A wonderful, 'Old Florida,' Beach house. This island home is decorated with a nautical theme. Walk the beautiful hardwood floors and watch the sunset from the over-sized rear porch. Minutes walk on a sand road to the quiet seven-mile beach. This beach is perfect for swimming or collecting sea shells. You have to travel far in this world to find a beach like this.
Turtle Landing has an open floor plan, and comes with all the trimmings. Perfect for a family or friends to enjoy a stay at Palm Island. House has cathedral ceiling and a large yard. Out the back porch is a long dock that is great for fishing, Kayacking or swimming in Kettle Harbor.
Turtle Landing will leave you in the 'old Florida' style that you expect. Island is accessed by ferry which operates 18 hours each day.
Driving time is one hour and ten minutes from Tampa, Florida.
Golf cart rentals available on Island.

We enjoyed every minute of the trip. The house was in excellent condition. We can't wait to return next summer!
The house and property was very nice. Even though it rained everyday while we were there, our family still had a great time! We fished from the dock, swam in the nice warm pool and then relaxed in the lovely home in the evenings. Scott, the owner, is very helpful and accessible. I highly recommend this property!
Turtle Landing is a beautiful home located in a tropical setting that really makes you feel you are "away from it all". The house is equipped with everything you need and the extras to enjoy yourself. Having the dock for fishing, the 2 kayaks and paddle board are a fantastic extra addition to the home that kept all of us busy without leaving the house. Also having the pool was great to be able to cool off during the hot summer days. One of our favorite spots was the expansive back screened porch. It enabled us to sit outside in the evening and play board games without having to worry about mosquitos. I would also recommend renting a golf cart as it adds to the fun of being on the island. Of course you have your car if you bring it over by ferry, but the golf cart is the most used form of transportation and fun to ride around and explore the island. We did make our way up to the 1 restaurant for evenings we didn't want to cook and the food was pretty good. The owner was VERY accommodating and responsive when we had questions, which I find important when renting one's home. We would rent Turtle Landing again the next time we visit Palm Island.
We enjoyed our stay on Palm Island vey much although some Warner weather would have been a big plus!! The owner and his staff were very helpful and responded quickly and efficiently when contacted.
The ferry was a bit pricy at $55 per crossing but we rented a golf cart for the month and just walked on the ferry at $7/person. Car parking in mainland side never an issue, plenty of room.
The only issue I found was the house phone land line was bombarded every day with sales calls. I finally answered one call to explain the number was a vacation home to which the caller responded "you don't qualify for thus offer" and then hung up on me. It took me a while to stop chucking at the irony of it all.
Overall a great location and we'll definitely stay there again if our travels take us back to Florida.
We just spent two weeks at Turtle Landing on Palm Island - what a great place to unplug, unwind and experience old Florida.
The home is well kept, has a great pool, dock for fishing and is surrounded by lush vegetation. The short golf cart ride to the beach was one of the highlights for the kids. Scott and Lisa took great care to create a peaceful and relaxing beach get away. If you are looking for nightlife and restaurants look elsewhere - Palm Island old Florida and we hope it stays that way. The two minute ferry ride puts three decades between you and mainland and we can't wait to go back next year!
My husband and I stayed at Turtle Landing from Feb-April. We loved every minute of it. The house is cozy enough for two but large enough with the screened porch for many more. We kayaked in the harbor, swam in the salt water pool, walked on the beautiful flat beaches, ate and read on the screened porch and explored the island in our golf cart. Best of all were the owners who did everything possible to make our stay special. We are going back! :)
Our family of four spent five nights at Turtle Landing this past week and it was just what was needed to de-stress and reconnect. The house was spotless when we arrived and Scott had a nice bottle of red on the counter which cemented the welcoming tone. The three bedrooms provided plenty of quiet space and the open kitchen with great room was the natural gathering space. I preferred starting the day on the huge back porch from which you could easily hear the Gulf waves rolling ashore. The pool was nice -- a quick way to cool it down is to run the blower for a bit. We spent most of our days out back on the dock enjoying the calm waters which made it easy to kayak and Paddleboard. We did more fishing than catching from the dock, a nice reminder to bring a boat next time! Over the course of the stay, my HR & BP dropped significantly and I heard my kids laugh A LOT. Barbara the Golf Cart Lady not only delivered the cart but provided plenty of island insight, as did Stu the Pool Guy. I can certainly understand why they both chose to become permanent residents of Palm Island!
Shell Collecting..this is a great place for finding shells on the empty beaches of Palm Island.
