Conveniently located to all sorts of interesting attractions. Quiet and peaceful, Sleepy Hollow is a private community so there are rarely many people there.
Relaxing - I always look forward to spending time at the home and I always hate to leave - you will too! A three-night stay really puts me back in shape.
Thank you so much for a wonderful time at you home! The water was terrific, and the house was fantastic! We hope to return…
Warm regards -
This was our 5th year at this Log Home. A group of 6 quilting ladies here to do some real uninterupted quilting. Lots of room to spread out; everything you could ever ask for in a retreat space. We filled all the railings with our projects and had so much fun; we all hail this as our most relaxing weekend of the year. We look forward to returning to enjoy the serenity of the area, along with our annual visit to Berkeley Springs.
We had such a good time, anytime we even had a minute to spare we were swimming and kayaking in the lake. My three grandsons who are 7 (twins) and 10 learned to kayak and with all the water floats even the adults were in the water. The house was so nice and had everything we needed. The state record for perch was 15 1/2 inches and my grandson caught one in the lake that was 14 1/2 inches. I would highly recommend this rental home for anyone who wants to spend a great relaxing time with their family!
We looked long and hard for a place to take a week vacation from the farm and this is the cabin we choose. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. Everything was clean, spacious, accommodating and we felt so relaxed the entire time we were there. Our children ages 6, 4, 3, and 1 found plenty to keep them busy and we were pleased to have many options for things to do. They loved the toys in the closet and the game room in the basement complete with plenty of coloring books. The large floor puzzles were perfect although some were missing pieces. The hot tub was such a relaxer watching the stars in the crisp March air. We even ventured out in a kayak on a warm sunny day. The bedding was nice and it was a huge plus to not have to bring our own along or wash it. Overall very happy with our stay and reservations were quick and simple.
We had no hesitation following through with our planned family vacation at the cabin, even when 3 feet of snow was forecast for Hedgesville. When we arrived, we knew we had chosen well! As the snow fell, we enjoyed the fireplace and games, and there's nothing that can compare to sitting in a beautiful hot tub while the snowflakes create an unbelievably beautiful landscape around you. The perfection of the house was that there was a table well suited to puzzle making, apart from the huge dining area, which made our puzzlers very happy. Also, because of how large the home is, if you needed a little alone time, you could find it in the loft, or a cozy corner of the living room. The kitchen was well appointed and had plenty of storage for all the provisions we had brought. Thanks to whoever left some vanilla extract in the cupboard, we were even able to make delicious snow ice cream! The mudroom right off the front porch was a great asset when we came in from sledding, and having a large capacity washer and dryer to use was a blessing. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. The greatest miracle came Sunday morning after the snow stopped. We suited up to begin digging out our cars, which we had parked at the top of the property, and the road had already been plowed! This allowed our skiers to head to White Tail where they enjoyed an amazing day and had the slopes basically to themselves. We chose this location because my husband grew up vacationing in a cabin at Sleepy Hollow, but we'll be coming back in the future to make more memories with our family and grandchildren.
Our group had a fantastic weekend at Sleepy Hollow. All the snow made for a beautiful view from the spacious windows and the enormous table was the perfect place for us to eat together and play tons of board games. There's plenty of space to spread out, with comfy furniture in the living room and a basement filled with entertainment. The kitchen is very well appointed and we enjoyed cooking there. We are already talking about when we can come back for a summer retreat because the lake must be lovely when it's not frozen over! I wholeheartedly recommend this property to a group of friends or family looking to spend quality time together.
This was a warm and welcoming place to stay. Our son got married nearby so entertaining was a breeze. There were ample beds and linens. The hot tub was a hit, my grandsons absolutely loved it. I love porches and this home has a huge front porch and a huge deck out back. We did some fishing in the lake and even caught a few.
The neighborhood was nice and quiet as promised. Your home is highly recommended and we'll be back!
