Flathead Lake Respite

Karen's well -appointed daylight basement apartment suited our family of four very nicely. The landscaping and architecture of their home is classy. Our twenty-something "kids" comfortably slept on the futon and hide-a-bed couch. My hubby and I slept well in the spacious king with soft sheets. The kitchen was stocked with multiples of dishes, pans, silverware, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, coffee mugs, wine glasses, toaster, microwave, large frig, etc. We played cards out on "our" porch table sitting on their deck chairs, enjoying a beautiful mountain afternoon with our beverages/snacks. I took a morning walk and had great views going either direction from Karen's abode. We could have utilized their dock to park our jet ski and./or walk down to their tram which would transport us down to their dock, but we had enough jet skiing the day before at a friend's beach near Rollins. The tram had us a bit "spooked" and we felt we should have a "lesson" in usage or not use it at all, so, we didn't go down to the water for fear of goofing up the transport device. We could have asked, of course. The price of this Somers VRBO was very affordable, the location fit our needs for wedding/recreating just fine. We thank Karen and her hubby for the lovely summer escape!

Great place to stay! Nicest owners around!

My wife, son and I stayed at his nice little ground floor mother-in-law apartment for three days starting on the 4th of July. Karen and Earl and great people. They invited us to hang out with them on the dock while they shot off fireworks for the 4th. It was a fun time, even though we felt like we were intruding on their family time, they never made us feel that way at all.

The apt is very nice. Clean as a whistle and very comfortable. King sized bed was great and the full sized futon was great for our 10 year old son.

The house is right across the road from the lake. You take a very cool tram down to the dock. Water was cold at 54 degrees, but clear as a bell.

Overhead fan above the bed made for a nice breeze when the temps got up to the high 80's. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to make meals so we didn't go broke eating out.

We rented a boat at Wild Waves Rentals down the road a bit in Lakeside. Was a ton of fun. Highly recommended. For meals out, you can take in some great pizza and other fare at the McKenzie River Pizza Company in Whitefish (about 25 miles north of the house.)

The Going to the Sun road is a must do. Winds it's way East-West through Glacier National Park. Beautiful drive, but they are doing some rebuilding the road so there is gravel to contend with. Make sure you stop at Lake McDonald on the way. Cool lodge and a nice place to explore around the park.

Overall, I have to give this place and the area a 10! It was a great time! Highly recommended!

What a wonderful place to...

What a wonderful place to visit. Fresh mountain air, a magnificent view of the lake & mts. beyond, super comfortable kingsize bed & what a thrill to sit on the patio in the morning with a cup of coffee & see the hummingbirds come to the honeysuckle vines. Very convenient to all that the Flathead Valley has to offer. Great vacation spot ! !

My family and I just stay...

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just stayed in this very cozy well funished apartment and would like to let any one who is looking to stay on or near the Flathead Lake know that this is the place to book for your vacation. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be reserving this one again in the future for our next vacation, much nicer than staying in some crummy hotel room. This rental has everything that you would ever need to vacation very comfortably...

I also want to thank Earl & Karen for making our stay comfortable, so THANK YOU!!!! See you next year!!!!
