay in New York. If you want a place that's not in the hub of Manhattan, but close enough to get there with just a taxi or subway ride away Fort Greene Garden is the place for you. You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your amazing place! It was truly our home away from home!
What a wonderful place to stay! Paul is a lovely host and provided us with all the information we could have asked for.
Perfect logdings, with two size-able bedrooms and a well appointed kitchen, bathroom and seating area.
All the linens were of great quality and the beds were quite comfortable.
Many good eateries close by with a small grocery store 5 min walk away.
The subway is right around the corner for easy travel to Manhatten.
We will be staying again!
I loved my stay in this charming Fort Green apartment. It was so clean, nicely furnished and safe. I loved walking the neigborhood with my son. Everybody we met were so friendly. Having traveled back to NYC many times, I have never really spent time in Brooklyn. What I have missed! I will be back and hope this beautiful, charming apartment will be available.
Three old friends had a wonderful time in NY and it had a lot to do with where we stayed. This apartment is beautifully appointed, cozy, updated, pristine and very accommodating. Close to subway to the city and wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood is simply lovely- we arrived with the winds of the Hurricane Joquin but it did not dampen our stay at all. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone considering a visit to NYC. Quick subway ride into lower Manhattan. We are already talking of a return visit soon.
Paul's apartment was perfect for our stay while visiting the NYC area. Close to but not inside Manhattan. The neighborhood is laid back, family friendly, and just plain "cool". The apartment is comfortable, roomy, and very well furnished. It was very quiet and the only stairs are from ground level to the door, 3 steps down. We thought we could easily live in such a place. Paul was very helpful and had some great recommendations for food. We'll be back.
This spacious apartment is comfortably furnished and well situated on a quiet street in a vibrant neighborhood. The back patio is particularly inviting for a spring or summer gathering. The owner is attentive, keeps the apartment sparkling clean and well maintained, and has equipped the kitchen with quality appliances and utensils to satisfy guests who enjoy cooking at home. This has become our favorite home-away-from-home in Brooklyn! It's a very popular rental, so try to book it as early as possible.
All of the restaurants, shops and other services are within a block or two either direction and will provide you with everything you will need to make your time here comfortable and fun.
