Puerto Morelos Condo Rental Photos and Description

Two Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 5)

Our gorgeous, two-bedroom, beach-front apartment is in Villas Playasol, an intimate and secure condo complex located on the soft white sand of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. With an ocean view and just steps from the sea and the biggest blue pool in town, our modern little Mexican hide-away is a wonderful vacation choice for couples or families.

Puerto Morelos is a friendly fishing village with a good mix of European, North American, and Mexican families. The downtown square features a supermarket, gift shops, and a number of restaurants to fit most tastes and budgets. The village center is a short walk away from Playa Sol, either by the street or on the beach.

Our condo features a shady breakfast balcony, pool and ocean view, plus manicured tropical gardens. This is not just a rental property — it’s our summer home! We offer an on-site, English-speaking manager.

Ask about availability or check our website for our Blue Monkey in-town apartments.

Our guests say....: We had a great Mexican adventure! We visited Mayan ruins and Merida, and had great fun at the pool and beach. Your place in Puerto Morelos was the perfect place for us to relax. Thanks for letting us stay, it really felt like home. — Paul, Christine, Emily and Alexis, Illinois

More words...: We really enjoyed our vacation. Puerto Morelos seemed to be the Mayberry of Mexico. It was truly a gem. Quite a variety of dining options and everyone was so nice. The beach was great and very empty during the week, a great contrast to the family action on Sunday. We called Charlie Brown for a snorkel adventure one afternoon, and spent our last day hiking in the botanical garden nearby. We were amazed at the amount of birds (isbis, egrets, etc..) in the mangroves on the road into town. We enjoyed our tea on the balcony...lots of fun. Your book was a real help. We hope to return someday very soon!!! — Jennifer & Eralp, Ohio

Last but not least...: I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous week we had at Playasol. We weren't at all ambitious, and mostly hung around close to 'home'. It was Holy Week so the beach was delightfully busy with Mexican families on holiday, enjoying sun, water, and each other--a lovely carnival atmosphere that added to our enjoyment. And, how nice it was to be in a place that felt like a home, not a sterile rental. Although we didn't end up making use of them, it was nice to have all the books and movies etc. around. And only once before (in Britain, no surprise!) have I rented a place that came complete with a tea cozy! It's clear that this is a home to you, and we're glad you're willing to share it. — Alison & John, Minnesota

About Bruce

We are experienced travel guidebook writers from Hunter Publishing and Frommers so we know what travelers like.

Why Bruce chose Quintana Roo

When we thought about a place to retire to, we each made a list of our favorite destinations and Puerto Morelos topped both of them. That made up our minds to buy here.

Great location - beautifully decorated and well equipped condo

  • 4 of 5

The Playasol condo development is a very nice location a few minutes walk from the town square.

The outdoor property is beautifully maintained and the pool is spotless thanks to the tireless work of the maintenance crew.

This third floor condo was well equipped with all the household requirements such as coffee maker, toaster, blender - a functioning pair of scissors would be the only thing I could think to add.

We never did get the dvd player to work in the living room but we only tried once and it may have been an issue with the dvd of which there are many to choose from along with a huge selection of books that I added to when I'd finished by beach reads. There was a flat screen tv in both the living room and main bedroom. Wifi internet strength was great and easily accommodated our 4-6 devices.

There's air-conditioning in the unit worked well (3 units) but being on the 3rd floor you could hear other people's roof units through the night.

The beds were hard for us but we do prefer a plush mattress.

This is a lively family oriented condo development with many larger groups during our stay. The pool was always active and from opening to dusk then again after dinner. There are many lounge chairs and a private section of the beach if you wanted to use it. We just headed straight to the water - we were there Easter week and on the weekends it was busy with many local families but we could always find a spot. During the week it was far quieter.

Our unit had a safe but all the lights were on and I was concerned we might lock our stuff in it so all 9 days it remained safely in the unit. There was never an issue with anything going missing. We left cash out and all of our electronics along with ID etc while we headed to the beach and the units received housekeeping services and there was never anything missing.

Cece is the onsite manager who is American and absolutely fabulous. She is readily available to solve any issues and a pleasure to deal with.

The main picture is a bit older as the trees have grown but you can still see the sea from the 2 small patios (each is just about big enough for 2 chairs).

This unit has beach towels, some toys, beach chairs in it for you to use but I would recommend your own goggles or masks.

Over all this is a beautifully appointed unit that I wouldn't hesitate to stay in again. Being on the third floor it is not really suitable for those with mobility issues. It was easy to communicate with the owner. Enjoy!!!

Great place to stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this condo from Bruce and June Conord for the month of February. I could not have been more pleased with everything. The owners were great to deal with, and were very attentive to all my needs. The condo is beautifully decorated, and the entire property is very well maintained. With the location right on the beach, and a short walk to the town square, this vacation could not have been more perfect.

This place has everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners really have thought of everything. From beach chairs and toys to kitchen equipment to rainy day activities. It was all there. We took full advantage of the kitchen and cooked at least two meals each day. It was nice to have the condo cleaned daily as well. We had two days of rain but were able to keep entertained with the netflix, DVD's, puzzles, and books available to us. Cece the property manager is very nice and helpful as mentioned in other reviews.

Another selling point for this condo is the location. Walking to town was so easy even for my 7 year old and slow moving mother in law. We did not rent a car the entire stay and never felt the need to do so. Also loved that the beach and pool are right at your fingertips. We have stayed in large all inclusive resourts before and walked much farther to get to the beach (without a view of it from our room) than we did in PlayaSol. Each day we would load up the beach chairs, cart, cooler, sand toys, and head to the beach for the day. There we would set up a spot and play all day. We brought our own snorkel equipment and snorkeled every day. We saw many varieties of fish right off the shore. Usually by evening time we were tired and hungry. We would then walk into town in search of some place good to eat.

The property is clean and well maintained. The pictures listed on this site are accurate. Only negative I can think of is the balcony is very small and to see the sea over the large palm trees you must be standing up. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. There are plenty of beautiful sea viewing spots from the grounds of PlayaSol other than the balcony.

I would definitely return to this place and recommend it to anyone interested in Puerto Morelos.

Beautiful Mexican paradise

  • 5 of 5

This condo and location were ideal. The complex is well maintained and clean. Everything we needed was on hand and more in this unit. The owners have thought of everything. The beach was magnificent the views incredible. Perfect walking, wading and swimming beach. Ideal for young children. Minutes from town. No car needed here at all. Cece, the property manager was on hand for any questions or suggestions. This paradise is a must see must stay place.

Great location on the beach and near downtown.

  • 4 of 5

The grounds were well-maintained, the staff courteous, and the manager, Cece, a helpful resource. The unit was comfortable and cozy with a balcony overlooking the large pool and a view to the sea. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens had a fresh clean smell. Housekeeping service was available if desired, This condo is close to everything but far enough away from downtown that it was quiet. We could walk into town to shop or dine...very convenient. There are lots of decent, inexpensive restaurants nearby, a a few very good ones. We enjoyed John Gray, Spaghettini, and Uruguaya Parilla.

lovely beachfront apartment

  • 5 of 5

We love this place.

We have stayed in this lovely third-floor condo many times, and it always feels like we are truly coming “home”. This is no cold, sterile rental unit, but rather a warm, personalized space that the owners are generous enough to share with others. The kitchen is incredibly well outfitted, both with rental kitchen usuals (pots, utensils, cutlery) and some surprises (a tea cozy, a crock pot). The furnishings are comfortable, and the artwork interesting. There is large library of books extending well beyond the usual tattered collection of abandoned vacation books, an array of kids games, and an extensive collection of DVDs. The balconies, while of modest size, have wonderful views of the ocean (both balconies) and the garden/pool area (front). The apartment catches a good breeze; with ceiling fans in each room, we have rarely felt the need to use the A/C.

The staff at Villas Playasol is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and effective. The cleaning women keep the place spotless, the gardeners clearly take great pride in keeping the grounds looking terrific. The manager of the complex (who lives nearby) is an American woman, fluent in Spanish, who is readily available to help solve any glitch that may pop up. Even the iguanas that live near the pool play their roles effectively, serving as a focal point for the many American and Canadian children who visit Playasol, for whom they are a great oddity. (Don’t worry, the iguanas are harmless and will duck into their den or scurry away as your kids approach them. Think of the iguanas as the squirrels of Mexico…)

Villas Playasol is quiet, safe, and well maintained. We have never felt the need to rent a car, since the town is very walkable, and there is always the option of taxis or collectivos to get around. But, for those who do rent a car, the gated off-street parking is a plus. The pool is large and well kept, with the shallow end semi-cordoned off. There is plenty of shade available, and the lounge chairs are comfortable. The beach in front of Playasol is the best in Puerto Morelos, with a wide swath of sand and a shallow entry to the ocean.

Puerto Morelos is quiet, laid back, and safe, with a surprising number of great restaurants with reasonable prices. It's a great place for a low-key vacation (swimming, snorkeling, reading, napping, walking the beach); there are plenty of attractions in the area if you tire of Puerto Morelos itself, but we don't think you will.

If you're into wet-tee shirt contests and loud parties, this is not the place for you. Puerto Morelos is a laid-back fishing village with an appealing mix of Mexican, Canadian, American, and European residents on one the Mexico's best beaches!

Our location offers easy access to the Maya ruins of Chichen Itza, Tulum, Ek Balam, and Coba. Other itineraries can include the colonial city of Valladolid, the island of women, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, or the flamingos of Rio Lagartos. In PM you're close to fun shopping and enticing nightlife in Cancun and Playa del Carmen but away from the noise and bustle of those crowded tourist attractions. Waterpark and nature attractions of Xcaret, Xelha, and Xplor are within a half hour's drive.

Beachcombers will enjoy long walks on deserted beaches or swimming and snorkeling the colorful reef just off our shore. We have such good snorkeling that the reef has been declared a Marine National Park.
