Spacious, 3bd/3bth, Luxurious and Centrally Located 2 Blocks from Obelisk

Bedrooms 3
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

2000 sq ft--Sleeps 6 but great for a couple too that likes space and luxury!

A unique opportunity to live the full Buenos Aires experience of old-world elegance and luxury but with every modern convenience right in the middle of town.

This very large (190 m2; approx 2,000 sq.ft.) apartment revolves around a plant-filled Spanish-tiled courtyard with a built-in parrilla and large enough to dine, relax and enjoy the open air. The Spanish colonial style family room with wet bar has an over-sized couch to watch TV or listen to music with surround sound.

The living-dining room has two balconies facing another elegant French-style building. Its classical elegant furnishings and chandelier complement a large fireplace. An office off the living room has a balcony which provides bright light. It has a PC, Internet, Wi-Fi, laser printer and a 21” monitor. The room is also fully equipped to serve as a guest room with a couch and a Murphy bed with a quality mattress.

The spacious master suite, which also opens onto the Spanish courtyard, is handsomely appointed. It has a large marble bathroom, separate woman’s make-up area and a walk-in closet/dressing room. Upstairs is a second, loft-style bedroom with a private bath. A third downstairs bath has a deep Jacuzzi. The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen includes a dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer..

The apartment is located in the Tribunales area and a few meters from Corrientes with its many restaurants, theaters and nightlife. The Florida street shopping district and the elegant shops of Recoleta are only a short walk away. Three metro lines within one to three blocks provide easy access to other popular neighborhoods like Palermo, Recoleta and Belgrano.

With the obelisk two blocks away and the Colon Theater only three blocks away, few apartments in Buenos Aires offer this type of luxury in the center of town at this reasonable rate. Nothing has been spared to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.

The space is fully air conditioned. A Sony sound system provides excellent listening throughout the courtyard and the main rooms. Egyptian cotton linens and goose down comforters and pillows together with a high quality mattress assure a good night’s sleep.

All five elegant chandeliers have dimmers to create atmospheric lighting in every room. Fine oriental carpets cover the beautiful hardwood floors. Maid service is available during your stay at a modest fee at your convenience.

About Rodney and Geraldine Rodriguez

We are retired professors who visited Buenos Aires and fell in love with the city and decided to retire there. We restored a 2000 sq ft century-old apartment to its former glory, respecting its architectural integrity but incorporating every modern convenience. We live there four months of the year, and we like to share it with like-minded people when we're away. We enjoy getting to know our tenants before they arrive to help orient them in Buenos Aires and its environs.

Rodney and Geraldine Rodriguez purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Rodney and Geraldine Rodriguez chose Buenos Aires

We live in Manhattan, so we have become accostumed to the hussle and bussle of the big city and to having everything at our fingertips. We wanted the same environment in Buenos Aires, so we settled on the Tribunales area, which has three Metro lines connecting us to every other part of the city. We feel we made a excellent decision.

What makes this apartment unique

As patrons of the arts, we were attracted to Buenos Aires' world-class arts infrastructure with its ballet, opera, concerts and live theater. Our apartment is located just off Corrientes Avenue, the city's main theater district. We enjoy having cafes throughout the city so we can stop when we're tired and have a cup of coffee and rest before continuing our journey. We also enjoy good food at reasonable prices, and you can't beat Buenos Aires in that category. Our apartment is surrounded by literally hundreds of restaurants of every price range and cuisine.

Inside our apartment we mostly enjoy its spaciousness with many comfortable nooks. We have a large circle of friends, and our apartment is perfect for entertaining. When the weather permits we dine in the open Spanish courtyard to the sound of singing birds. On cold nights we snuggle in front of our fireplace. We make our cocktails in the family room with its wet bar and ice machine. Or we just sit to watch TV, read or listen to music in surround sound.

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have found a better place to serve our needs for our stay in BA! We were 3 couples traveling together and found this apt. to be ideal! Met at the airport with no problems, driven to the apt and met by Roberto and Varme, managing agents in BA. Centrally located, grocery stores, pizzerias, restaurants, pastry shops! What more could you ask for!! Beautifully decorated and plenty of information provided about the city and area. Even helped us secure cabs to go the the cruise ship terminal! Owner was easy to work with no hassles!!!

Our dream vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

Where do we begin!!my husband and I had the great pleasure to spend one month in this beautiful, charming apt. We were so fortunate to meet the lovely owners prior to our visit who we met through mutual friends. They were so gracious to tell us about their apt and beautiful BA.

When we arrived at the airport we were greeted by our wonderfuldriver/tour guide who we helped us throughout our stay. When we arrived at the building,Roberto and Varme, the managing agents of the

apt., were waiting for us with smiles and hugs! They were so very helpful throughout our stay... No matter what questions we had.

The apt was simply lovely ... Beautiful, spacious, well furnished according to the culture of the beautiful country. The beds were clean and comfortable. Chandeliers in every room... This is what I saw when I woke up each morning! And loved the balcony.

The location of the apt was convenient to everything. We were in the "times "square" of the city... Busy, energy ,people, cabs, buses, subway, restaurants, grocery store, bakery, gelato and of course Avenida Florida for shopping.....everything within walking distance. People were so helpful when you asked for directions.Also.. 2 coffee shops at each end of our street..we got friendly with our servers.;)

So much to see/do in BA! We went to outdoor concerts, gaucho ranch, tango lessons and shows, weekend craft festivals and more!!

We were so fortunate to share this magical experience with our daughter and our friends. It was like our home away from home. If we ever return, mwe would certainly stay her once again!!!

Fantastic traditional BA city apartment

  • 5 of 5

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your apartment in Buenos Aires.

Roberto and Varme are very charming and gracious hosts. Everything was well prepared for our arrival, and it was especially appreciated that they would be at the apartment to welcome us at midnight after our flight was delayed about 15 hours.

And the apartment itself is fantastic! We loved the layout and architecture, as well as all of the work that has gone into choosing furnishings. ( I especially liked the decor in the office/2nd bedroom.)

Thanks for having us as guests. We hope to have the opportunity to stay here again.

Beautiful apartment, conveniently located.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for a week in February. The reality of this home surpassed even the description and the photos. Every comfort for guests has been considered, and the place is beautifully decorated. I like to cook, so I especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and lovely patio with a traditional Argentine grill (parrilla). Although, truth be told, there are so many good restaurants in the area with reasonable prices and a lot of delicious Argentine malbec to drink, we didn’t do much cooking! We appreciated the convenience of being centrally-located near the theaters and public transportation. There is a wonderful department store a block away (the Corte Ingles), where I was able to find a great pair of shoes, and grocery and wine stores nearby, with a bakery just across the street. It’s a busy urban area, and we enjoyed feeling a part of this vibrant city. Roberto, the manager, was very helpful throughout the visit. We would highly recommend this home to anyone, and would love to go back again.

Beautiful Apartment in a Fabulous Location!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a week in this luxious apartment in March. This beautiful place should not be called an apartment since it is so large and comfortable it is like a full sized house in the US. The furniture is extraordinary. It is filled with classic, comfortable pieces that fit the apartment’s old world charm. The nicely organized kitchen is fully equipped for meal preparation and in addition you are able to grill on a typical Argentinian outdoor grill in the spacious courtyard. The courtyard is filled with local tile and is sun filled during the day. There is not one thing you could want that is not furnished in this fabulous apt. We stayed in the front bedroom facing the street and our friends stayed in the master suite. We did not use the extra bedroom in the back of the unit, which was formerly a maid’s space. That suite is large and would be perfect for guests or children. I can’t say enough about the perfect location. It is comparable to staying near Times Square in NYC. This location is a lively area near the theaters and wonderful restaurants with exciting and interesting street life. It was great to go out walking at night in the area to be part of such an exhilerating city. We felt perfectly safe at all times so just use cautions as you would use in any large city. We easily walked to other neighborhoods. Don’t miss Palermo, Rocoleta and San Telmo. They are very interesting and have nice restaurants. We enjoy walking but if you don’t, cabs are very inexpensive compared to the States. There is a grocery store close by and a fantastic bakery across the street, as well as a wine shop. At the end of the day, I soaked my weary NJ bones in the huge tub with a glass of wine, while my husband manned the grill. The beds are comfortable and the linens exquisite. Where have you stayed that you have had your own ice machine? We do not speak Spanish so Roberto, the manager, was our lifesaver. Owners could not have done more for us. We will definitely be back to this exciting city and gracious apartment in this perfect location.

Location, location,

  • 3 of 5

The appartment is very well maintained: clean and complete in terms of furnishings, as well as kitchen equipment. There are personal touches throughout which add comfort and style. The indoor patio is a plus. The downsides are related to location: Tlacahuano is dirty, rundown and noisy, making the front bedroom challenging for sleeping. The building itself has seen better times. Corrientes is also a bit down-at-the-heels, but the area improves as you go north towards Santa Fe. Difficult for very young children unless they sleep in the main bedroom area.
