Comfortable condo with great facilities and landscaping
We found the condo to be as advertised. It was spacious and well equipped. The management office was very responsive for the few requests that we had. The condo is part of a gated development in Mauna Lani. It is surrounded by a golf course and the small lanai has a view of Hualalai, and Mauna Loa. The condo is a bit worn (carpet and furniture) but in a comfortable sort of way. With the screened front and back doors open and ceiling fans running- it cooled down nicely in the evening but was still warm for sleeping. There is central air conditioning. There is an outside storage closet that has beach equipment. The only "negative" for us was the small lanai. It has a small glass topped table and four chairs and no room for anything else. There are no lounge chairs. However, the pool is right across the street with lounge chairs and has lovely landscaping and is well maintained. There is a shallow sloped entry to the pool that was useful for a person in our party with balance/walking problems. We appreciated the one story -no step entry to the condo for the same reason. There is a workout room with brand new (Feb. 5, 2018) exercise equipment. One of the greatest benefits for us was access to the Mauna Lani beach. It's open to the public but as a condo user, there is access to the parking area and Mauna Lani Beach Club. The beach is protected and the sandy beach makes entry into the water very easy. The snorkeling was excellent with clear water and beautiful fish. The water got murky when a storm came in and the waves kicked up. However, the beach was still calm. There is a small shopping center in the development with a grocery store and several restaurants. We can highly recommend the condo.

We loved our time on the Big Island and appreciated having the access to the private beach. The condo was well equipped with anything you could want and we appreciated the attention to detail, although the key provided would not unlock the storage on the patio.
We loved the outlook from the small patio which was panoramic to the Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and Kohala mountains with lots of sunshine.
There was low occupancy so that kept the area quiet most of the time, although the first week there was a large group above us who were very noisy due to having tiled floors and noise from dragging chairs.
Will stay again
New and well maintained facility with good beach access.
Sadly in need of better maintenance.
We arrived on December 16 at 1800 hours. We proceeded to unpack. We had plans for the evening. When we went to shower we found no hot water. I sent a message to the property manager who proceeded to contact us the next morning. He requested that my husband check to see if a breaker had been kicked off. He found that it had not. The property manager then stated he would try and find someone to fix the tank, would we be home the next morning? We stated no. I also pointed out that two lights were burned out in the Master Bath and two lights in the main bath. There was also a long dead and dehydrated centipede on the rug, as well as broken window coverings. The lights remained burned out throughout our stay in the main bath ( I have pictures) and the two lights in the main bath -shorted out again several hours after replacement. I again informed the property manager. Finally the smoke detector started beeping on day 3 of our stay and continued up abated until we left.
We love Hawaii but I would not recommend this unit as it is not well maintained.
Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate that you only mentioned to the manager that the hot water wasn't warm and the light over one side of the master bath vanity had burned out. John did call that evening and talk to you about checking the breaker. He also said he would be there in the morning about 8 AM which you stated you would be out golfing but come ahead. In checking the condo, he found the breaker turned off for the hot water tank. He also changed light bulbs over the vanity sink in the master bathroom, the light in the guest bathroom shower area and the 2 light bulbs over the vanity in the guest bathroom.
Yes, there was a dead bug behind the bedroom door that was missed by the cleaners and John did dispose of.
You claim you reported again to John about the light issue still not working, but there is no record of a call from you about this. In checking the condo after your departure, we found no problems with any of the lights.
John did text you when he arrived at the condo and when he left. He showed us the text messages and your response as well thanking him for his promptness.
The blinds were repaired while you were there. If you would have contacted John about the smoke detector chirping, he would have immediately brought new batteries to change.
To be accurate, John did respond to your phone message within minutes of your call, schedule an appointment to come to take care of the issues you reported. All of these are recorded in the maintenance schedule along with date and times. Again, sorry about your inconveniences.
Clean, modern, lovely condo w well stocked kitchen
The condo is ideal for what we needed. It was nicely equipped, well located, and fairly priced. The owner is very responsive.

Beautiful condo right on a golf course, views of mauna kea and awesome outdoor pool. Great place to stay!!
