This is a very unique home in a beautiful setting.
This is one place where you truly can 'get away from it all'. The beauty and location will allow you to relax and enjoy the scenery, wildlife, and nature.
We spent 2 wonderful weeks here in Aug/Sept 2014. First, Lisa was extremely helpful and accommodating prior to our trip, answering all of our questions quickly and providing plenty of recommendations for restaurants, activities and shopping. Our actual trip surpassed all of our expectations - the home was lovely, spacious and well equipped, but the setting is what really made our stay memorable. The views from the cabin are breathtaking and walks down the quiet country road revealed other equally spectacular scenery. With the way the cabin and its deck are situated, we were able to see both sunrises and sunsets over the Continental Divide and they were absolutely beautiful! And after sunset, stargazing from the deck was amazing, with no light pollution whatsoever to spoil the beauty of the night sky. Daily, the deer came within feet of the cabin deck and barely an hour went by that we didn't see some kind of wildlife (deer, elk, turkey, chipmunks, birds, coyotes and more) on the cabin property, in the meadow across the street, or on our walks and car rides. In addition to the remarkable setting of the cabin, the whole Pagosa Springs area has plenty to offer in the way of hiking/biking trails, scenic drives, and other outdoor activities. The cabin is a little remote (10 miles off the highway), but the road is well maintained and (in the summer) we didn't have any problems driving it in our Honda Accord. In fact, we really enjoyed the country road as we always saw deer and/or elk every time we left and returned to the cabin. This cabin was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Upper Blanco Basin as well as to provide easy access to the numerous activities Pagosa Springs has to offer when we were feeling energetic.
I highly recommend this property for the cabin itself, the peaceful setting and the remarkable views, the wildlife viewing, the abundance of activities available within a short drive, and the excellent customer service provided by the property manager.
Lots of room, fantastic kitchen. Unvelievable view. Nice and quite, secluded. Nice accomodations. We would definitely stay again.
This property offers ultimate privacy, all the comforts of home and some amazing views! There is plenty of living space and the bedrooms are well equipped and clean. It's also a great value and the management has always been easy to work with. We've already stayed twice and can't wait to come back again!
Our group was on a skiing trip over New Year - and we really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We were very impressed with the overall size, number of beds, games room, cleanliness, all the kitchen equipment etc. I see there have been complaints about the road - but it is a VERY scenic road with beautiful views and we found it to be very smooth (but it had snowed and been ploughed). It takes a little longer to reach from Wolf Creek (about an hour) but this is the small price you pay to be in such pristine, beautiful surroundings. Due to the subzero temperatures (negative 21) which were quite exceptional - we had a few problems with cars breaking down and sliding, and pipes freezing, but our host Lisa was incredible and managed to sort out all of our problems very quickly and efficiently despite it being a holiday weekend. Who needs a hotel concierge when you have a host on call to help out if necessary? I would definitely recommend this cabin at any time of year, we look forward to returning sometime soon!
What a beautiful serene setting. We viewed every
manner of wild life during our stay from deer to black
bear. The home has wonderful amenities for chlldren
and plenty of room for a large family or multiple
