About the property

Charming studio apartment with plush queen bed sleeps 2

"the Nest" apartment located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood is just 3 minutes walking distance to Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, an organic grocery store, a wine shop and many more conveniences and Boston attractions.

Our booking and cancellation policies are very guest friendly: We do not charge extra for cleaning, credit card fees nor security deposits. Currently there are no lodging taxes. A booking/service fee may be added by the respective listing agency, which is the one cost out of our control.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to "The Nest", a charming top floor studio apartment, oozing with comfy quaintness. This unit is located in a late 1800s Beacon Hill building at the very top of the Hill and the center of downtown Boston. The original pumpkin pine flooring, original decorative fireplace and antique furniture add to the appeal. The apartment is extremely quiet located at the back of the building with tree tops and sunlight filtering in from the south-facing windows.

Basics: The kitchen is done to a very high standard. Normal-sized refrigerator, gas stove, Bosch quiet dishwasher, microwave and deep sink. The bed is a Beauty-Rest plush-firm queen with down pillows and sateen sheets. The bathroom has marble tiled floor, high-end fixtures and a beautiful nickel-plated rain/hand shower and tub. A common washer/dryer is located at the bottom of the stairs along with a place to keep a bike.

Electronics: An LG LED HDTV (w/ standard HD cable (CNN, CNBC, HBO, ESPN, etc.), DVR to record, DVD/CD player (w/ DVDs), very fast business-grade wired/wireless internet, telephone & answering machine with free US & Canada LD, hair-dryer, vacuum, laser printer.

Eco-Green: Aside from an efficient apartment in a location that promotes walking and public transportation; bed linens and pillows are eco-certified and cleaning agents, paper supplies and soaps/shampoos are earth-friendly whenever possible. We recycle. Cloth shopping totes are hanging in the kitchen and the electricity is powered from wind energy.

Essentials: No smoking, no pets, no parking (ask), sleeps 2 pax maximum (no exceptions). Includes all utilities and furnishings, very detailed owner's manual for apartment and neighborhood, along with owner's personalized restaurant map.

Expectations: Please note that Beacon Hill is on a hill in an urban historical zone, so there is a fair amount of walking when staying in this neighborhood. The Nest apartment is a 4th floor walk-up (3 flights of stairs; European 3rd floor) without an elevator, which may not be suitable for all guests.

We have other accommodations in the Beacon Hill neighborhood with different profiles, so just ask.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first visit and we lucked out with the nest. The location is great. Grocery and liquor stores within a 2 minute walk. Train stations nearby. Easy to walk around the beacon hill area. Very quite. Bed and shower were both great. We had every thing we needed. Dining within walking distance.

My only improvement would be to have one upholstered chair.....Not a big deal. [note from owner: we added a very nice chair based on this suggestion]

We plan on going back next year.

The Nest is in a perfect location, beautiful accommodations that amplify pride of ownership!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in the Nest for the month of July. Everything was exactly as described and more. Pride of ownership is evident right when you walk in. Paul has thought of everything from the fully stocked kitchen (even had two different size coffee presses) to high speed internet, upgraded cable service, air conditioner, very comfortable bed, updated bathroom, very clean, quiet building, quiet neighborhood, everything was just perfect. The location is again, perfect. I was able to get everywhere in Boston and beyond by walking and if time was an issue the T line was a 5 min walk to the Commons. Don't let the 3 flights of stairs give you second thoughts, it is not as challenging as you might think. There are places to sit and rest on each level if needed and the rewards of beautiful accommodations, perfect location and an owner who is dedicated to making your stay in Boston a memorable one far outweigh what some might view as a negative. If my travels bring me back to Boston I will, with 100% certainty, stay at "The Nest" again. Thank you Paul!

The Nest was the perfect place to spend six days in Boston. The apartment was cosy with everything you could possibly need including a great book of local tips. The area is beautiful and Paul was an excellent host. Highly recommend.

Great location, very well equiped, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Nest for the full month of September and really enjoyed it.

The studio has a perfect location – walking distance to Public Garden, Back Bay, Charles Street, Downtown, North End and several Subway stations. It was a lot of fun exploring the different neighborhoods and walking around.

The apartment is sunny and gets a lot of natural light. Although the open windows bring in a nice breeze, the air-condition was available for the unusually hot days.

Very well equipped studio with anything I needed – Cookware, dishes, utensils, Hair dryer, printer, radio, hangers, etc…

The mattress is very comfortable and allowed for a good night sleep.

It was also extremely easy and pleasant to communicate with Mr. Paul the owner who is extremely helpful and responsive. I highly recommend the Nest for your Boston stay
