Incredible view, clean well kept home, beautiful private setting, truly for myself and my family a home away from home.We really appreciate being able to talk with Jim be it by phone or e mail as if we are old friends very relaxed, trusting folks,we felt very confident after our first conversation that it would be as Jim explained. For us as a family snowmobiling has been a passion and truly the accomadations we enjoyed only made a great thing better, especially the privacy and freedom to sit in the hot tub at 8 in the morning enjoying a cup of coffee or after a days ride to soak away the aches. Also the manager Dan was awesome, the kind of fellow that you could call a friend after minutes visiting,we will return,we can't wait thank you very much.
My family stayed here for a week and quite simply, we have had a fantastic time. We rafted, hiked, climbed, sky-dived, cycled, build damns and bridges, played cards and laughed until we have cried! After all the things we did, it was fantastic to come "home" into the embrace of the Bear's Paws.
I appreciate that house is (I suspect partly at least) a business/ investment but it has never felt like that in our dealings with owners or indeed with the house. We have felt like friends staying in a friends house while they were away.
Our family stayed at Bear Paw for a long weekend following our son's wedding. The location was amazing with mountains all around. The lodge was ideal for all three generations of our family (the youngest being 3 years old). It is in immaculate condition and all rooms are well equipped including a singing washing machine which amused the children. The hot tub was also a great success as was the fire pit. Dan, the housekeeper, has a wealth of local knowledge and nothing was too much trouble including finding us another small bike for one of the boys. We have rented many properties in the past but this has to be the best at any time of year and we would highly recommend it.
I traveled with a group of 6 adults and 2 children in August 2016 and this property impressed us all. It was very clean and spacious, and was equipped with everything we needed throughout. The only suggestions our group had would be to make it clear in the listing that there is someone living in the basement unit (property manager). This was not a problem for us at all and he was very kind and helpful throughout our stay, but I know that some of us would have appreciated knowing that there was someone else staying on site in advance. We were also under the impression that there were some children's toys somewhere in the house; either we never found these, or it was a chest of board games they were referring to; so for anyone traveling with younger children (we had a 3 y.o. with us) know to bring some items from home for a rainy day.
Overall, our stay was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Thanks so much to Dan for looking after all of our needs while staying at the house!
Beautiful location. House was very clean and well appointed. Yard, bikes, fire pit, view were big hits with everyone.
This is a beautiful house - well maintained and managed. It has everything you could possibly want or need. It is tastefully furnished and well-equipped. The views and surrounding countryside are stunning. Elk, deer and skunk passed through the garden. There was plenty to keep us occupied if we stayed at the house for the day. It has badminton, basket ball net, bikes, to name a few and of course the hot tub which was greatly appreciated after a day's excursion. I cannot fault this accommodation. I would go back there anytime. Dan , who is on site, was a very helpful and interesting guy.
Whilst in a remote location, Bear's Paw Lodge is a fabulous detached house surrounded by stunning mountains & beautiful rural vistas. The property is particularly spacious and provided a warm, comfortable & welcoming atmosphere in which our group of 4 were able to relax. The 6 acre site has beautiful landscaped lawns & wooded areas to explore with deer & other wild life visiting us on a regular basis. Dan, the resident caretaker was a really great guy, providing us with friendly advice & assistance with any query we had regarding the house & local places of interest. Bear's Paw Lodge is located in the Blaeberry Valley & is approx. 20 minutes drive from Golden where there are cafes, shops & other attractions. Sadly, the local Mobery pub/restaurant is no longer open & therefore the closest restaurants available were in Golden itself - unless of course you ate at home using the great kitchen facilities available in the Lodge. This is truly a fabulous accommodation, meticulously maintained & cared for - a great place to either relax, or use as a base to visit the many National Parks which are all within an hour's drive of the property.
