Everything was great until we ran out of water....owner might want to check it out we had 12people and I think the well cannot handle it!!!!!!
Great place to stay with amazing view of the Siuslaw river. Very comfortable and location is right by the warf. Very satisfied
We absolutely loved our stay here. There are amazing views from the wrap-around deck (and inside too!), a spacious yard, and the house is close enough to downtown to be convenient, but tucked away enough so you have privacy. The owners are also very friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with.
Had a great time here. The turn to get to the house is a small private road (We all missed it the first time) which leads up a one lane driveway, but when you get to the top it opens up to a wide area. The view from the house out of the back is beautiful. A bit of everything from the forest, to Old Town, to the river.
Everything is minutes away, even the Great Dunes. Old Town has nice little shops, and there are restaurants that have something for everyone. There are also many different places to get coffee.
As for the house it is very comfortable. A 2 level house means kids can hang on one floor, while adults visit on the other.
While we didn't spend much time at the house, when we did we could sit around the firepit, or watch one of the hundreds of dvds, vhs tapes, or movies on hard drive that they have, or sit on the back patio and enjoy the view.
The five rooms are comfortable, with anyone extra having couche. Everyone who slept over remarked about what a great house it was.
The owners are great. Any questions are answered quickly.
If I had to be critical about anything, it would be the water heater. For a house that sleeps 12, only 4 people can shower before the next group has to wait. I would suggest for large groups to have 1/2 shower at night. Thus is not a complaint, just an observation and helpful advice. If we ever go back to Florence we would definitely stay here again.
Florence is my favorite place in Oregon!
We stayed here with 10 adults on Memorial Day Weekend and had a blast. This is one of few houses that can actually sleep 10 grown adults in an actual bed so that was the major appeal for us. One thing to note: if your group is loud and wakes up early, you may want to consider a bedroom downstairs. The master bedroom is on the main floor as the living room and it's right outside the kitchen. Sometimes our early riser friends would wake us up in the morning in the master bedroom. If you enjoy peace and quiet in the morning, you may opt to take a smaller, darker, and more secluded bedroom downstairs.
All the pictures resemble what they look like in real life. Note: This is a simple house without the fancy and extravagant bells and whistles that you might find in other VRBOs. For example, there is no hut tub. Either way, this was perfect for us! There is a lot of space in the living room and dining room to hang out. Lots of board games that are super fun, even for adults. The deck is lengthy and the view is beautiful! The yard was great for games and frolicking. Also important to note: I didn't get bit by any bugs!
Kristi is an excellent and prompt communicator - she usually gets back within the hour. If you're looking to book something ASAP in Florence, I guarantee she will get back to you first.
If you like adventures, we recommend hiking the John Dellenback Dunes Trail and doing the Sandrail Tour (a buggy that can go up to 55mph through the dunes) through Sandland Adventures! Sandland Adventures is literally a 4 minute drive from the house. Also, it turns out our friend's brother works at Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters, a coffee shop in the quaint and adorable downtown area. There's a spacious patio in the back where you can hang out, enjoy the view of the river, and sip your coffee.
Have a fun time on your trip to Florence! We will live vicariously through you if you stay here since we can only make it down so often!
I am part of a group of ladies that went to High school together 53 years ago. We travel twice a year together. This time there were 9 of us that spent 4 night and 3 days in this beautiful home. Don't let the picture fool you. It may look small from the front but it is very spacious. The kitchen has lots of working space and the living room is very comfy with a large screen TV. Every room has a TV. The house was very neat and clean but oh so homey. Best of all is the view of Old Town, the Siuslaw River and you can even see the ocean from a distance. The whole back of the house is windows and a deck that wraps around the house. We will definitely be back and when my kids and there friends come we will stay here if possible. Old Town is also a treasure of wonderful things to do. Lots of shops, wonderful restaurants (La Pomodori and 385 Restobar are my favorites). We also have the Pioneer Museum which is a must. You will want to check out the sand dunes and ride the sand dune buggies. You wont be disappointed if you stay here.
