Very satisfactory

My two children (Sam 8 years old and Sandy 12 years old), my husband and I had a wonderful time in Ivan's place.

It is a very stylish, charming and cozy apartment ideally situated in the very heart of Paris. You can walk to almost all major monuments, museums and Paris beauties. Best boutiques and Parisian Gastronomy are just a few steps away.

Ivan welcomed us and explained all the best tricks and tips about Paris. Very useful as it makes you save so much time and helps you feel at home immediately. Apartment has all the comfort you need with a very elegant decoration. In the bathroom, a wall of dark blue tiles gives a special new age touch to the suite (bathromm is in suite). In the room and the living room, white wooden beams and a white parquet contribute to the brightness and trendy look to the apartment. It is very calm (absolutely no noise) and well furnished.

Paris is and remains our favorite city and now I believe we have our favorite nest !

We will be back.

Owner's Response: Bonjour Wendy and Jack, Thank you for your review. I decorated my apartment as if it was for my own use hence the coziness and comfort of the matresses. It is indeed ideally situated close to the Louvre Museum, Palais Royal and most interesting monuments and places are within a 20-minute walk. Also the flat is very close to a police station which makes it extremely safe day and night although Paris is super safe anyway of course. The apartment is very calm and overlooks a delightful little 18th century very Parisian courtyard. As for the good tips I am trying to always be aware of new restaurants, bars and trends in PAris with the help of my travellers who can always help me back with other tips. Cheers Ivan

Our stay in paris

  • 3 of 5

The location is ideal. The place is quiet and safe. Close to the louvre. Lots of restaurants in close proximity. Metro station is also very close. The apartment could benefit with some simple basic upgrades. The lock on the bathroom is broken. The TV could not be turned on which was important as euro cup matches were on. We were unable to get any one to help despite us calling the telephone number several times. Just 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 guests staying over 8 nights. The living room sofa cum bed was more spring and less mattress. The hostess greeting us at check in was nice but spoke no English and so we communicated through sign language. It would also be nice to have simple amenities like soap provided for the guests. The bath tub is without a curtain leading to the floor around getting messy after a bath. I hope this critique is considered as constructive criticism. Finally the one very very small bathroom, could be a problem for a tall large person.

The apartment is decorated in cheery colors. The beams looked insubstantial until we figured out how long they must have stood up!!

The bed is comfortable, the kitchen supplies adequate, the market close with a typical selection and fresh fruits and veggies. The elevator is tiny but dependable. Be sure you can set an exact time to meet whomever has the key because you will be out on the sidewalk until you get a key. We chose to use Taxis because of cautions in the guidebook about safety. The distances to major attractions are short so. Taxi expense is not high. Taxis are prompt to the minute. Recommend for adults. Location with regard to attractions outstanding.

It is in the middle of everything!

Landlord respectful and helpful. Speaks English.

A perfect vacation apartment.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation week in Paris, in large part because of this wonderful apartment. It's very clean, up to date appliances, and a lovely view onto the charming courtyard. As Ivan said, you're minutes away from about every tourist sight you could think of, yet the apartment is on a nice, quiet street. The boulangerie two doors down was perfect for our morning croissants, afternoon baguettes. A Monoprix only two blocks away provided all our staples. And Ivan was terrific, very helpful both in writing and on the phone - he has perfect English! I hope we have a reason to return to Paris next year so we can stay here again!

accurately described by previous reviews: cozy, comfortable, great location

  • 5 of 5

We found this apartment is accurately described by previous reviews. It is a very nice, intimate, comfortable small apartment, ideal for a couple visiting Paris. We spent nine days here and loved it. The apartment overlooks the courtyard. It is in the middle of Paris yet it was amazingly quiet.

The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, a good oven and a coffee maker. Here we had breakfast most mornings (bread or pastries from the Boulangerie Molière almost every day; two days eggs bought at a grocery across the street and down five doors, and a few days the La Fermière French yogurt- in cute little ceramic cups--my wife loved). There is enough room for two to move comfortably. At night it is silent-not quiet but silent! There is a very nice soaking tub, and the water is good tasting for drinking and very hot for bathing. The bed is comfortable and there are plenty of blankets and pillows.

The best thing about this place is the location. Right out the door is a neighborhood in which there is everything you need: within a block there are the boulangers, two small groceries, restaurants. There is a post office down the street. Avenue de l'Opéra is one block to the right as you walk out the door. The Palais-Royal - Musée Louvre Metro station is two blocks away, then all the neighborhoods and sites of Paris, and some surrounding cites--Chartres, Versailles--are an easy, inexpensive train metro ride away. The Louvre itself is three blocks away. Walk away from the Pyramid toward the Ferris Wheel and you will walk down the Jardin des Tuileries to Place de Concorde to the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. While on this walk you will see the Musée D'Orsay, Musée de l'Orangerie, the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais. You can take the Metro back. My wife and I love to experience a city by walking the neighborhoods. From our little apartment we walked to the nice shopping center around the Opéra, we walked to St. Germain area, the Latin Quarter, the Ile St. Louis, the Marais area. We took the Metro to Montmartre and to the Rue de Montorgueil and to the Eiffel Tower. We walked up to the Opéra area and its upscale shopping. The three buildings of Les Galeries Lafayette is not to be missed for its food area in one building, its beautiful dome and the view from its rooftop deck of its central store.

Ivan, our host, was great. He returned emails quickly, offered information and advice and was very easy to work with. I would recommend this property highly.

Fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time last year that we came back to this same apartment. The location is ideal. You can walk to the Louvre in 5 minutes. We walked to many of the major Paris landmarks but the Metro is also very convenient. Check in was easy and Ivan generously made special arrangements for checkout to meet our flight time. It was great having our own little "home" and not having to hassle with a hotel. In spite of the unfortunate events in Paris during our stay we felt very safe in this neighborhood and secure apartment. The neighborhood is friendly and we enjoyed the especially bright smile of the lady 2 doors down at the boulangerie when we went to buy our daily baguette. Turn on the coffee pot and you can run down for a pastry and be back before it's brewed. We highly recommend.
