Welcome to 'Lumpy Ridge Retreat" (#19-P). This wonderful, year-round, updated cabin is nestled in huge rock outcroppings and has spectacular views of Long's Peak and Twin Sisters. It was completely remodeled a few years ago and provides all the modern amenities of home. You will love the ambiance of the cabin and its surroundings which may include frequent visits from elk, deer, coyotes, bobcats, and the occasional bear. You will truly 'get away from it all' and fully enjoy the mountain experience.
Located two miles from downtown Estes Park, 'Lumpy Ridge Retreat' is located in the revered, north side of town beneath Lumpy Ridge and within one-half mile of Lumpy Ridge Trailhead (aka Gem Lake Trailhead) in Rocky Mountain National Park. Access is easy from the main road.
Lumpy Ridge Retreat has fantastic views to be enjoyed from four outdoor living spaces, including two gazebos: one is behind the cabin and built into the huge boulders with a four-person patio set and grill, and the other has beautiful views and a cozy outdoor wicker sofa set and coffee table (see photo). After a long day of hiking, soak in the private hot tub under the clear Rocky Mountain sky. With two picnic tables, this cabin is designed for ultimate relaxation. If steps are a problem, there is fairly level access to the cabin from the rear of the property.
The inside of the cabin is cozy and comfortable with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Decorated in cabin decor, you will feel the warmth of this amazing getaway. With many large windows enveloping the outdoors, this is truly a year round destination.
You will enjoy all the amenities of home, including smart TVs, DVD player and video library, and high speed wifi. The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, private deck, gas fireplace, and an ensuite full bath with jetted tub. The second bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and great views. The third bedroom has two twin log beds. Each bedroom as a closet and dresser with extra pillows and linens. Cooking will be a pleasure on the gas stove or gas grill located a few steps outside in the backyard gazebo. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances. There is also a washer and dryer, and if needed, a window air conditioner and several fans.

Some comments from our guest book:
'We were thrilled to see all the wildlife. Herds of elk everywhere. Deer too, of course, but no bears. The views were spectacular. The cabin was absolutely delightful-cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay immensely. You always know you have found a truly great place when you don't want to leave-this was it!' The Deans (Florida)
'This home was perfect. It is situated very well and very clean. It was my parents first visit to Estes Park and this home was the perfect introduction! The rock face in the backyard is a blast to explore. Saw tons of wildlife all around and loved hearing the coyotes howl at night. We plan on returning!! Thanks so much!' Tanger family (Indiana)

'This house had the perfect setup for our family, the decor is beautiful and cozy and the amenities are fabulous! The view must be the best in Estes Park! We could have stayed home all day and the kids would have been perfectly happy. All of the touches that the owners provided in the cabin like hairdryers, coffee, etc, make it very welcoming to be here. Our favorite part of each day was having breakfast and coffee in the gazebo! The comfort, weather, and view made it perfect. Thank you!!!' Chris, Brandy and family
'Last year we had the Big Thompson river out the back door and this year, the rocks--rocks win! We would love to stay here again. Hot tub was wonderful in the cold early mornings. Master Bedrrom--fantastic views! Very cozy Home!' Dan, Christy, Jacob, and Ben

After living on the Colorado front range all of our lives and visiting Estes since we were kids, we decided to have our own place to escape our busy lives in the city. In 1998, we were fortunate to buy the little cabin of my father's friend's mother. The views and surroundings are spectacular and hard to beat. The cabin has been a work in progress and through two major remodels, is finally complete. Spending time at the cabin refreshes our minds and hearts and our family is blessed to own a little slice of heaven.
Jeff and Janeen McGinn purchased this cabin in 1998
We chose Estes Park because its spectacular landscape and its proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park. We enjoy all the restaurants, shopping, and special events the Town offers.
The cabin is in a very special location. Just 2 miles away, you can be a part of the hustle and bustle of the Town of Estes Park, or just enjoy the Rocky Mountain experience at the cabin. The surroundings are beautiful with views from nearly every spot.
We've stayed at this place three years in a row, it is wonderful. Great spot for families with kids. Enough outside stomping ground to keep them busy when you are there plus the hot tub. The owners have been great every time! Really the best place we have stayed all of our times visiting RMNP.
The Lumpy Ridge Retreat is the perfect place for an Estes Park/RMNP get away. The proximity to town is perfect - far enough into the surroundings to feel away from it all, but a quick, easy trip to town or the Park. The cabin is very clean and well-maintained and there were so many small "extras" that the owners thoughtfully provided (i.e., books, a few small toys, movies, plenty of towels, hangers and extra shelves in the closets, etc.). Communication from the owners was clear, timely and it was nice that they checked-in (via email) to be sure we had what we needed during our stay. We highly recommend LRR and will definitely stay again when we visit the area.
We've taken a short week vacation in Estes for about 10 years in a row and the last 5 we've spent at the Lumpy Ridge Retreat. It is perfect for two couples or even three if you don't mind sharing a bathroom (2 bathrooms). It is comfortable, clean, well-equipped and close enough to town and the park. Quiet at night. Good views. If you want to do your own cooking its set up for that, indoors and out. Hot tub, outside gazebo, front porch. We love Estes and having the LLR available makes going back year after year an easy decision. Our group is just two adult couples but I think it would be a good set up for a family as well.
This cabin is by far the best rental we have ever stayed in. The cabin is immaculate and the views are AMAZING!! Location is close to town but quiet and feels secluded. We enjoyed the gazebo daily and our 7 year old loved exploring the rocks. The owners are wonderful to work with and we can't wait to go back!
We had a wonderful time during our stay at Lumpy Ridge. The cabin is comfortable, clean and has everything you need. The views from every room are amazing. We spent most of our time under the gazebo relaxing. The kids loved exploring and climbing the rocks! It is a quick drive into Estes, horse back riding and RMNP without all the noise and traffic. Owners are great to work with. Highly recommend this property !!!!
This is a beautiful property! The house has been updated, but retains it's historic charm and is immaculately kept. The scenery is spectacular and easily enjoyed from the multiple outdoor seating areas. A bonus was the close proximity to the route of the Rocky Mountain Half Marathon!
Ski resort 1 hour away. BlackHawk casinos 1 hr 20 min
Fantastic snow shoeing in RMNP
