No more expected tips, no ...do not disturb signs, no knocks at the door - Say Hello to a whole house ! Off the Highway, In the Woods and on the Lake - no close neighbors ! Watch the deer wander thru the yard, the fish jumping out front and hear the woodpeckers - well - pecking ! It's the sound of nature that will lull you into the that state of relaxation that is so hard to find anywhere else ! When you are here, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere ! With easy access to 'town' - Traverse City that is ! Two bedrooms for a family or two couples to share - plus a sofa bed in the Living Room right in front of the wood burning stone fireplace if needed. An equipped kitchen, microwave, cable TV/DVD and WiFi - will help you feel at home - in the depths of the north woods. A pontoon boat is included seasonally so you can explore the 459 acres of beautiful Spider Lake. Summer Rentals are Weekly Sun to Sun - ASK I might do a 4 night Sun - Thurs - see calendar -Kathy

Damage Deposit Required: A $200.00 refundable damage deposit will be required prior to arrival + $100 per pet if pet/pets have been accepted. This will be accepted in the form of a separate check that I can just hold on to, and return after you have left, if there are no problems, damages, missing items or if I can't tell the pet or pets have been there, inside and outside.

**Winter**: Winter - With the Tons of snow we receive, there are plenty of snow activities to choose from.. here are a few... snowball fights, snowman making, snow forts, snow shoeing, x-c skiing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing. Go out and get your cheeks all rosy and come in and have some hot cocoa !

Summer: Summer - Spider Lake is a 459 acre all sports lake with plenty of space to explore, picnic, fish, swim and float. The lake contains a public island and sand bar with lots of sandy bottom shallow area to stop and play. A pontoon boat is included to help you enjoy the lake. An optional fishing boat is available for $225 for the week. Grand Traverse Bay is nearby for additional 'Big Lake' activities with Parasailing, Jet Ski Hourly Rentals, Tall Ship Sailing, Shipwreck Diving, 'Deep Sea' Fishing, Wind Surfing, and more.. This cottage has private waterfront with dock and pontoon boat, it does not have a swimming area. The pontoon boat will take you to the middle of the lake, you can jump off and swim from it like a big swim raft or it will take you to a public island and sand bar where there is a lot of sandy shallow warm water.

Wilkins Landing II

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have stayed at Wilkins Landing II on several occasions, for both long weekends and entire weeks. What brings us back is both the location and the cozy atmosphere. When we are at the cottage we can unwind from our busy lives, enjoy a fire in the fireplace, listen to the wind thru the trees, and enjoy the very private lakefront setting. And when we want, the convience of Traverse City and surrounding area are but a short drive away. And speaking of driving, we love the many great golf courses in the region.

We have always found "WL II" clean and comfortable and recommend it for a northern Michigan getaway !!!

It was great, terrific!

  • 5 of 5

Gosh! What terrific owners they are. They answered our phone call in time of need & very short notice. We even had our small collie with us and they obliged. He loved watching out the french door window while ducks flew over. It also has a cute backyard with dock. Very cozy and only 10 miles from downtown traverse city.

Owner's Response: So glad you took the chance and contacted us... We have 10 places here on Spider Lake, 12 miles SE of downtown Traverse City .. in the woods.. on the lake...quite and secluded. When you need to get away, start driving north and call us.. text us.. or email us and we'll get something ready... we can handle 2 people up to 12 people in one place. Get the Home Away App on your phone. It is best to make arrangements ahead of time,, but don't be afraid to ask ! This is more than a "hotel room" ... it's a whole house !

Quiet lake cottage

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful escape to a quiet lake cottage, look no further! Great for a small family, and pet-friendly, we enjoyed our week at Wilkins Landing II. An added extra benefit was the use of the pontoon boat, as we spent a lot of our week on the waters of Spider Lake. Located just outside of Traverse City, you are close enough to run into town as needed, but still have the feeling of getting away from it all. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: First I want to THANK this family for taking such nice care of Wilkins Landing II. Coming Up North and spending your days on and at the lake is what it is all about and spending time together doing the simple things like fishing, swimming, floating is giving your kids memories of a lifetime. Thank you for loving Wilkins Landing II and Spider Lake. You are why we have been doing this for 25 years ! Kathy

Cozy winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

Kathy and Rolf were very gracious hosts, quick to respond, and made our stay very comfortable and easy. The cabin is exactly as advertised, and cozy and private. It's in a great location for a winter weekend- we loved the fireplace and easy access to Spider Lake for snowshoeing with our dog. Close proximity to Traverse City is convenient, also.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking such nice care of the house. We appreciate it.. So glad you enjoyed the snow, the cold, the frozen lake, and the quiet and private location. It was a crazy cold and snowy weekend of which most of the time we were in a Winter Storm Warning. It was a good time to be "Up North", in the Woods and on the lake. Kathy

Cozy getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I (and our dog) spent a snowy, wonderful weekend in this adorable cabin! We hiked across the frozen lake, relaxed by the fireplace, and drove into Traverse City one day for some wine tasting. We planned the trip at the last minute and Kathy set everything up without any issues. She even left us a list of recommendations and directions to places nearby! This place is so charming - we'll definitely be booking again!

This vacation home is located within Grand Traverse County on Spider Lake. The area contains many Inland Lakes & GT Bay creating a wonderland of water activities and water sports. The Boardman River snakes through the county for canoeing, fly fishing, & tubing opportunities before emptying into GT bay near downtown. TC is the Tart Cherry Capitol of the World + other farm fresh produce can be found seasonally throughout the area . The region is also home to many award winning wineries where you can tour and taste ! Two casinos are in the area w/gaming & entertainment options year round. Winter time brings snow, SNOW & more snow & the state keeps trails groomed for X-C skiing, snowshoeing & snowmobiling + keeps the place beautiful & white - just like a Christmas card picture. While there are many reasons to come to this area of god's country - don't forget to schedule some time for R & R ! The best reason of all ! This map almost shows it's exact spot - sshhh.... it's a secret !

Other Activities: Snow shoeing, X-country skiing, snowmobiling, Kayaking, tubeing, canoeing

Golf: Love to Golf a different place everyday? Would you rather stay 'off the beaten path' ? Why settle for a 'room'....How about a Cabin in the Woods? A Vacation Home on the lake? Would you like to do a little boating or fishing in between rounds? Forget the Hotel on the Miracle Mile! Come stay - in the woods, off the highway and on the lake! You will only feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! There is easy access to town and all the Golf Courses you could possibly want... and they are all a scenic drive away!

Ski: Cross Country Skiing at it's best -- with all the natural snow Grand Traverse County gets, All the State Groomed Trails to use for free ! - just grab your skis or snowshoes and come up to the woods-- get a pot of Chili cooking before you start out and it will be waiting when you get back - forget the 'Miracle Mile' of hotels, motels and restaurants.. stay out here, in the woods and close to nature. Yes, we have downhill slopes nearby if that's your kind of skiing ! There is something for everyone.
