This was the perfect place to stay! Outside of all the crazy main tourist areas so we could get a feel for the local culture and have a nice beach nearby. The beach was just a two minute walk, and you do have your own section of beach to explore - but it is rocky and not recommended for swimming. But there's still so many tidal pools to see and you can wade in the water in privacy.
The house is gorgeously decorated and super comfortable, with everything you'd need. We got use of a patio with a grill, hammock, and a table we all ate breakfast at every morning so we could watch the ocean. Six of us (adults) stayed there comfortably. The owners are incredibly nice. When I go back to Oahu, that is where I want to stay again!
My family of 6 stayed here, 4 adults and 2 teens in August 2013 for almost a week and we enjoyed this place so much. The owners were VERY accommodating to us and very hospitable. We loved the fact that this was secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas. The beach is so close you can walk to it and our family enjoyed seeing the sea turtles and snorkeling at Makaha beach. We had the best visit and loved this roomy cottage. It is clean and fully stocked with all the household items you would need and we couldn't ask for more. We would definitely love to stay here again, and my fiance said we should come back for our honeymoon in July!
Home away from home! This is the place to stay if you like the quite side of Hawaii. Close enough to Honolulu but yet miles away from the crowds. It was great. The owners are so friendly. The house was clean and stocked with everything you could possible need. The beaches are beautiful. There is a private beach right in front of their house with chairs to watch the tide role in and out. Less than 5 minute walk to Makaha where we saw sea turtles. Can't wait to go back. We have told all our friends!
This was a great place to stay and we had an excellent time. It's an easy walk to Makaha surf beach which is practically next door, but you can also access the water right out the back of the property. The property is very secure, well taken care of, and comfortable. This was our first time trying the rental home for vacation. We're sold! We'll never stay at a hotel again. We stayed here for spring break with our 3 adult children ages 21,19, & 16. They loved it. The Golden Retrievers were precious and a bonus...couldn't get enough of them. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality!
Makaha Surfing Beach has surf breaks in the winter and summer. No other break on Oahu has large wave thru out the season. An ancient Hawaiian heiau is located in the valley and Kane Cave is about 2 miles away. Our home is located on the beach at the Point. We have 2 natural tide ponds in the frontage!! The compound is electric gate entry only. Parking for 4 cars. We have volcanic mountain view from the home and sunset view on the sandy beach. Stores are only 3 miles away. Entertainment is at Kapolei 10 miles away.
