Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)
We are Canadians residing in Central Ontario and Aruba. Our first visit to Aruba was a scuba diving holiday in January 2006. We fell in love with Aruba and its people then and in April 2006 purchased our home on Spaanslagoen Weg. Since then our villa and guest cottage have been completely renovated, the pool installed and pavers and garden put in. We've enjoyed several months living at Windsong Villa. Many weeks we have enjoyed the comfort and quietness of the guest cottage when the Villa has been rented to others. We love staying in the cottage. We have done many shore dives at Mangel Halto in front of our house and at the Hole in the Wall dive site close by. Snorkeling and swimming are great too and just out the door! Michael is a PADI certified Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor, # 211856, Master Scuba Diver Instructor and DAN instructor. While in Aruba learn to dive with Mike Brown. Lessons can begin in the pool or in the sea across the road. You can even start the knowledge development portion by email. The rates are reasonable and competitive. If you are already a Scuba Diver and want to upgrade your qualifications to Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, or Dive master. Then ask Mike. Children can learn to become Bubble makers in the pool. An 8 year old or older can become a Junior Open Water Diver. There are a lot of options for the whole family, including swim lessons for adults and learning to safely and effectively snorkel. Contact Mike Brown. We have a Suzuki Grand Vitari 2003 vehicle, insured with roadside service that may be available to renters for use at $30.00 per day. It is not for off road adventures.

We have found our happy place!
My husband and I had visited Aruba for one day during a cruise in 2018 and were determined to return. We spent a week at the Windsong guest cottage this year and it was an incredible vacation! The cottage was just the right size for the two of us .We spent several days at Mangel Halto. I could relax under the mangroves and my husband did a little snorkeling. We grilled out under the papala three evenings and ate outside at the picnic table.
Gustavo, the property manager, was great!
he was always available. He was waiting for us when we arrived from the airport and was always just a text away. We only had to call on him once, (when a light bulb went out) , and he responded immediately and was there within the hour to replace it. He even taught us the correct way to cut a mango! Which are right outside the front door!
We were very pleased with the cottage, location and management. We are planning to return ASAP! Thank you Sophie and Gustavo for helping make our 8th anniversary memorable!
Masha Danki !

One Happy Visit on One Happy Island
From the moment we arrived in Aruba the hospitality and people were so amazing. The new property owner Spophia is most thoughtful and made sure our stay was awesome! Gustavo and his family were available to help and give great tips or fix things as needed. We didn't need anything to be fixed but knowing someone was available was nice. The place was clean and nice with all the necessary items for a pleasant stay. Very quiet away from the tourist areas. Even your own mango tree just outside the door. The pool and hot tub area is very nice and there is a grill and outdoor table if needed. I love Windsong Villa at Mangel Halto, the access to the ocean is just a few steps away from your front door. The diving and snorkeling was awesome, so much life on this one happy island. Renting a car is definitely necessary. We went to the local grocery store and cooked most of our food but the local restaurants are excellent. My favorite is Zeerovers. We dove with JADS and they were also great. I would highly recommend this property and we will be back.
Would absolutely stay here again. Perfectly private and far enough away from the resorts.
We did have a rental car and used it to explore the entire island and eat at restaurants all over! However, we did also grocery shop and cook our breakfasts in the cottage.
Sophie and Gustavo were very helpful and always gave us great tips. If we return to Aruba, we’d definitely stay here again.
Windsong cottage is located perfectly for those who want to experience Aruba without the 'touristy' chaos. Snorkeling right in front of the cottage, white sand beach, quiet and relaxing. Cottage had all amenities we needed, grocery stores nearby, and great hosts.
The cottage is perfectly located away from the tourist areas and every thing is easy to get to. You can take the bus if you want the local experience or rent a car. Most days we spent out in front of the property snorkeling, swimming, or snoozing.
As I love to snorkel, I loved being at Mangel Halto. Plus anytime I can be beachfront is a bonus!
I picked Windsong cottage for it’s oceanfront location at Mangel Halto. We have been to Aruba many times and had been to Mangel Halto to snorkel. How absolutely perfect to be able to just walk over and swim to the reef 2 or 3 times a day! Then walk back and rinse off to enjoy the pool and garden! And also to watch the sun set over the ocean every evening.
The cottage was comfortable and supplied with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay there and appreciated the welcome by Juan and the work done by Maria to get the cottage ready for our arrival. The cottage itself, however needs some TLC. A little paint and updating are in order. As are some more comfortable seating and sprucing up poolside. We did get the opportunity to “tour” the villa and were very impressed with its interior. Would not hesitate to stay at the villa.
Spaanslagoen Weg goes along the shore. It is a lovely and interesting walk in either direction. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly to walk through. The beach is very close where you can soak in the sun or find shade under a palm umbrella.
The main area for shopping is in Oranjestad; however there are many stores throughout the island providing whatever one might need. Two grocery stores are nearby. A bar restaurant frequented by locals and visitors provides good food and a friendly welcome. It is right at Mangel Halto steps from Windsong.
There are many places we love to visit on the island. Among them are Arikok Park. Here you can enjoy a scenic drive to beautiful wild beaches (No swimming there!). Don't miss the visitors centre. Several trails are of great interest. It is best to go on them earlier in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day.
The Archeological Museum in Oranjestad is an excellent place to learn the history of the island.
