Thank you for letting us use your home. It was a perfect place to spend our vacation as a family together. We enjoyed the close walk to the river and the family games in your beautiful yard!
The house and yard were lovely. It had all the amenities needed for a wonderful extended family vacation.
The owner helpful and available and responsive if needed. We would definitely stay there again.
This is a spacious older home filled with lots of antiques. Plenty of room to spread out although most of us ended up on the screened porch in the evenings, reading, relaxing or making a puzzle. Our family spent many summers in this area and the location was perfect for us. Easy walk or short drive to all the local places we love. As mentioned, there is no dishwasher but there are plenty of paper products provided as well as multiple sets of dishes for those not adverse to hand washing. As in any old home, the stairs were somewhat steep and narrow but there was adequate lighting and hand rails on both sides for safety.
The internet service throughout the house was excellent. There was never a problem getting on even with 7 of us using it at the same time. Lucy is a joy to work with, very responsive if we had a question without being intrusive. We enjoyed exploring the house with all it's historical elements, had a fantastic vacation and would definitely come back here again.
Our multi-generational, extended family thoroughly enjoyed the location and outdoor living spaces and outdoor shower offered by this property. Very spacious indoors with beautiful screened porch for playing games at night. We loved walking to miniature golf, ice cream shops, corner bakery each morning for breakfast goodies and dips in the Parker River only a block away. Owner extremely friendly, helpful and available if needed. Highly recommend for classic cape vacation fun!
Really enjoy the house. The yard and screened in porch are perfect for large family games and common areas to hang out at night. Very close to Bass River, so kids can go down and catch crabs, snails, and other sea creatures. The dining room table can seat 12 or more if you squeeze in, great for cooking lobsters at home! Also, the three showers are great for a large group, the outdoor is best but it depends on who you ask. All in all it's a really great area, not far from public beaches and in quiet neighborhood, close to rt 28 too for ice cream and putt putt golf!
Great family home. Room for families and big enough to delegate yourself from company. We enjoyed family games in the yard and board games on the front porch. Dinning table seats at least 10 with room to spare. The owner, Lucy, goes out of her way to meet your needs.
A real taste of historic Bass River with a local "beach" area and windmill just steps away and a healthy hike to Nantucket Sound. Area amenities were within 1 mile with a ton of restaurants, shops and recreational activities. This is a getaway for someone who longs for old Cape Cod, the simplicity of life (with all the amenities!) and sand in your feet. The home was clean, the property owner delightful with lots of information and assistance. She helped in every way to make our stay a pleasant one.
The house is located in the Bass River section of South Yarmouth, an area on the National Register of Historic Homes with quiet tree-lined streets south of Route 28 along the warm calm waters of Nantucket Sound and Bass River. There are many nearby fresh-water ponds. The neighborhood is five miles to Hyannis, business and transportation center of the Cape with bus, airport, and ferry terminals; malls, theatres, restaurants and the famous Cape Cod Melody Tent. Yarmouth is conveniently located in the middle of Cape Cod, making possible day excursions in either direction from Sandwich to Provincetown; as well as to Boston and surrounding towns rich in early American history.
